Was in the area for an appointment and decided to make a day of it by visiting the Naples Botanical Garden nearby but needed some food first so we stopped by here for brunch. Lovely meal. I had the breakfast sandwich on a croissant; I always love when the eggs on a breakfast sammie are scrambled and the sandwich was delicious. We've been here many times for breakfast lunch and dinner. The food is excellent! Family owned , great service and worked with my allergies. My friend was visiting from California and she wanted to see the Everglades. I have friends in Naples so we decided to base out of there. We had an early morning start and the closest restaurant in our direction of travel was this one so we decided to try it.... so glad we did. You can tell right away that this is a local favorite. So many people came in and seemed to be known to the staff. The decor is simple and comfortable. The waitstaff super friendly. And, the food is pretty good too. I ordered the steak benedict while my friend ordered their avocado toast. All of the ingredients were fresh and had great flavor. The steak was juicy, well-cooked and seasoned. Also, the portion was generous. The grits were, well, grits. That's why I always ask for cheese to be put on grits in restaurants. The hollandaise sauce had just the right tang and held together nicely. My friend stated her avocado toast was very good and the arugula on top "elevated" her avocado toast experience. Prices were reasonable. Make sure to get there early on the weekend. We went early (730) on a Sunday morning and within about 45 minutes the restaurant started to really fill up. So go, walk in, choose a seat and enjoy some great food and service. read more

I love Mela's! We live off Rattlesnake Hammock and love to support local restaurants. Breakfast or lunch. The dining area is clean, the food is reasonably priced and who doesn't love fresh squeezed orange juice? They offer a variety of solid breakfast meals and sides. The lunch menu is fairly good size and all the portions are good sized. The staff is very friendly, even when they get crazy busy! The restaurant can hold larger parties, like more than four, but be prepared to kindly wait. The most we have gone with is six, but we go early when that happens. read more

Food is fresh and not greasy for a breakfast spot. Dill omelette was more than I could eat, Country Fried Chicken was delicious with potatos and a large pancake as option instead of toast. Not impressed at all. I had the Reuben sandwich, which was OK! The service lacks a lot of attention. Once the food is brought to you, no one ever came back to my table, even though I had a empty drink glass sitting on the edge. I asked for my tickets so I can pay and leave. It a very long time to just get my ticket. It is very loud, I understand with all the northern people down here that they're busy, but they should never be so busy that they neglect a customer. read more

This is the second time I've eaten lunch at Mela's cafe. We are always a large group (6-8). Everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the Gyro and fries. It was filled with Gyro meat and Tzatziki sauce. The decor is nicely done and everything looks spotless. Service is excellent. Only negative was they brought the checks while 2 of us were still eating. ( shift change? maybe) All in all would highly recommend for breakfast or lunch. read more

We (my wife is a chef) discovered this place about six weeks ago. Fabulous breakfasts with great coffee. Amazing burgers, fish snd chips and salads for lunch. When the owner is not there, the service is terrible, which is really unfortunate. The menu is great, the owners are very nice and engaged, but when they are not watching the front of the house, the place falls apart and the service is terrible. After placing a drink order with the hostess, an irritated waiter took the order. We watched him do nothing to fulfill that order while also watching other tables seated after us receive drinks. After continuing to wait and our drinks were nowhere to be seen, we walked out. This was the second time we have experienced that and won't be back. read more

Keep up the great work! Love this place! We love this place. Not far from home, great food, great service, and surprisingly affordable for Naples. We really enjoy coming here and everyone is so kind and the food is great, the bar area and decor is on point, probably one of my favorite spots so far in our short time in Naples. Have had both breakfast and lunch, but we normally find ourselves there for a late brunch. We haven't ordered a single thing we didn't enjoy. My husband and I had lunch at Mela's a few days ago and it was terrific. It's a wonderful breakfast and lunch place, the menu is amazing. The food was fresh, the vegetables come from our local farms. My husband had a grouper sandwich, it was one of the best he had and very well priced. It's cozy and clean, a great addition to our neighborhood. Mela's Cafe will be our "to go" restaurant. Our favorite brunch place after golf or bocci now. Great service, food fairly priced and good portions. I love the oatmeal with fruit and the chicken and waffles superb (no little plastic containers for syrup, full pouring pitchers). The soups are home-made, and the soup and 1/2 sandwich generous and real turkey or tuna is great at $11.00. I love the chicken-noodle - very savory. The restaurant was bright, modern and full of diners who displayed the many items from the menu which looked very tempting. The staff greeted us as soon as we entered, and asked for our seating preference. Our table was spotless and prepared with a full assortment of condiments. Our waitress answered our questions about the menu and took our order promptly. The creamy mushroom toast was imaginative and tasty. We were served a delicious breakfast and received a refill on the coffee without asking, while other staff made sure our needs were being met (without hovering). The prices were more than fair, and the servings were generous. We left the restaurant after a very satisfying dining experience with the friendly chatter of other customers fading behind us as we walked to our car. We will be back. read more
