Another time the cadaver bone process had failed, so no implant, just another incision in his gums with stitches and antibiotics. No information was given as to the process for having an implant, and no patient information was available when I asked. The doctor and the assistant looked at me in seeming disbelief that I had asked for information to read. There should be some type of informative literature offered to explain step by step what will happen. So far, it's been eight months since the tooth extraction with no implant yet!

As a parent, you want the best for your child as she needed two teeth extracted for braces from Zaytoun Orthodontics. I have read all the reviews in regards for Dr. Eric Hoverstad before decided to come in for a consultation. The Consultation: The office was very easy to find as it is conveniently located at North Hills on 3809 Computer Drive suite 101. I was very impressed with the office's contemporary decor and knew right away that I have made the right decision. The receptionist, Amber was so friendly and explained in detail on my insurance coverage and what the differences in payment with anesthesia. Amber made us felt at ease with her bubbly personality and contagious laugh. As we were led to the back, I couldn't believe how spacious the rooms were. The office was equipped with the highest technology, and even the music (today's hits, not that elevator music) was surround sound. Additionally, the x-rays was quick and then was displayed on the big tv monitor from the exam chair. Dr. Eric Hoverstad came in and greeted us and he is super friendly and humble. Dr. Hoverstad is young and you can't help but to admire his fashion style. He wears nice shoes. Not to mention, we tried not to gaze eye contact for too long as Dr. Hoverstad is handsome, pretty boy like a Ken Doll. Overall, he is extremely nice, and we did not feel rushed at all. Dr. Hoverstad took the time and explained the extraction procedure, the pros and cons of numbing verses anesthesia. He was patient and answered every questions and concerns I had as a parent. Teeth Extraction: On the day of surgery, we were already comfortable and felt at ease knowing that my daughter would be in good care from the incredible staff. Felicia and Tyler made my daughter very comfortable before going under, and got her a blanket to keep her warm as her body temperature dropped from going under anesthesia. My daughter remembered Dr. Hoverstad had asked her what music she wanted to listen too, she wanted to request KPop (Korean pop music) but before she could answer, she had already went to sleep. The procedure was 45 minutes and Felicia and Tyler thoroughly explained the proper care and changing out the gauze as needed after leaving the office. The extracted teeth was cleaned and placed in a sterile autoclave bag with detailed instructions on easing the pain, and how to clean the extracted sites. Dr. Hoverstad came in post operation and made sure I didn't leave the office with any doubts and said I could call the office anytime if there was any concerns. The post op surgery went very well and the recovery was fast. Felicia and Tyler both helped us out to the car which I had to park out back. That is a good thing, because that's protecting my daughter as she was still semi sedated from the nitrous "laughing gas." Post Op Follow Up: We were back the following week for the post op check up. Most places did not have post op check ups, which I was impressed the how Dr. Hoverstad and the awesome staff had taken the time with each patient to check up on how things were healing from post surgery. Only to be rudely surprised by a call from a collection agent today. They never bothered to call me one time to help clear up the bill. They just sent it to a collection agency. These people are only concerned about making money and they truly don't seem to have any concern for the patients at all. Worst experience of my life. Office is old school and doesn't offer or use any newer technologies to avoid these possible complications. We were never informed of any possible complications that could occur due to nerve damage. During the consultation they put you in a tiny room and make you watch a 1990's video on the procedure. Not until after he realized he had nerve damage did he tell us this was a complication that could occur and made me sign a waiver for him to continue to treat him for post surgical infections. Do your research on newer technologies offered for this surgery before choosing this practice. Other practices in the area are more up-to-date technologies that can avoid complications of taking out wisdom teeth that are impacted. I regret ever using this practice or physician.

Once we arrived we were greeted and everything was explained very thoroughly and our questions were answered. The office is very well organized and everyone was professional on our visit. Not all of the services were covered by our insurance but that was explained to us. We paid at the time of service and were given complete aftercare instructions. I see no issues with the office but everyone has their own experience and everyone is allowed their opinion.

The office staff had the audacity to tell me they would charge me for a no show if she didn't stay, somewhere around $100. I laughed, and told her that it is on them for not informing us of their change in accepting our insurance and to come find me for that missed appointment charge - please, come find me! That was the end of going there. It's a shame. I liked Dr Adams, he was nice. It's the lack of communication with the patients in which they lack that led me to find another provider. Touché

I want to start by saying I have no doubt that Dr. Jelic is a great surgeon. However, please do not…read morestart a consultation or treatment here with him if you're needing orthognathic/jaw surgery. My grammar isn't the best and I know I'm wordy, but here is my story. I went to Dr. Jelic because he definitely has experience and expertise with surgical procedures. What I didn't know was that he has a strong stance against vaccines. There's a lot to unpack there but that's not the crux of what happened or why I'm upset. Due to his vaccination status, he isn't authorized to work in a hospital and cannot perform double jaw surgery. However- he does not tell you this until as late into the process as possible. This is after you have already invested thousands on the surgical pre-planning. For me, it was also after I had already been in braces for months. His lobby (which, honestly, is very nice and cozy) has jaw surgery pamphlets and his website as of today still features it as an option. They're able to collect quite a bit of money upfront with no intention of actually performing the surgery, then leave you hanging. I do not believe it is an honest way to conduct a business. At the time, I was told instead we can do one jaw at a time (several weeks in between) in his office. We decided to go forwards with this and scheduled to meet in 3 months. On the morning of my scheduled follow up, I got a call saying they would need to do both jaws at the same time and they can't treat me. I asked if there was anyone they could refer me to but they offered no help or sympathy. They did not respond to any emails or calls from me afterwards. I wanted to thank Siri because her review gave me the courage to say something when the rest of their reviews are so positive. I finally finished my braces journey and found out from my orthodontist that I'm not the first person this happened to. He was not aware of Dr. Jelic's inability to operate in a hospital until recently, with the other patient. This is someone he works with and he intentionally kept this information from. The first patient had gone through the entire process required to prepare for jaw surgery, only to be dropped last minute as well. I lost time, money, and peace of mind for months, not being able to get clear answers from his office. I ended up needing to change and redo my entire braces plan.I feel like the situation was extremely unethical and I wanted to put it out there, and hopefully help even at least one person out there who is looking into their options. This review shouldn't impact you much if you're looking to get a more routine procedure, like an extraction. Jaw surgery and the preparation required is a hard enough process on its own, place your trust and resources with an honest doctor.

The duress caused by Dr. Jelic's office administration throughout my 17-month journey toward BSSO…read moreand chin advancement surgery has negatively affected my life. This may not be because of Dr. Jelic himself, as my appointments with him were all timely and straightforward. I have been fortunate to encounter many positive experiences in the realm of medicine. I was fully prepared for this experience to have joined those ranks. This surgery was for the healing of my physical pain. The experience with my orthodontist on this case has been outstanding. I have been wearing metal bracket braces for 21 months as a 44-year-old mother of three young children. Because of the way Dr. Jelic's administration has handled my case, I have now been in braces for several additional and unneeded months, each with their usual cost of $275/month. After roughly 16 months as a patient of Dr. Jelic's office, a process that included imaging, surgical planning, and bi-monthly appointments, a nurse at my last appointment directed me to request two itemized listings for the two upcoming surgeries at check-out so I could understand the cost differences if I opted to separate the procedures. The office administrator dismissed the nurse's request for separate pricing and seemed unconcerned about our questions that resulted from another all-encompassing listing that I did receive. The listing sent to us exceeded the cost range of the surgeries given to us at the start of my treatment. The administrator even misspelled their own name in their last email sent to me, causing me to wonder if my case was being taken seriously at all. Weeks later after I submitted another email asking whether or not a BSSO involves any short-term or long-term pressure applied to the turbinates--while this question never received a response, my husband did open a Dear John letter stating that because I had expressed dissatisfaction from not being able to acquire answers to the questions raised by my nurse, that I was free to pursue a BSSO elsewhere. It was also cited that I could pursue surgery elsewhere because I had been emailed as a follow-up to *my own question asked to the administrator during the phone call*. but that I had not responded promptly. The letter stated that because I did not reply promptly to this email, that this was interrupted as a lack of teamwork. I initiated treatment for my facial pain. I had paid the bills, gone through with large braces and experienced 17 months of responsiveness, during which time the administrator contacted me through text messages and phone calls. The point of the response I received pertained to my own request to speak directly with the doctor-- wouldn't it require a viewpoint of teamwork from Dr. Jelic's office to perform the due diligence of "This patient has never not responded before. There are multiple ways to follow-up with her via text or phone call as I have in the past?" Instead, it was determined that the best next step for the patient is restart their BSSO journey, in spite of their current pain level, in spite of the last 16 months they have already spent in braces.
