The next day I drove two hours from out of state to view and test drivr the car in person. When I arrived, Caroline greeted me and mentioned they were putting new brakes and rotors on the front and that it would be ready very soon to drive. As it was close to lunchtime, the employees were all setting up a group order from a fast food restaurant, and after Caroline learned that I was a huge pizza fan she personally ordered and bought me a large pie from a local spot. Who does that? One of the sweetest genuine people and what a super thoughtful gesture. She said I needed a large to take some home for my family to try. I proceeded to have lunch with the staff in their break room and enjoyed great conversation - mind you I have not purchased the car, let alone test drove it- and they were treating me like an old friend! At one point I joked that I would just come back daily for lunch! After a belly-full I test drove the car and Caroline made sure to let me feel the car on the hwy as well as city streets. I got to meet the owner (Phil) as well, and the hospitality continued throughout. After making the purchase, Phil said he could pick me up from the train station if I wanted to come back up to drive it home. I decided on shipping it, and Caroline went above and beyond to find a shipper and help coordinate- something that was not even their responsibility! She was extremely thorough and organized all the documents I needed including the papers for titling in my state. There was a delay in shipping partially due to the holiday weekend but Caroline continued to help by putting pressure on the shippers and even seeking potential alternatives if needed- amazing A+++ service! Folks- this place overflows with customer service. From the first second that I walked in til the moment I left, everyone I saw greeted me, spoke with me, made sure I was comfortable and contributed to the most stress-free car buying afternoon ever. Sell them your car, buy a car, have them locate a car for you- whatever you do, it is worth the visit! So refreshing to see a no haggle, no pressure, genuine experience in today's age.

We had to stop by after my workdays with our baby, and we were always welcomed without hesitation. That level of flexibility and kindness really stood out to us. He took the time to answer all of our questions and was always quick to follow up if he needed to track down additional information. We visited a some other dealerships during our search, and many of them tried to add aftermarket parts, extra fees, or showed us cars that didn't feel trustworthy. In contrast, Bert and the team at Modern Mazda made us feel confident and at ease every step of the way. At one point, my husband stopped in without an appointment, and Bert made time for him right away. When it came time to pick up the car, we were running behind, but Bert and his sales manager were accommodating and made sure everything went smoothly. The car was seen and the technicians insisted they didn't see how rodents were entering the vehicle and sent me off. Not too much later I had another occurrence where they chewed up the interior of the car and we returned and filed a claim. Once the part came in we brought the car in to be fixed where they finally found the place of entry for the mice but it was too late, the entire underside of the backseat and all the wiring was chewed up and destroyed. This turned into a month+ long project. My car was in the shop for 25 days before we were ever offered a loaner vehicle. I received mixed messages regularly regarding the status of the job and was told multiple times the car was ready for pickup just to be delayed another week, then another week. When we did receive the car back it was in HORRIBLE shape. It was left stained inside and out, with missing pieces and an ill fitting gasket. Where's the oversight of quality of work being put out? The same day we picked up the car, we had to return it so they could fix the poorly finished job. Once I picked up the car yet again, I took it home to realize pieces of the seatbelt were missing. Again, WHERES THE OVERSIGHT? Not to mention they had cut or snapped the car seat covers I had personally purchased for this vehicle. When I brought the car back for the fourth or fifth time, they couldn't fix the seatbelt issue and asked me to come back AGAIN in another few days. The manager was present when I returned, but walked away, no apology or acknowledgement of the shortcomings of his business. My experience was so horrific I ended up selling the car altogether. I wish I had listened to my friends who also had a poor experience here. Please head this warning.

This place will repair your car and will repair it at a fair price. You don't need to worry about…read moregetting ripped off. That is as much as I can say for a compliment. Customer service in my opinion is not good at all. This is just my personal experience, just the basic thing like remembering your phone number they don't do that right. They write your phone number on a piece of paper in front of them and never remember to call you. I had to give them my phone number every time I go there. I got my car repaired there 2/23/2011 and I had to call to find out the status of my car, no one bothered calling to let me know it was done or even call me to let me know what the repairs will be. They did extra repairs without my knowledge, I am glad they did what they did, but they should have at least called me. Also, my car needs another part, I asked the person there to look the price for me and call me to let me know (on 2/23/2011), you guessed it, no one called. I went there yesterday 3/16/2011, in person, to ask the same lazy guy there to call to get the pricing for me. He took my name and number on a piece of paper and said yeah definitely he would call, I was 99% sure he wasn't going to to do it, and hence, the motivation to write this review. I didn't even step out of the door, he immediately return to a conversation with his buddy in there, in a way of him showing me I was annoying him. I didn't think an auto repair place that you have given them plenty of business in the past will get annoyed at you potentially given them more business. Well, that is my view. I did not get a call (I waited all day till close of business) and that means they don't care. I prefer a place with better service, and at minimum, will take your phone number only one time and will remember to call. There are plenty of auto repair shops out there that have better service with better people. I would NOT return back to this place and give them any business. If you value good service like I do then this may not be the place for you. This has been my unique experience with this place, if others have better, great, but I did not. The lazy person they have in there working for them just cost them a customer, if they don't care about that then they should not be in business. Thanks to Yelp, you can easily search for a place with a good reputation. I've noted this and would save completely unnecessary headaches by going to places that are not very good.
