The nicest staff on the planet. Honestly - the staff are just awesome! I picked up a couple of pizzas for the nurses at the hospital where my mother is receiving care, and while waiting for the pick-up order - I sauntered over to the bar and ordered an IPA. The bar tender was incredibly knowledgeable and steered me around the draft options. It was a delightful conversation. That led to me returning to the Magic Mushroom pizza chain for a late night dinner and another "local" (I guess it's from the city of Albany) beer and a GF pizza. It was a great end to a very long day and I want to send a special thank you to the great bartender and the service team. Do yourself a favor - go to the Magic Mushroom and sit at the bar and ask the bartender for his current favorite beer. You will not be disappointed. We go to Mellow Mushroom at least once or twice a month! We enjoy it but it's The only decent pizza restaurant in Columbus besides a few others. Sometimes they're not consistent on their pizzas but if you remind them that you didn't get enough meat the last time you went, usually they will accommodate! Service was slower than standard. The environment was groovy and very hip. For drinks we ordered blue moon beer and a strawberry shakedown. The beer was crisp and refreshing. The strawberry shakedown was superb but had so much ice that there was hardly any drink. For appetizers we ordered pretzels with beer cheese and marinara. The scratch made pretzels were some of the best, they just needed some sort of salt. The beer cheese wasn't my favorite but the Mariana was AMAZING. We couldn't decide so ordered two half n half pies. The white rabbit was a perfect selection for the vegetarian in our group- it offered a variety of flavor profiles and options on one kind of pizza that helped her enjoy her experience. The staff is very friendly and the food is just as awesome. They actually have a very nice selection of beer on tap as well. Trivia tuesdays and military mondays! Even the bathroom signs are cute. Seating is a little cramped, but that's not a biggie once you get the food. Bear in mind, Mellow Mushroom isn't for those watching their weight. I know I could only have so much of the salad pizza before feeling overly full, and while their pretzels are awesome, they're pretty saturated with oil. My first time eating at mellow mushroom, they are literally everywhere in GA, so I kinda stayed away from it for a while but today was the day. Sorry no pictures, I was so hungry I dove right into my Pepperoni , Sausage and Mushroom pie ... YUM! The crust is one of the best I've had in a while , it's the highlight of the pizza for me, standard pepperoni and Sausage , the cheese has a nice bite/pull to it overall good pie. Mellow Mushroom currently allows customers to dine-in or order takeout. They also offer gluten free crust for most of their pizzas and have some vegetarian dishes. I ordered a Mighty Meat pizza with gluten free crust and it was Amazing! I honestly think their gluten free crust is better than the regular crust. The workers were very welcoming and kind so the service was really nice. Each worker was wearing their mask correctly and the tables were marked off so that each group would be 6 feet apart. Therefore, it seems like they are taken as many COVID precautions as possible. When it comes to sustainability, our food was severed on washable plates and we were given metal silverware so not much plastic is used while eating inside. Once we got Togo boxes and drinks, we were getting a cardboard pizza box and paper cups with plastic lids and straws. read more

Food was delicious, hot and huge portions. I had a chicken calzone, it was yummy. I had lunch and enough to share the next day. I was even more impressed with the magic mushroom soup! It was delicious, and I've never had anything like it. It was different and unique, and one of the best soups I've ever had. Personally, I feel the food is a bit overpriced. It's definitely not bad, it's just definitely nothing special. The drinks were good though, I had a Shroom Tea and one I can't remember the name of (it was purple and tasted like adult grape kool-aid). My husband, friend, and I were there for my dad's birthday and ended up having the hummus we shared comped because they forgot it initially. I thought that was very kind of the waitress considering it wasn't her fault the kitchen didn't make it. We held an event at MM and were thoroughly pleased with the entire process. All the staff was very attentive and were one step ahead of us. The food turned out great and I enjoyed the beer selection as well. The true test of a group dinner is if the check comes out correctly. Everyone got their own bill and it was on point!
