I hadn't been to Pearly Baker's in several years and had a great time stopping by for dinner two weekends ago. A lot of places in Easton have closed and I'm glad to see Pearly still going strong. I'll try not to make it such a long time between visits. Our server was excellent, the food came quickly and drinks were re-filled as soon as glasses were empty. I had the vegetable panini, which I highly recommend, and the Caesar salad, also excellent. They each had some seasoning or toppings that gave the panini and the salad a distinct flavor. read more

After a day at the Crayola Factory, my family and I decided to dine at Pearly Bakers Alehouse. The weather was nice so we opted to sit outside. The server came over and handed everyone menus and took our drink orders. I decided to keep it simple and went with a Shirley temple for my drink. For my meal I ordered the Whiskey burger. It comes with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, house made bourbon bacon and onion jam. I modified and asked for grilled onions instead of raw onions, and I also asked for garlic aïoli instead of the onion jam. I knew they had aïoli because I saw it mentioned underneath another sandwich. I paired it with sweet potato fries. It did take some time for our food to come out but it was worth the wait . The food was visibly made to order. Fresh, hot and tasty. I was being greedy and wished I had more fries, but honestly, the portion was just right given the size of the burger. I left feeling full, but not stuffed. Overall good food and service and I would return. read more

If you're in Easton, Pennsylvania, and seeking a dining spot with your friends, I highly recommend this place. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, particularly the pretzels. They were surprisingly good, and my friend and I were so surprised by the taste, that we ended up ordering them after our meal. There's a good variety of food, given the small menu of choices. Our server was great. Despite having a large group, she managed to separate our checks and include the 20% gratuity, which is required for groups of six or more. She was also very helpful when two of my friends' orders got mixed up and the manager resolved this for us. As a heads up, if you're planning to visit during a pub crawl day, be prepared for a loud atmosphere. The bar area is open next to the main dining room, and the music is quite loud, especially when the bar is packed. This can be a bit distracting if you're trying to have a quiet night or conversation with your friends. But I would recommend this place for anyone to try. read more

First off, I use to love going to this place. The live music, the food, and the cozy feeling of a good hometown bar. That cozy feeling is no longer there. When you walk in you feel like you just punched the owner's dog. I've never seen an owner with such a miserable face on, walking around for all to see. Once you get past him you see another upset looking young man who looks like he's been kicked around. Now the food was delicious but overpriced. I understand inflation but $20 dollars?!? for a cheesesteak regardless of the cut of meat is insane. It's a shame they closed Mothers down because at least the brothers who ran that bar understood their demographic. The pot pie was different but also delicious and the service was excellent! Such a shame those employees have to work with a TOXIC owner. Now for the real reason I will never come back here! The same miserable owner started openly yelling at an elderly woman!!! I may not understand the dynamic between the two of them, but I certainly do not appreciate my meal with a side of elder abuse. If I were the other two brothers, I would remove him from being a fixture at the restaurant, there is such a thing called a silent partner, and I highly recommend they put him in his place. I had the French Onion Soup and a Cuban sandwich and I also sampled my girlfriend's Angus chimichurri steak and my daughter's pizza and my other daughters chicken tenders so I will break it all down now. The French Onion Soup was nothing special. I didn't enjoy it too much at all. Now the Cuban sandwich was great, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It had a unique flavor to it and it was a great twist on the traditional Cuban sandwiches that I've had at other establishments. My girlfriend's steak was pretty good, she really liked it a lot and the sample that I tried I would agree with her on that except that I would've probably enjoyed it a little more if it was cooked more but other than that it was good. My youngest daughter's pizza was good as well. A little dry but very tasteful and best of all, she had no complaints about it and ate most of it herself. My older daughter's chicken tenders were just regular tenders and no complaints from my older daughter as well. The service was ok, not the best due to the fact that we wasn't asked if we wanted drinks when we first sat down and making sure we was good with our refills on water. Pearly Baker's Ale House in Downtown Easton is a great local spot with a super chill atmosphere and kind staff. I recently attended the Beards for Breasts fundraiser there and learned about this amazing spot. I tried some delicious local beers and appetizers, including the Mozzarella Bites served with marinara and the Bavarian Pretzel served with ale mustard and cheese sauce. Both were delicious! What a surprise. We decided to get something quick to eat after a long day at the crayola factory. We opted to eat outside which was nice since it was sunny bright and not to hot out. Our waitress LJ was super nice and friendly. She allowed us to take our time and she helped us out. I can't say enough how super sweet she was and how she really enjoys her job. The bar tender Tara made my moms Long Island ice tea the way she likes it. Let's just say my mom had no complaints to the drink. I got a salad which was gorgeous as you can see, my dad got the brisket and mom got the burger. You cant go wrong with anything on the menu. First time eating here before a show. When we were seated, were given a list of specials for the night. Upon ordering, was told 3 of the special's entrees were not available, along with another entree from the main menu. Not a good start. Got the French Onion Soup for an app, which was very bland. Ordered the Chicken Pot Pie, which came out cold and was basically a soup with a small round piece of puff pastry floating around. Walked in at about midnight just to have a drink because a jazz trio was playing. Asked the bartender if we should order our drinks at the bar before we sat at a booth in the bar and he said he would come over to us because it was his job. He came over to where the 3 of us were sitting, gave us drink menus and said he would be back in 2 minutes to take our order. Well...that never happened. There were about a dozen people in the bar so it wasn't crowded. The bartender started to clean up behind the bar as we waited...and waited...and waited. After about 15-20 minutes of being ignored, we got up and left. Sadly we will not be returning. read more

Initial arrival/atmosphere: Upon arrival to Pearly Baker's we requested a table and were told the next table wouldn't be available for another hour. We noticed several unoccupied tables outside so we went to ask if that was for both indoor and outdoor seating. On our way up, two diners from a table said they were leaving without getting food. We were offered their table. Before ordering, we saw two walk up guests ask for tables and were immediately seated without a reservation (I heard them say they did not have a reservation). It was disappointing because we were originally told to wait an hour. I'm not sure why were told something different than those guests but it did not feel nice. We also witnessed several potential customers approach the host station and wait for long periods of time before being greeted so they just left. The hostess did not attend the station very well. Cleanliness: When we were sat, the table was not cleaned from the other people who were there first. I had Clorox wipes so I ended up cleaning it myself. Our server was friendly and we were able to order fairly quickly. While we were waiting for our food, we witnessed two other tables decide to leave before eating. I believe it was because of slow service from one particular male server. That server was not wearing a mask properly at all (not covering mouth or nose). This server was handling food and speaking with customers. He also entered/exited the restaurant regularly without the mask on. Food: We ordered a veggie burger with a salad and a pulled pork sandwich with seasoned fries. The sandwiches themselves were average. Nothing spectacular or wrong with them. The portion of fries was pretty light compared to other similar restaurants. Final Thoughts/Rating: I'm rating a two because the server (not ours) without the mask was making us very uncomfortable. The fact that our table wasn't cleaned was particularly frustrating because of COVID. Additionally, the food was not that great. I do want to note that prices were reasonable and our server was friendly. The overall experience though, was not great due to non-compliance with CDC guidelines and lack of attentiveness and concern from the hostess. read more

Let me start off by saying that I would give this place one star but I don't have the heart because the server was very nice. There's barely anyone here and I know that Covid 19 affects these things but it took us over an hour to get our food, when there are only a few other people here. Other places in Easton don't take nearly as long. We also had the most simple orders (two Caesar salads, a grilled cheese, and two chicken sandwiches). When we finally got our food, some orders were wrong and the others were just disappointing. One of my friends is extremely lactose intolerant so he said no cheese on his chicken sandwich. It came with cheese on it so he had to ask for another. It also had the wrong side (he just got fries). They said "oh, I'm sorry we just grabbed the wrong sandwich we'll be right back". They came back, he started eating it, and there was still cheese in it. So, they literally brought it to the back, tried ripping off the cheese, then brought it back out. First of all, that's disgusting. Second, they lied about bringing out the wrong sandwich, for whatever reason. Third, they didn't even bother ripping off all of the cheese. My other friend ordered an alcoholic beverage and they just brought out an entirely different drink. He didn't even say anything and just drank it anyway. The worst though, was probably my "Caesar salad". The menu said "grilled Caesar salad" which I assumed was like any other grilled chicken Caesar salad and they just forgot to write the word "chicken". But I guess what they wrote was accurate because I got a full head of romaine lettuce that was just burnt on a grill. It tasted worse than it looked. Picture attached. It was just burnt lettuce. (Oh, and it was $11.) We've lived in Easton for years and have tried a lot of the other restaurants downtown and none of them have ever been this disappointing. Great place for dinner! Located right on the center square in Easton you can pick from the bar area or a lovely dining room. There is a huge vintage chandelier in the dining room. The drinks were really great. My husband enjoyed all the beers they offered and I had a delicious fruity mule. Our apps and meals were great too. It's nice that they have some vegan and gluten free options. My husband ordered a cauliflower flatbread pizza. My smokehouse burger was very good too. The smoked Gouda was amazing. Took family from out of town and was beyond embarrassed. 5 items we ordered they were out of and the beer we ordered. Only a few other tables in the restaurant but it took 1 hour and 40 minutes for burgers and flatbreads ( some of the only food they had). At one point about an hour in, 2 of 6 meals were brought, turns out it delivered to us by accident. We sent it back after it got cold waiting for the others i our party to revive their dishes after 20 minutes. They sent me the same burger delivered 40 min earlier on a new bun, I know because it was broken in half, it was dried up and cold in the middle. The waitress kept apologizing and told us she let the manager know about our issues but the manager never came to see us. Service was really bad, were sharing water and ketchup at the table because we were ghosted by the waitress once we got our food. We've been going there for years but will not be going back. I don't have to travel downtown for subpar burgers and crappy service, I can get that a lot of places. read more

We walked by Pearly Baker's after an AM at the Crayola Experience -- their chalkboard outside said they had a kid's menu and I was sold. We opted to sit outside and enjoy the Labor Day festivities. All the employees were so polite, the service was really not the issue at all. They had a pretty good drink list, but the food was simply lackluster. We started with the crab dip...although it was more like a seafood flavored soup. There were hardly any pieces of crab in there, it was way too liquidly to be called a soup, and the pita chips were undercooked at best. For $16 I expected more. The kids had buttered noodles and chicken tenders - they looked average. The tenders might have been slightly overcooked from the looks of them, but both kids ate enough that I didn't question it. My meal was also a bit of a disappointment. I ordered a Reuben. The best part of a Reuben? The grilling that melts all the flavors together. This Reuben wasn't grilled though. The bread was barely toasted and then the fixings were added in. It lacked flavor and that true Reuben taste. read more

Many years ago back in the BC days (you know, before children) the old lady and I would frequent a fair amount of State Theatre shows and Pearly Baker's would normally be where we would go for pre-show festivities. We hadn't been in a few years and looking at Yelp I was surprised to see only a three and a half star overall listing. Looking into this a bit more while cross referencing things with our most recent visit last month led me to the following thoughts: * There are clearly a lot of fake-shill reviews for this place which Yelp is letting stay on their listing. Most are a few years old but there is no way this place ever got that bad just like there is no way that it's five star either. * It terms of being kid friendly, with their current promo of kids eat for $1 I think that's pretty kid friendly and people are dialed into it seeing as during our visit probably 2/3 of the tables had kids at them. The kids menu itself is nothing special but at the very least they let you sub sides very easy and the portion size for something like the chicken fingers is certainly not on the small side so now complaints here. * The lunch menu in particular really hasn't changed much in years. Not to say that what's there is bad, but at the same time I can remember several items being more or less the same from years ago. For the adult portion of the program, we both got some kind of a sandwich special that I forget the same of but it was good and the yam chips are not half bad either. On the downside, the idea of an over two dollar upcharge for fries is insane. * The menu is very well laid out and I can't see how people could have a problem with it. If you have a common dietary restriction it's listed. The upcharge for fries is listed. The upcharge for local grass fed beef is listed. If you didn't see it, it's probably not their fault. * The one knock on this place that I do agree with is the service. We came on a Saturday during I guess what you could call the end of the lunch rush and there were simply too many tables with too few servers getting stretched very thin. Also it didn't help that our gal liked to hang out at the far side of the bar and chat with the bartender while refills were needed, plates had to be cleared, checks needed to get settled and not just from us. * The other disappointment is that they're dessert menu is very weak. Vanilla and chocolate ice cream and two or three mostly chocolate centric items. With choices like that, why bother? * The music mix was odd. We went from Dave Matthews Band to at some point I think Ozzy to Air Supply. I don't know how any of that works together or if SiriusXM has a new station that I missed but either way, odd. Overall PB is still solid as the prices are decent and the menu particularly from the alcohol point of view is very diverse. Usually I'm a man of few words, but for this? This nightmare of an establishment? Where do I start? Not only did our food (a soup, salad, burger, and salmon) take nearly an hour and a half in a restaurant with only half the tables sat, but not a single sorry came out of anyone's mouth until we spoke up about it. Then when it did arrive, my medium burger turned up a delightfully blood red color. And with it taking around 20 minutes for our sever to notice and refill our waters every time, clearly they are very skilled in time management. If you're pressed for time, be sure to swing by here! You'll only be delayed about 4 hours! While I do appreciate the meal being comped, I feel like someone actually taking responsibility for the delay would have been awesome. And maybe if the food came out at once instead of a dish at a time over the span of 15 minutes i wouldn't be so critical... maybe. Not saying you shouldn't give it a shot, but be sure to clear your schedule for the night before you pull out your chair. read more

Our party of four arrived at 5:30 PM on a Saturday night. We ordered our meals, (without appetizers or alcohol) at 5:45 and finally got our food at 6:30. Thank goodness we made reservations!! The waitress never once came over to check on us. I had to track her down to tell her we had a show to go to at the State Theater which started at 7:00. Without an apology or smile, she said she would check on our food. Fifteen minutes later we got our dinners. Waiting forty-five minutes for a meal to arrive is not what I call good service. The waitress was clearly overwhelmed by how busy the restaurant was and it showed on her face. We felt like she was doing us a favor by even coming to our table. The only saving grace was the food. We ordered the turkey burger, the Centre Square burger which has Cave-aged cheddar (??), bacon jam, and a beer battered cod sandwich. The food was very good! We expected everything to come out cold, but we were pleasantly surprised that our meals were hot. Even the fries were hot. Ready to dig in, we realized we had no napkins, no utensils, and no ketchup. Flagged the server down again, and she gave us our utensils but no ketchup. We just reached over to an empty table next to us and took that ketchup from there but, it was empty! UGH! We had to scarf down our dinner and rush out. The service is why we won't be coming back, at least when it's a busy Saturday night, and a show is at the State Theater. Lunch might be a better experience. PS Everyone hated the pickles. After walking around town looking for somewhere to have Lubbock on a Sunday afternoon we stopped by Pearl's and are glad we did. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The chicken sandwich was presented nicely on the dish and tasted just as good. I liked the sweetness of the barbecue sauce. The fries were a bit overcooked but that didn't stop me from eating them. The burger was thick and juicy with melted gouda cheese. All in all the food and service was good. Don't forget to tip well. These workers deserve to be recognized. read more
