If you are looking for a market that sells Asian food, I recommend this shop. have everything There are also Thai desserts. There are Thai medicines. There are Thai food for sale at affordable prices. Durian is there too. Convenient parking, clean shop, maybe the aisle is a bit narrow. But a lot of things are definitely not disappointed.

We were driving on Rainier, south of 90, when I suddenly spotted this place. Hubby did a quick turn and here I am wandering a new-to-me international store that is Thai centric. This is an older store, so dial down your expectations accordingly. I tell everyone this when it comes to these stores. Look carefully. Pay attention to quality, expiration dates, etc. I never buy meats. I always browse packaged junk foods, fresh snack foods (front of the store), and produce. If they have fresh tanks, I always look at those too. Maybe I'll browse the frozen section. My best find this visit was Lay's potato chips - Thai editions! I've read about these but have not located them yet. Here they are! I bought every flavor they have. These are the small bags, only $1.59 each. Well worth the fun to try. (Not like the giant American family size bags even for their new flavors. Yuck.) Other than that, I bought mung bean + pandan tapioca flour treats, gummy soft and chewy, like mochi. Also bought some rosette like fried dough, thin walled treats.

A friend of mine came to visit Hawai'i recently and gave us this jar of sauce to cook with ground pork to make a Thai dish. He was raving about it and I believe it is something not sold in Hawai'i. At least I didn't see it in any Thai market in Hawai'i before. When I came up to visit, I told him I wanted to buy some to bring back as it made a tasty and quick meal. He took me to Mekong Asian Market. You walk into a clean and typical Asian market. The nice thing about this place is that they offered premade and packaged meals. Although, my friends told me the place offered more before with the previous owner. It was all good though because I found what I was looking for. Before I left, I saw a bowl of Kao Mun Gai (Haianese chicken and rice). If we didn't just eat a large meal, I would have picked that up as it's one of my favorite dishes to eat. I checked out and like many places, you have to pay for a grocery bag. Fortunately my friends wife asked if they had boxes and they did. The cashier was nice enough to find a box that was the perfect size for everything we bought. That was free and we went on our way. I love the money saved grocery shopping in the mainland vs Hawai'i. Solid Asian market to check out.

Arrived here since online says they'll be open until 7pm. We arrive employee blocked entrance and their signs says closed at about 5:30. I called and two ladies who were not very understanding as I asked them about their hours so they hung up. I called third time and a man picked up. I talked to him about their hours and explained to them it could be wrong online. The man gives the reason that google messed up and they posted it and because of Covid they're only going to be open until 5:30pm. Sigh sometimes I wish an owner can own up to their own actions and not blame it on something else. I understand due to covid hours are different but don't blame people for it.

Great selection and prices and parking but call before you come to ensure they are open. Hours on yelp are not accurate.

Revisiting it always feels special. The market looks small from the outside, but don't be fooled--it's surprisingly spacious inside with plenty to browse. The parking lot has limited spots so be prepared to circle or wait briefly. We stopped in just to browse and do some spontaneous shopping, and of course left with more than planned. I was thrilled to find a DIY taho kit (includes sago and arnibal) and grabbed two right away. A tub of Magnolia ube ice cream and banana turons were calling my husband's name, so those came back to the hotel with us too. If we hadn't already eaten, we would've grabbed lunch there--the food smelled so inviting. The cashier was especially lovely--friendly, chatty, and engaging with everyone in line. That kind of warm customer service is refreshing and definitely deserves recognition. We left fully content, happy to revisit a familiar place and score a few fun impulse finds. Fou Lee Market continues to be a comforting, nostalgic stop that never disappoints. Update: The banana turon was really good. Super crunchy exterior with sugar that hardened into a crisp shell instead of turning gooey. Inside was a whole banana, not mushy or overcooked or dry, which gave it great texture. Simple, well-made, and very satisfying.

Frozen goods, small selection of fresh veggies and a fresh meat department. And if that's enough they have a hot food bar. So many fried options, prepared banh mos, egg rolls, steamed buns, and standard Filipino food like dinuguan, pancit, kare kare and more. The food was solid. I wasn't a fan of the dinuguan due to my flavor preference. We did enjoy the bbq sticks. And my man loved the freshly fried chicken skins here. But on our last visit, our food had "friends" or additional protein included. And so unfortunately, we threw away everything we purchased that day. The tough part is the little critters were on our bbq sticks which were pulled out from the display area under the heat lamps. And that was very concerning for me. So sad to say due to this, we won't be going back. I hate to even leave this review but I'll always be honest about all experiences. Good or bad. Honestly we would still be going if that never happened. But now that it has, we will not be.

I used to shop at Seattle Supermarket out of pure convenience, but their customer service and…read morerespect for patrons are severely lacking. I've had two highly disappointing incidents recently that made me decide to never return. First was a safety issue. I reached for fresh mushrooms on what looked like a newly installed metal shelf. The edge was incredibly sharp and sliced my finger, causing it to bleed. I approached a young female supervisor/manager at the front (possibly named Ema) not to complain, but to warn them so other customers wouldn't get hurt. Her only response was an indifferent 'Oh.' No apology, no offer of a band-aid or basic first aid. Basic human decency was completely missing. Second was a billing issue. Last week, I bought a bunch of bananas and was double-charged. I didn't notice the receipt until I got home, and since it was only $5.33, I didn't make a special trip back immediately. When I returned a week later and politely brought it up, a cashier called over that same supervisor (Ema). She bluntly refused to help, saying, 'You waited a week, we can't do anything.' I pointed out the mathematical improbability of two separate bunches of bananas weighing the exact same amount down to the cent ($5.33) to prove it was a double-scan error. Her dismissive reply was 'sometimes that happens.' I let it go because I didn't want to argue over a few dollars ('not a big deal' financially), but her defensive attitude made me feel like she suspected I was trying to scam the store over $5. It's not about the money; it's about the principle, common sense, and how you treat your customers. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
