I haven't been to mellow mushroom in years and let me tell you last time exceeded my expectations. We came in around 5 and were sat immediately. Now I remember mellow mushroom being good but it was more than good it was delicious, from the appetizers to the main course and drinks and service it was an all around great experience. My friend and I came here with our 3 kids as a last meal before she leaves to Korea which is bittersweet but we truly got to enjoy our last meal together. We started with the cheese pizza rolls and pretzel bites with the cheese sauce both were amazing. For dinner i got a medium pizza that I got to split I did half white pizza half mushroom both were amazing, my oldest got some chicken wings and my daughter went with the kids meal with the chicken tenders. My friend got a pepperoni pizza and her son also got the kids meal but with the cheese bread pizza. We also ordered a margarita which was super strong but tasty. Hannah was our server Friday . She was delightful. But two of us ordered vegan pizzas with no butter or Parmesan on the crust. Richard got his, but mine had to be remade. We only had about an hour for dinner because we had met our daughter and were taking her cat to our house back due to the storm arriving this weekend and the fear she would lose power for days. So the delay made things less relaxing. They were kind enough to discount the pizza without us asking. So they took responsibility. That means we would return due to the service! Had been craving some good pizza for a while and finally opted to give Mellow Mushroom a try. It had been years since I've set foot in this place so I was a little skeptical but boy was I pleasantly surprised. Looks like they've renovated a bit since I've been here. The aesthetic is funky and vibrant. I was seated downstairs within seconds upon arrival. Now, I will say it was a slow night as there were maybe 7-8 people eating at the time but the wait staff was friendly and attentive. The pizza was made to order so it took a little time but I definitely don't mind waiting for food that's made to order. It was cool to see the staff working on the pizza orders as they were trickling in. I ordered the Super Pepp and man was it good!!!! It was loaded with pepperoni, a spoonful of fresh ricotta cheese and then drizzled with hot honey. It was sweet, savory, and spicy. The crust was amazing as well. Can't say I ever had rubbery lukewarm wings that are supposedly cooked to order. The calzone was terrible. Entirely too much dough and therefore undercooked, and also lukewarm. The pizza was good. The kids devoured their pizza and then wanted more. Our server was very good. There were not a lot of people in the restraunt at 5 pm. She put a couple of tables together because we did not want to worry about the kids at a high top table. The decor was nice. With only a couple of tables in use, it was rather noisy. Danny (short for Daniel) was AMAZING!! His funky black hat, calm & cool demeanor, and strength to push in chairs (I had trouble pushing mine in as I am not as strong as Danny (short for Daniel)). There was a slight wait on a Friday night, but that's to be expected. Our waiter Jeremywas outstanding! We wanted a small salad, but only the big salads had much variety. So I got a basic salad and it was nice and fresh. We got a pepperoni and sausage pizza and it was excellent. Crust was perfect and flavorful, it wasn't greasy (despite being all meat) and it was enough for 2 adults and a toddler with leftovers for the next day. This is our go to pizza place! read more

We stopped here after moving our son out of the dorms at USC. They were not particularly busy but we were told there would be a 10-15 min wait. There were several open tables on the ground floor but either needed bussing or wiping down. The host did not seem to be in any hurry to greet or seat. Our waitress Kelly was great. It was delicious with fresh greens and tomatoes on it. My older son had the Merry Prankster pizza and said if was good. My other son and my husband both had calzones. They liked their food. She was not only super helpful and patient but also managed to get every order right with a smile. Gali kept us posted about the wait time and when to expect our food which is always helpful when out with a large group. Her recommendations, especially the Thai wings, were on point. Do yourself a favor and get you some. Spinach dip was 10/10 too. The food was good all around. We had about five different pizzas, wings, cal zones, and salads so there is something for everybody. I was very disappointed in my recent experience at Mellow mushroom. They must be under new management because it was a very different experience from the past. When we walked in we should have walked out because it looked run down and in the middle of renovations. It was my 9 year olds bday so he insisted and we complied. The customer service was meh...and please whatever you do, do not order a drink with cherries they are old and discolored and look dangerous. The bathrooms had no soap yes you read that right no soap luckily I had hand sanitizer. Apparently they are short staffed and so we had to wait for a while. Once we got our food I was pleasantly surprised that it was pretty good. It wasn't up to previous standards but it was good. Me and my wife met our Son and girlfriend at MM. we love the pizza brand wherever they are. It was a busy night but our waitress Carley provided Five Star Service. First of all, I must say that my husband is obsessed with the Chicken Caesar salad here! He claims they have the best one in town: fresh romaine, shaved Parmesan, house-made croutons, and house-made Caesar dressing. They have tons of options if you are vegetarian or gluten-free. I usually get the Holy Shiitake pizza when I come here because the flavors are so unique. The customer service was also good. We went in on a Friday evening, and there were two parties in front of us. We were seated fairly quickly in the upstairs area. They gave us a booster seat for our son, and there were several children present in the restaurant. Our server Alex was spot on. She accidentally brought my husband unsweetened tea, but corrected it. We swung by Mellow to grab something familiar before we went to a show. The hostess let us know there was a 25 minute wait unless we wanted bar seating. We went upstairs to the bar and were greeted by one of the two bartenders. We ordered the cinnamon sugar pretzels but were told they were out of cinnamon. Honestly an easy fix considering how many grocery stores are in the area but we ordered pretzel bites and a small pizza to share instead. Pretzel bites arrived after 45 minutes and pizza arrived 15 minutes later. The pretzel bites were so much smaller than the ones at our home location. What a stellar safe, polite, and efficient curb side service at this Mellow Mushroom restaurant! You can park safely for free at the back of the restaurant thanks to their dedicated parking lot. This Mellow Mushroom restaurant is located a short drive from the South Carolina state house and a cathedral. Both pizzas were just freshly made and still warm from the oven. I ordered the pizzas online on their easy to navigate website and drove afterwards to pick them up at their Mellow Mushroom restaurant. When I parked the car on their dedicated parking lot, I gave a call to their receptionist. A staff member wearing a face mask kindly put both pizzas on the hood of my car immediately. Both large pizzas were delicious, filled generously with fresh and tasty ingredients. Their warm crusts were pillowy and satisfying. The plant-based high-protein large pizza with tempeh, mushrooms, spinach, red sauce, no cheese, no butter, and no dairy was so good! I ate four slices in one setting... The large indulgent pizza bacon, mushrooms, and cheese was full of flavor.
