Our waitress, Alivia, was so sweet and attentive to us. Food & drinks were brought out quick. The appetizer rolls were delicious. My husband and I shared a pizza which was good. The crust is for sure the best pizza crust in Greenville. I am subtracting one star from my rating because they have changed the menu up some and my favorite pizza, The Merry Prankster, is no longer on the menu. The menu seems smaller than it once was. We ordered a pizza to take back to the hotel. Big mistake. Big, big mistake. Traffic in Greenville is hell. Nothing moves orderly. The road system needs serious work and updating. We ordered half pepperoni half mighty meat. When we got back to the room my husband asked if I just ordered pepperoni. I replied no, half is pepperoni. He was about right. It looked like there was A spattering of meat crumbs, not even enough to taste. Called to complain. I left a message for him to call back. He had cashier to call me back saying I could come back and get another pizza. In this traffic, no thanks . Do better next time. I have really started liking this establishment more and more. My go to now is their chefs salad with the chicken on top of it. It's very fresh and super tasty. Their pizzas are also very consistently good. The service has always been outstanding whether you're at a table or at the bar. The manager is also super friendly and is there on site for you if you need an elevated assistance.Outside seating in Greenville is at a premium and Mellow Mushroom has a fantastic outside dining area. We usually really enjoy coming here. Definitely off their game tonight (10/8). Pizza was cold, chicken caesar salad had no chicken. After mentioning this after a while they brought some finely chopped up cold chicken in a little plastic cup. Typically the chicken caesar salad is very good with nice slices of freshly grilled chicken. Raised concerns a couple times suggested maybe they want to just make my wife a new salad. I have not physically been to Mellow Mushroom to sit and eat but I have ordered from there multiple times. They can be a bit pricey however the pizza and appetizers are worth it. I love their crust because it reminds me slightly of NY pizza again slightly. But it's delicious along with their red sauce and cheese and toppings. First time I tried this place it was really good so decided to go back again while traveling through, this time I ordered a small with pepperoni and portobello mushrooms to go. Pizza was good but barely put any mushrooms on it, I think they were actually those baby bellas. Asked why so few and the response I got from the on duty manager was "you want me to go get the cook" pretty lame response in my book instead of handling the issue. This Mellow Mushroom in Greenville is located right outside of the large shopping mall in town. (It is a freestanding location, though.) I've been here several times, and every time (pre-pandemic and during), I've sat outside. Regarding food, this location is just like all the others I've visited, so I won't spent time here talking about it. What sets this particular MM apart from the others is their large, covered patio and their great service. The bartenders and waitstaff are always friendly, knowledgable, and have taken the time to check in on my table. Prior to the pandemic, my workplace would host large gatherings (i.e., 20-50) here once a year. Mellow Mushroom always accommodated this, with minimal confusion or issues with payment. I've been to this location many times when I was in the area for Dr. Visits with my husband, this time I took my niece here because I knew it was a good place to go. We were seated after a few minutes of wait time ( just dead time so low staff,no biggie) and greeted warmly. I ordered us the bruschetta as an appetizer because I had it before and it surpassed my own and I knew my niece loved mine and requested I make it often. Once it came she said it looked different than mine which is true cuz mine wasn't as fancy. Onto the restaurants version. It was perfectly crusted baguette bread drizzled with just enough olive oil and toasted to perfection I had the bruschetta on it which to those that don't know is tomatoes of blanched boiled cut up with a bunch of herbs and olive oil. I was topped with a dark aged balsamic vinegar it was really good along with fresh crumbled feta cheese. Still after the second time of me having this here this location best bruschetta I've ever had hands down. On to the meals I never had their actual pizza and heard that it was great and my husband wanted me to bring some home for him so I did order a small pepperoni Pizza to Go and he said he liked it when I get home but keep in mind by the time he ate it it wasn't like hot out of the oven so I wouldn't review that until I actually have it in the shop at the time it comes out. But I got the Phillies steak and cheese I opted for the half not the whole but is perfect it wasn't a really toasted it wasn't a really cooked as far as the steak goes properly seasoned I opted for the way that is intended to be made no substitution so I had the green peppers and everything that came on it and the melted provolone cheese I did add mayonnaise to it once it got there I'm just give it a little bit more liquid thing I guess to bite into so it wasn't so dry. But it would have been fine without it but I just like mayonnaise. Anyway I couldn't eat it all ate it later on that night for dinner and I think I even had some following afternoon for lunch it's the third time I've had that one just as good they're very consistent at this restaurant which is what I like which is why I decided to go ahead and make a review. I just started making reviews on Yelp after my anniversary to Chelsea restaurant New Bern I'm sure you can find it if you can look through my history or whatever. But I figured I'll just start making reviews on places that I go. My niece got a cheeseburger I was believe called a ritz burger she said it was a really great cheeseburger probably seasoned well done tasted fantastic great toppings and everything she kept it as it was as well she went on and on about the side potatoes that actually came with the meal and it was like a roasted baby yukons or maybe even fingerling but more rounded potatoes with what tasted like salt pepper garlic and there's little kick something and there's like Cayenne or maybe human or something in there and it was also sauteed and onions it was really good I did try one. As far as drinks go we just had teas nothing special about those teas follow granted some restaurants teas are better than the others and I'm picky about tea but they do do their tea well. The waitress was good we weren't checked in as often as I was usually accustomed to when we visit there but I didn't mind it I mean it didn't affect her tip or the performance of the food or the you know the the ambiance or anything like that it actually will let us have more of a conversation so I didn't mind that at all but just wanted to let you guys know that I do usually get checked on more just I wasn't as much of this particular trip. But again I think it was just because they didn't have very many people on staff because it was kind of dead in the restaurant at the time and we went at like 1:30 2:00 in the afternoon so it was a right after the lunch rush I'm sure maybe other people on break or lunch or whatever but there wasn't that many people on staff that I saw actually in the lobby area when they could have been on the back who knows. If you ever want to make your own pizza this place sells their dough for about $5! This can help you make your cray which is super worth. I came here on a Tuesday and it was a $5 deal of one small pizza with one topping. My friends also got this. I thought it was going to be a small pizza but it was huge for one person! If you're like me and can't eat a lot you'll definitely have leftovers for the next day. My friends however didn't get a lot of pepperonis as their topping. They were pretty inconsistent with how much they gave. I even asked for Italian sausage pizza to go and it didn't even look like there was any sausage on that pizza. I'm not sure if the day I went was bad or not but it wasn't a busy day at all. Looked like three people were at the register just hanging around. And there was one bartender. I sat at a table near the bartender who was suppose to serve us. He never came to us. We waited a long time just to get water. We had no silverware or napkins. Stopped in for a drink or two waiting on my bike to get serviced. Very laid back atmosphere. The bartender (CG) was very knowledgeable on how to make an old fashion and it was great.
