Popped in with my husband after a Dodgers game a few weeks ago. From the outside, it looks pretty unassuming, but the interior is a little spacious with several lounging areas. The drink menu is extensive, and the overall vibe is casual and chill. We were still in our jerseys, which made us feel a bit out of place at first, but there were a few other fans inside. Night out in LA. Parking: Welcome to LA where finding a parking spot sucks a--. Highly recommend getting dropped off or carpooling. We got lucky with steering parking two streets away. Ambiance/Environment: Looove the vibes here. They have a small space, so it can get hot real quick. They'll check IDs at the entrance. There's in n out privileges until a certain time. Music: If you're into house music, then this is the lounge for you. They have different DJs during each set. Drinks: They offer beer, cocktails, and wine. Melody Lounge is my MOST FAVORITE HIDDEN BAR OF 2026 SO FAR! You can easily walk past by, thinking its some run down or closed looking restaurant or warehouse looking building.... its tattered fading red curtains gently billowing.... you do a double take, you try to peek inbetween and its all dark.... you decide to jump in anyways and your eyes quickly adjust to beautiful red lanterns hanging in the ceiling, a quaint little bar on its right and seated corners in the left.... move to the bar, meet Sam and start enjoying the scene. You're here to stay and savor the experience. OC holds no flame to these LA vibes. Lots of cool people, they carry local beers and the bartender can serve up some awesome drinks. I was looking for a bar to watch the World Cup USA vs Belgium match which would not be overcrowded. There was hardly anyone here to watch the game so it was perfect to sit back and relax while we cheered for USA. They have a great selection of micro beers on tap and other mixed drinks. They don't offer dive bar rates so expect to pay from 8 to 12 bucks per glass of beer, they accept credit cards. read more

Seductive low light cocktail bar perfect for an intimate night. The compact space is inviting, serves excellent drinks, and plays music for the culture. I've been here 3 times now and the energy is always warm. The staff and patrons are always easy going and sociable. Their menu has a good range of craft cocktails and simple drinks for a bargain fix. There isn't much room to dance on a busier night but hanging around under the lanterns or on their lounge couches is perfect for a night cap. I'm a proud regular and excited to put more friends on this find. It's a true Chinatown gem that I hope sticks around forever. read more

It seems like this place could get a little crowded later in the night, but I've been here a couple times earlier in the evening or later in the afternoon to meet up with friends for a drink. During that time this place could be really chill and the service is really friendly. They have a nice cocktail menu as well as some nice craft beers available. There's a pretty solid selection of spirits as well with a couple of rare bottles from time to time. Overall, this place is a great place to meet up with friends for a drink. Especially if you're going to other places in the area. It is in Chinatown so depending on the time of day parking could be a little tricky. I found some metered street parking close by. read more

Say what you will about the area surrounding this bar (slightly sketch) but it's the closest late night bar to Dodger Stadium and if you're willing to take a walk down the hill (20-30 minute walk from the dodger "city gate" for an able bodied person) - is a great pit stop between the stadium and the A Metro light rail train in Chinatown. I always have a blast here and it's flooded with Dodger fans. The Service is always super quick and the ambiance is Dodger centric yet perfect for China town. Cocktail and beer bar, so no food. If I can, I stop here every time I come through. Tonight, the Dodgers clinched their Division and it was a party of Dodger fans celebrating their win over the Padres! Highly recommended! Be cautious when starting a tab with a credit card. Always ask for your receipt at the end and review it carefully! I was overcharged nearly three times for drinks I didn't order. Since the bartender returned my card immediately when I first ordered, it would have been easy to leave without thinking about signing off on the final bill. Thankfully, I caught the mistake before leaving. To the server's credit, she did refund me, but I was still charged twice for the credit card swipe/refund fees. As someone who used to bartend, I understand mistakes happen -- but this could have been a costly one if I hadn't checked. read more

Stopped by on Valentine's Day for a quick pre dinner drink. Ambience was very romantic with the low lights and lanterns. Ton of couples out that night so seating was scarce. However they were right about to open the space up for the dance floor. The bartender was great and was attentive to all the new patrons who were waiting to order. Drinks were made promptly and tasted great. They have a complete menu of interesting cocktails. The one I had was delicious and I really liked the little aesthetic touches of the chicharron. Been here several times and it's a typical dive bar in Chinatown. Dim lights with lantern decor hanging from the ceiling which gives it a vibe! No servers coming around so you'll have to grab your drinks at the bar. This time we came in on a Sunday night and to our surprise it was Karaoke night! KJ was Kisser and she's pretty cool! Got a hot toddy since the weather was a bit on the colder side that night and it was delicious with a splash of bourbon, star anise and a cinnamon stick! Very festive! read more

I'd love to support this bar but they allowed guests in with animals on a Saturday night with music blaring. The animals were clearly uncomfortable and anyone who is a pet owner knows how bad this is for animals. Stopped here with my brother-in-law last night before getting dinner at firstborn. The space is small and intimate with a nicely curated vibe. It was not busy at all for a Friday, but we were there only from 530-615. Nice selection of varied beers (from IPAs to Flemish Sours to Heavy Imperial Stouts) at a good price point. Also have a fine selection of hard liquor--our Michter's cocktails were reasonably priced--though it's tough to pass up on the interesting beer options. The female bartender was attentive without being pushy. She was also interesting and engaging which led to some nice conversation. If I still lived in downtown LA I would frequent this place often. Chinatown can be an overlooked neighborhood of the larger downtown area, and that's a shame when worthwhile watering holes like Melody Lounge exist there. read more

Rating =- Possibly but for the vibe and before the DJ comes on. The drinks are standard. The fortune cookie option seemed like it was going to be one of a few special drinks but it pulls from basic drink options. I think I pulled "Gin & Tonic". DJ Kisser is running a scam or she simply just don't know how to KJ. Waited patiently for 2 hours for our karaoke songs to come up and we were still 27th on the list unless we "tipped her" in her words. No wonder we can't see the queue. You can't see who she's bumping up ahead of you. We run karaoke ourselves and always make sure to give new singers at least one song relatively soon even when it's busy so that' they don't leave feeling like a waste of time to make the trip all the way there, buy drinks and not get one single song in. This is regarding a very bad drugging experience I had here with one other. Went here on 9/8 around 11pm. They had a couple people spinning and some others standing around the dj booth. The person in question was one of the guys spinning - shoulder length hair holding a tote bag with a hat and sunglasses on. While we were sitting next to the booth, he asked if our drinks were one of his which didn't make sense because 1. It's obviously not a beer because it's a cocktail glass and 2. he didn't even have a drink in his hand at any moment. Someone else started playing and he was dancing & hovering over our cups and pointed while asking if it was his beer. I'm thinking that's when he dropped something in the drink because that was the only moment someone was near enough to us other than when I got the drinks directly from the bartender. We only had a cocktail between us two and ended up leaving. Each of us can handle our drinks and always aware of our surroundings and we couldn't figure out why the single, measly cocktail got us feeling so weird and out of it within a matter of minutes. If the owner of this establishment could offer any info on the person playing music that night could help out, it would be appreciated and help this from occurring to someone else that might not know what's going on and stop them from getting taken advantage of. read more

This is a pretty cool bar located right in Chinatown. They have beautiful Chinese lanterns hanging on the ceiling. The table decor super cute and in theme with Chinese dynasty type furniture. I will say that this spot is really small and they literally had one bar tender for the entire night so he was definitely busy! Some of the cocktails had asian inspired drinks and used Asian spirits. I got the love letter and it was delicious. It's a bubbly strawberry and ginger mixed drink. It is super sweet and so good that I am definitely coming back. They had a DJ going on all night so it's pretty loud and you definitely can't hear any conversations going on lol read more
