This is in one of those corner stores that look generic but is a hidden gem. We stayed at the Parc 55 Hilton and Mellis is located right on the corner. We ordered a two bagel sandwiches, coffee and tea. The bagels went toe to toe with other famous bagel spots. I had an everything with bacon, egg and avocado. Seriously hit the spot! I went back later for a carrot cake and devoured it within minutes. Such a sleeper - so worth the stop!

Great selection of items especially if you want a late night snack. They are also open pretty early if you need to grab something during your morning commute.

Close proximity to our hotel, fast service, and good coffee. There was an assortment of pastry choices, I had the cheese danish and it was delicious. A good spot to grab and go.

This hands down was one of THE BEST sandwiches I've ever had! The flavor was such a great and perfect combination of fresh and savory. I had intended to go to a place across the street but they were taking forever to let me take an order bc a dinner rush had just come in. I was getting hangry and so I looked up what was nearby and saw Mellis Cafe and it had even higher reviews than the place I was at. I now know why! You can smell the tasty food from down the corner walking up to it. The baked goods also looked fantastic. I had a chicken empanada as well. The person serving me said they were Algerian. It was my first time having Algerian cuisine but I NEED to have more!!

Great sandwiches! A rather large selection of items, hot and cold sandwiches, baked items. The baklava and cookies looked delicious! Coffee tasted great! The couple there was very friendly

This little bodega makes way better coffee and breakfast than I could ever have imagined. Great fresh baked goods and excellent sandwiches. Prices were great as well and the coffee was fresh and tasty! Limited seating but we were able to enjoy our breakfast while most grab and go. They've got a lot to offer for such a small place very impressive! Would definitely come back!

No frills bagel sandwich coffee shop. The sandwich is only $11 and super filling!!! What a great spot to grab a quick easy delicious bite! The Dutch crunch bread is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Is a must get for the perfect sandwich bite. The turkey sandwich I got automatically came with mayo and mustard which if I had known I wouldn't have asked for it but honestly it worked so well with the sandwich I actually enjoyed those condiments!

I absolutely love this spot, this really is the cutest little bodega in San Francisco. They have bagels, coffee, sandwiches, and much more. Me and my wife got a turkey sandwich on Dutch crunch and the bread was the star it was so fresh and delicious! It's right by the trolly carts if you want to grab a bite before a nice little ride. My daughter ordered the Nutella on a bagel and a water, she was satisfied. It came out to 19$ for everything which is pretty standard for California anyways. They were super friendly, and that's a compliment coming from service in San Francisco lol. They have tables in the front if you like to sit and people watch or just take a break from walking. This place truly is a 5. I'll definitely come back again and again. Next time I'll try the coffee

Ordered and walked out in the span of 10 min. Very italian deli with tiramisus and cannolis. Tons of italian snacks and puff pastries, and a convenient location to pickup anything from beers/wines to premade cannoli shells and gelato. One thing to note is you cannot customize the sandwich, not sure about the pizzas, which smelled delicious. They only make speciality sandwiches on their menu, but surely can't go wrong with any of the choices. They're packed with a sizeable amount of meat as well as greens. The half was enough to fill me up and they were kind enough to wrap them separately.

The fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, and quality bread make for a simple but perfectly executed sandwich, and the avocado addition makes it even better. The service is always friendly and efficient, whether you're stopping in for a quick lunch or taking your time looking through the shop. The atmosphere has that classic Italian deli feel -- casual, welcoming, and full of character. I also love that it's more than just a sandwich shop; the deli includes an Italian market with imported products, specialty items, and other treats that make it fun to browse while you're there. They also have multiple locations throughout San Francisco, which makes it convenient when you're craving a great Italian sandwich. The biggest downside is the price. Limoncello is definitely on the expensive side for a sandwich, especially if you add extras, so it's more of an occasional treat than an everyday lunch spot. But the quality of the ingredients and the overall experience keep me coming back. A great neighborhood deli for anyone looking for a fresh Italian sandwich, friendly service, and a little taste of Italy in the city.

I got the Carzle and the meats are definitely the star of the show here; the brisket and pastrami were so juicy, smoky and complimented all the veggies great. I don't see myself really coming here too often unfortunately, so many other cheaper and just as delicious eats in the city. But more than just the sandwich- the owner and all of the employees are incredibly kind and clearly care about their community. The regulars also have a great rapport with the owner and they honestly just give GOOD VIBES. The good vibes must have been contagious because we were behind a Romanian father and his two sons who ended up paying for the older woman in front of them. Def worth the visit if you're in the area!

But when you want a sandwich that only tastes like its ingredients, Irving Subs is the spot. Their Dutch crunch is famous for being fresh and actually crunchy. Their lettuce is shredded but fresh and crispy. The salt content is just enough to bring out the flavors. And the overall composition of their sandwiches are very well proportioned. You're not getting skimped, but you're also not biting into a mouthful of a packet of deli meat. They definitely know what they are doing. Double pastrami, horseradish, havarti, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, and pepperoncini. A lot going on, and it all came together. The horseradish and havarti gave it enough personality to stand apart from a standard pastrami sandwich, and the garlicky mayo tied everything together. The one casualty of DoorDash was sogginess by the time it arrived. That's not a knock on the sandwich, it's just the reality of ordering something like this for delivery. At $14.50 it's a hearty sandwich at a fair price. I'd recommend it, but eat in.
