What a terrible experience. On a long drive home, we decided we needed something better than fast food and had always heard good things about the chain. The service may have been friendly, but the delivery of food was awful! Both of my kids ordered French bread pizza, my wife and I ordered salads and their pretzels as an appetizer. It took a pretty long time to see any food, but we figured good food takes a little while. Our salads and soup didn't arrive until at least 30 minutes after our son's pizza arrived, and it was at least another 10 minutes until our daughter's entree (which was the same thing as our son's) was supposed to arrive. We asked to cancel the order, and they took it off our our bill. Honestly, they should have taken EVERYTHING off our bill. Our pretzels tasted pretty good, but by then, we were STARVING. Half way through finishing our pretzels, the server brought a fourth pretzel that wasn't burnt. That was when we noticed that the first three were completely burnt and blanketed with Parmesan to cover it up. Frankly, they might want to change their recipe to "burnt pretzels". The salads did not taste fresh. The Caesar had WAY too much dressing, but probably covering its imperfections. First, how does a soup and salad take 45 minutes to prepare? Second, how can a server allow food to come out that spread apart and not tell a manager? I was actually hoping to see a manager, but there wasn't one to be found. Very poor service. Wanted some drinks and pizza. Beer came very slow so I only ordered one beer. Originally ordered 3 pizzas but our server "Lil Frames" said they looked all over but couldn't find the pork for the Bar B Que pizza. That was very strange. Ended up only getting two. On the way to Pennsylvania we decided to stop here for lunch. So we get in and seated and I start telling my 2 y.o. daughter about how they flip the pizza dough and whatnot. Long story short ended up getting free show for her to watch them flip the dough and our own "practice dough" for her. Got the Wowie Maui, veggie calzone, and french bread pizza with apples for the lil one. All came out delicious and fresh. Allergen friendly for my wifes tomato allergy. Good food! The good was delicious and the service was good. The menu had a wide selection and the restaurant itself was very clean and tidy. It was a little pricey ($60 for 3 people for lunch) and it took a while too recieve our food, which was unfortunate since I was starving. This restaurant is extremely dirty and the kitchen staff plays entirely too much with the food. Witnessed a kitchen staff throwing pepperoni slices across the kitchen to other employees to catch with their mouth. My server brought out our pizzas and then picked up dirty a covid mask off the floor, held it over my pizza and said hey you dropped this. This was not my mask. That was enough. It was time to go. I specifically came to a Mellow Mushroom because I went here years ago with my family on a road trip. I drove 47 miles off route to do so today. Upon walking in, there were no hosts and no bartenders to take an order. I walked around for several minutes and the kitchen employees did not even look up. I then went back outside to order online, and arrived as the food was expected to be finished. Inside I was greeted coldly by a hostess who was not there before, and then the lady she sent me to walked away and had a full personal conversation with the kitchen staff while I was standing there, obviously waiting to speak to them. I had to physically make eye contact with the staff, and they physically had to ask this woman to help me. She was then absolutely rude, my food was not ready, and then was rude again when she handed me the food. I even said thank you, and she glared at me and turned her back without a word to finish her conversation. HORRIBLE EXPERIANCE. I will never be doing this again, and I wasted an hour of driving on a mediocre half assed pizza and horrific service. Just go to Dominos instead. read more

Been here one time. Had the buffalo chicken pizza. I was skeptical when it was ordered but I ate 3 pieces. Nice waitresses. Clean restaurant and restroom, during my visit. Picture this... A restaurant that has about 4 tables of people in the main dining area and three waitresses. Our waitress had two booths that she was serving, on our side. Perhaps she was serving in the bar area, where there are bar height tables, another two parties were seated in there (one was a party of two, the other a party of 4) We wait for our food for about 25 minutes. We ordered as our drink order was set down. I ask the waitress. When our food will be out. She checks. Comes back and says there's a computer issue. Our pizza hasn't even been started. Meanwhile, the patrons around us have been served. Some that arrived after us, some before. I get it. We're human. Technology isn't always great... mistakes can be made. I just don't think that the computer had an issue with just our order. I really think our waitress forgot to put it in. Of course this is just me speculating. The manager came. Comped our food, I went to the bar area to make change for a tip and noticed the other diners. Problem with me, I feel like an excuse was made, that wasn't true. If you let me know you messed up, all is forgiven. Just don't bs me. Ps. This was my first time at this chain. Pizza was good, not cooked through. Middle was cold, crust was hot. Doubt I'll be back. Pizza had good flavor, but it was lukewarm in the center and the plate was watery, so the bottom crust was soggy. Definitely not worth $25! I went to wash my hands on the way out, and a waitress (NOT MINE THANK GOD) walked out of the stall and out of the bathroom without washing her hands. Our waitress has such a bad attitude, it made this experience worse. We ordered sandwiches since we were traveling and wanted it quick. HA! The table next to us sat after us, got their appetizers AND their pizzas all before us. I finally tracked down Ms Attitude and asked her what was going on. My first time to one of these Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers and the grooviest pizza place couldn't have been cooler!! Trippy art.. far out red tiling in the bathroom and colorful retro psychedelia surrounds this place. . I got the vegan cheese classic pie. As I'm from NY I asked for it extra crispy and they didn't fail to meet my expectations. Also had very healthy options on menu and gmo free tofu garden salad my friend got and loved. My hubby got a classic pepperoni pizza.. friendly staff, clean bathrooms.. super funky decor.. and actually delicious pizza being so far away from the northeast pizza belt! Went here Monday night (Memorial Day) in a group of 7 adults and 6 kids. Great service by our younger server. Actually attentive for when people were coming up to the end of their beverages and kept checking in to see if we needed anything else (napkins). Food took a bit long which can be expected from such a large group. Food is really good, don't even notice the missing gluten in the gluten free crusts. A good GF crust is hard to come by...this is not one of those places. Properly cooked and great tasting. Only hang up was they gave us three menus when we sat down and one to us had to go gab more from the front. Also didn't have any extra plates when the apps and food came so we had to wait on that. read more

It's amazing how two stores owned by the same person can be so different. The Myrtle Beach store is excellent with stellar service and quality and the Florence store sucks in every regard. I ordered the same pizza and salad at each store and in Myrtle Beach it was way better than Florence. In Florence the cooks do not know how to cook bacon and if you order magical mystery tour pizza you will likely end up with a Greek pizza due to incompetent people. My advice is to not ever visit the Florence location because if they can screw it up they will screw it up. Myrtle Beach on 21st is stellar in every regard. Also for some reason the cooks yell and scream and constantly drop things in Florence. Not the place to eat for a relaxing supper. read more

Unfortunately I didn't care much for the margarita pizza - the whole wheat crust was like soaked cardboard and there was not much cheese on the pizza. Staple spot as I regularly travel, always good for great beer selection and decent, reliable menu. Of all I've been to, the service here makes it the worst I've seen. This gal was in the weeds when I arrived ( four at the bar, two tables ). Getting a beer order in was tough, but I guess I should learn to be more aggressive... Mellow mush tenders are typically pretty knowledgable but not this sud-slinger. While I appreciate the honesty, one thing I love about MM is talking beer with beer people; today is clearly not the day. Possibly the only place to get a craft beer in the area, I'll likely be back next time I'm stuck here, but I may need to be a bit more forward next time I'm the only one without a drink at the nearly empty bar... I invited a friend to lunch and decide to try this because on-line it looked like a pub and it's new. It had a nice sculpture of a moving ball in water at the entrance, the rest looked like a grade school classroom and cafeteria combined. The menu is big and the food was tasty. The service was not good. Friendly but the servers look like they are sloppy in the uniform they have to wear. The timing was also bad. We were asked if we wanted our salad as an appetizer, we said yes. Then we waited and waited for a long time. Finally they arrived, and of course, shortly after here comes the pizza, so now the pizza sits and gets cold while we finish the salad. I don't think this place will be a young adult hangout like it is in college locations, it will become a child's party place. read more
