Tri Tippin Sandwich (subbed garlic butter instead of bbq, and pepper jack cheese instead of Swiss)
    Christine S.

The restaurant we planned to grab lunch at was closed, so we walked a few blocks and ended up finding this deli. Ordering takes a minute to figure out. You start in the back toward the center to place your order, then move to line up on the left side to pick it up and add toppings to hot sandwiches. After that, you bring everything to the front to pay. Quite few people, us included, were a little unsure where to go next. The sandwiches made up for it. I got the tri tip special with garlic butter and swapped the Swiss for pepperjack. The meat was sliced thin and really tender, and the garlic butter a perfect addition. I'm not usually big on sauces, but they have a good variety of house options if that's your thing. We'll definitely be back. I was also happy to see they have another location in San Bruno.

I LOVE The Boy's Deli. My friend put me on about a year ago and I've been obsessed since. The line is usually always long but it's so worth the wait! It is located within a store so there's no tables or any space to sit, just order to go. Vegetarians try my order!! -Sourdough roll toasted (or Dutch crunch depending on the day) -Mozzarella cheese -Sriracha mayo -Mustard -Lettuce -Onions -Pickles -Pepperoncini -Salt + pepper -Oil + vinegar

Disappointed with portions. Not worth the cost. All pictures online advertised a much bigger sandwich.

Deli and market on busy Polk Street. Big sandwich board full of choices. Lots of ingredients featuring Boar's Head products. I'm not a huge fan of BH, but the huge selections here is unmistakable. My Hb likes pastrami sandwiches so I got us the Lightweight Tipsy Sandwich to try. It has hot pastrami brisket, Swiss cheese, spicy mayo and coleslaw on Dutch crunch roll. Pretty good. Ambiance is of a busy market /deli. Located on Polk between Green and Vallejo.

What a gem! We visited The Boys' Deli on a Sunday afternoon and found it pretty busy. The sandwich counter is located in the back of a convenience store. There's no seating and service is quick and all-business, as it should be. I chose the Sanfranpsycho (no bacon) on Dutch Crunch bread and my partner ordered The Freak, also on Dutch Crunch. Our sandwiches were toasted and ready in about 5 minutes. They were huge! The texture of the Dutch Crunch was perfect, and biting into the crisp outer layer was so satisfying. The turkey, gouda, pesto, garlic spread and remoulade were super flavorful together. My partner said The Freak was also incredible. Highly recommend stopping by for a quick, filling lunch!

This is my first time here but not first time eating a Dutch crunch. I've had one before but this place was super good! The spot is super small but my man working was grinding. The system he had was you order in the middle and then move to the left for your toppings. Service was super fast for how busy it was and for one person working. I would do some research or get some recs before going in especially when it's busy. There is a piece of paper in the front with their top 5 sandwiches if you absolutely don't know what you want. Judging by what I had and what my girlfriends told me, everything is good. You can also make your own but I felt like I should try at least a few of their signatures before making my own. I ended up getting the Sandlot on a Dutch crutch with jalapeños for some elevated spice. I do gotta say, this place does not skimp. You get what you pay for and if not more than that. Im a big guy and usually end up eating more than one sandwich or eating my girlfriends left overs but this one got me stuffed. Overall amazing sandwich and an awesome recommendation for first timers looking for a good bite.

Came on a Tuesday during lunch time. The store is pretty small so it's a little confusing where to order and where to wait to pick up. Waited around 7 minutes after ordering and it came up to be around $18. The Dutch crunch was VERY good, had a great crunch to it. The sandwich was also very filling! It was pretty good but I just found it a little more on the expensive side while comparing it to other sandwich places. It's a great place though for a quick sandwich pick up if you're in the area! I would recommend ordering ahead of time online.

Found The Boys' Deli on Yelp while in SF for the weekend and I'm so glad we did! The store was spotless, busy, and the two sandwich makers were fast and precise! Even a SF Officer was in there getting a sandwich. Our sandwiches were heavy & loaded with all their delicious toppings. We Ordered The Italian Sub and Chicken Bacon Ranch. Both sandwiches were amazing and we'll definitely be back when we're in the area!

This place is a must-try if you are craving a sandwich in San Francisco! My friend and I stumbled upon this "hidden" gem while looking for a place to grab a quick lunch. They have a ton of different options (as well as a build-your-own), so there is something for everybody! I got the Sanfranpsycho, which I believe is one of their more popular options, and I LOVED it! This sandwich had honey turkey, gouda, bacon, pesto, garlic spread, and remoulade, as well as some customizable additions like lettuce. Their dutch crunch was perfect, crunchy but not hard. My friend got theThe Freak, which had pastrami brisket, chipotle gouda cheese, bacon, honey mustard, sriracha mayo, onions, and jalapeño. He loved his as well! Overall this was a great experience and I definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the area!

Nestled in the back of a market, you'll find The Boys' Deli. They have a wide variety of sandwich options and a handful of bread choices. Came in on a Sunday morning, found street parking, and there was no wait. I ordered the Italian Sub on Dutch Crunch and it came out within 5 minutes. The sandwich was packed and very good. A bit wet, probably due to the mayo + oil and vinegar + tomato combo, but still very good. The bread was toasted beautifully as well. I felt like the price of $19 for a sandwich was a bit steep, but this is the city after all.

The Freak 7.5/10 - Dutch crunch bread was warm and toasty with nice outer crunch. Overall condiment combo was good but the aioli should've been thicker. You order in the center line and then line up again on the left to finish the sandwich. No indoor seating, eat at Helen Wills Park!

    The Freak

This is a local joint that is always spot on. I think the quality of ingredients, especially the bread, really sets this sandwich apart from any other sandwich in the city. Service is no frills. You better know what you're getting when you get up to the counter. Price point is actually super solid for the quality and portions. I'm a frequent customer and have never once been let down by the quality and price ratio.

Solid deli sandwich, enjoyed the sauciness from spicy mayo and pesto in the sanfranpsycho sando. The spicy mayo has a kick which i really enjoy! Went in at ~4pm on a weekend and wheat roll was the only available bread but it ended up being good.

Some sandwiches come with lots of meats and some are saucy and some get cheesy like some in SF. There are some famous and historical places to grab sandwiches in North Beach like Molinari and Freddie's. There is also a place on Columbus Avenue by Joe DiMaggio playground park on which has a French name and serves up some of San Francisco finest sandwiches and it's called" Le Sandwich ". On a Winter season stroll in the beginning of 2026 , I landed at Le Sandwich. This place has lots of sandwiches available made by Chef Elias. I decided to try their Primo ( means Prime in Italian) sandwich. I have to say this is one of the tastiest sandwiches I had in San Francisco. It had meats which were tender such as Genoa Salami, coppa, and ham. It's has melting provolone which made it cheesy like some in SF. They also have FikaLove which is baked goods available like chocolate croissants and cinnamon buns for Fika( Swedish for Coffee break). San Francisco is the place where you can get international foods without the" jet lag" by a park close by were as a kid I use play "tag"and the sandwiches are so big they stick out the " paper bag "and inside has of lots decor from international countries including the "USA flag". The gentleman at the register was nice and welcoming. They have a great variety of food to choose from, including sandwiches, burgers, spaghetti, pizza, wings, and more. This was hands down the BEST food we had during our 4-day visit to San Francisco! I especially want to give a huge shout-out to the cook, Victor! You may think, "It's just pizza and wings," but NO--Victor made everything to perfection! The wings were cooked well done, just how we like them, with the perfect crispy texture. The pizza was delicious too! I only wish we had found this place on our first day. We ended up having dinner here on the last two nights of our vacation because we loved it that much! They also offer a 3% discount if you pay with cash. We paid around $35 for a small pizza (6 slices) 10 wings, and a drink. It was more than enough food for two people, and we even had leftover pizza. if you buy 1 slice of pizza the slices are pretty big. Other places we were spending almost $50 for two people each meal. I truly hope this place stays in business for many years to come. Great food, friendly service, good portions, and reasonable prices. If you're in San Francisco, give this place a try--you won't regret it! Five stars from us!
