If you're looking for an authentic Cuban coffee experience, Café Melao is the place to visit. The owner was very nice and eager to explain the menu. I ordered an iced café con leche with oat milk and dulce de leche syrup. The aroma and flavor of the espresso were rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. The dulce de leche adds a light sweetness, so if you prefer sweeter coffee, you may want to ask for an extra pump. They also have a great selection of tasty treats to pair with your coffee. I will definitely be back for the amazing espresso and outstanding customer service, which can be hard to find these days.

A small and cozy cafe for old town greenwood. Amazing food, drinks and people who got me to like coffee! Love that it's run by Spanish speaking people, maybe one day I'll get the courage to order in Spanish.

I was so excited for this place to open! Last year, I had a craving for a guava pastry and I ended up ordering from a bakery in California on Goldbelly. Now I can just go down the street! This place is beautiful inside. And so cozy. There's plenty of free parking nearby as well. The employees were so friendly and helpful. The cafe con leche was delicious and the guava and cream cheese pastelito hit the spot. I'll definitely be back!

I tried out the new Cuban café, Melao!, in Greenwood today and it was really good. I got a Cafe con leche and a Cuban sandwich. Overall, I would give both a 4.5 out of 5. The coffee was a little sweeter than I like, but it was still really good. The Cuban sandwich was hot and very fresh, I just would have preferred more mustard or pickles on mine! I will definitely go back. The service was great and the atmosphere is super welcoming. They also have a cute seating area with about four tables and a few comfy chairs. I had to take my coffee to go today, but I will bring some things to work remote next time. It's a nice space! I will definitely be trying their pastries next time, they looked delicious too. I noticed it looks like there is a wine/bookstore opening across the street and a new cocktail lounge on Main Street as well. I'm excited for all of the new businesses coming to the South side!

Cafe con leche and guava pastry

AMAZING! The food was 10/10 and the service was 10/10. The people behind the register and cafe itself are actually cubans and make everything FRESH. I went with my hisband and 1 y/o baby and we all loved the food. I got a cheese and guava pastry, cuban sandwich to share with my husband and a mamey milkshake. The sandwich was delicious and the pastelito/pastry was so soft and yummy. I also really like that the mamey milkshake wasn't repulsing from the sweetness, it was perfect. My husband got a cafe con leche which was the perfect hot temp and perfectly sweet, he paired that with a guava pastry which was also really good. For my son we decided on a picadillo/beef empanada which he loved and let us try and let me tell you, it was SO GOOD. The seating is a little tight with a total of 4 tables (5 if you count the smaller center table) with 2-3 seats each. There were two tables outside seating two each but they were wet from the rain. Overall I will recommend this place to anyone in Indy who wants to try a GOOD cuban cafe.. that is coming from a Cuban.

One of my new favorite spots in Greenwood! Their fresh look, informative baristas, and welcoming space is welcoming for all. A great place to get some work done and get a great Bombon!

I stopped in to check this place out on a Thursday morning, and all I can say is WOW!! This cafe is so cute! The owner was there and he was taking orders, he is very nice! Cute decor and great drinks. I ordered the Carmel macchiato with almond milk and it was excellent! I also ordered a blueberry muffin that was huge and freshly made. I can't wait to bring my husband here! I'm so happy this gem is in downtown Greenwood!

We have been anxiously awaiting this wonderful new Cuban coffee cafe to open on Main Street in Greenwood. Wow this place was worth the wait and I cannot wait to come back. This is much closer than traveling to Miami. They have a very limited number of seats inside and out. It's very bright and inviting with some cute photo ops when they aren't super busy. You walk in and go all the way to the back and up the tiny step to order and then they will call your name out. The pastries typically come out first so be prepared to listen for your name twice if you order both food and beverages. Despite being super busy and only one person making coffees they were fairly quick. Everyone working and stopping in are super friendly. The prices are very comparable to other Cuban coffee places. I chose the Cafe bombon is half coffee and half condensed milk. Grab stir stick and mix it together for a nice balanced sweet espresso type shot. The pineapple coconut muffin is packed full of shredded coconut and pineapple. The hubby got the cafecito which is coffee, milk and whipped sugar. He absolutely loved it. It was super smooth and just as good as the traditional ones he's had. The guava pastry was light and fluffy and the perfect balance of filling and pastry. He regrets not getting the one with cheese as he got too excited and didn't read the whole menu. You will need to park in one of the free public parking lots and walk and there is a step up to the area to order however I assume they would accommodate you if unable to do the step up. I cannot say enough good things about this place. This will be a regular stop without a doubt. It's the perfect addition to the Greenwood area.

So excited for this new cuban cafe in Greenwood! We got a cafecito, dulce de leche latte, chicken empanada and guava pastelito. It was all REALLY delicious. So happy we can get cuban coffee and pastries now in Indy. We are about 20 mins away but will make the drive regularly, it was that good. Very cute inside as well and family owned so everyone was super friendly.

Another great locally owned business to join the other great shops of downtown Greenwood! My all-time favorite sandwich is the Cuban sandwich and I have not been able to find one that has been really good until now! In addition to Cuban sandwiches, they also have empanadas(chicken and beef) as well as pastries, and a full coffee bar! I got to meet the owner and she is wonderful! My only suggestion was to add chips to the menu to go alongside that incredible sandwich! Well done and go check this place out!

We tried the Cubano, spinach pastelitos, mamey milkshake, mango milkshake, and caramel macchiato. All were delicious. Very relaxing atmosphere. I see myself having many meetups and study sessions here. Can't wait to try the other menu items as well. Excellent service as well!!

    A perfect cappuccino :)

It was very busy. The cafe con leche was the best I've had since Key West. The pastry's looked wonderful. I have been back.

Games and plenty of seating for all visitors. Not to mention, bonus points for the cat I got to pet on the way in, I love a good coffee shop kitty haha. Inside, the decor was even better. Very good for a quiet coffee shop trip, either by yourself or with family. Service was super friendly. They were out of a few things, I thought about trying, but the cashier made it better by giving out recommendations on other stuff. Not a whole lot of parking, but other than that I would defnitley be back. Pictured is some of the lovely decor, However, I did not get a picture of my coffee or bagel before I destroyed it, haha.

But when my sister suggested trying a new to her coffee shop, I was totally up for the adventure. This place is tucked inside a historic house, and the inside makeover gives it a cool, modern twist. It's the perfect spot to catch up with friends or work with your laptop. The staff? Super friendly and welcoming! I ordered a Butter Beer latte which included carmel, toffee & vanilla (decaf, naturally) with a milk substitute and treated myself to a blueberry muffin. The verdict: coffee was tasty, but that muffin? Absolute perfection: light, cake like, and not too sweet. We demolished it so quickly, we nearly made a U-turn to get another! This place sings comfy, homey vibes, and I can't wait to come back. If you haven't visited yet, go check them out!

So I whipped out my trusty sidekick: GOOGLE! (Cue superhero theme music.) I asked Google to find me drinks nearby, and, as always, it came through like the magical genie it is. Five minutes later, I was pulling up to Tiger Sugar, hydration hero, reporting for duty! When I arrived, I scored a parking spot right in front, already winning! Only one person stood between me and my thirst, but let's be real: I'm so indecisive, I probably gave them time to finish their order and contemplate the meaning of life. I circled that menu like a vulture with commitment issues, but thankfully, the super-friendly lady behind the counter came to my rescue and steered me toward the passion fruit black tea. One sip, and it was a full-blown dance party in my mouth. I'm talking conga lines, disco balls, the works! This drink checked every box, though it was a bit on the sweet side, so next time I'll dial it down a notch. Not that I'm adventurous, I'm absolutely ordering the same thing on my next visit. Change is scary, okay? Go check them out. It's worth the drive to the Greenwood area.
