Truly one of my favorite ice cream shops in the east bay. I love how unique their flavors are and their rotating menu. They offer standard ice cream, hot chocolate, as well as ice cream with flavored slush. The location is conveniently across a Trader Joe's as well.
Melt Me is hands down one of my favorite ice cream spots in Berkeley. What sets them apart is their incredibly unique Asian-inspired flavors like Ube Malted Crunch, Thai Tea, Miso Peanut Butter Brownie, Korean Corn Latte, Black Sesame Cookies n' Cream, and Mango Sticky Rice. Every time I visit, I'm torn between trying something new or ordering my favorites again. Each flavor is creative, distinct, and actually tastes like the ingredient it's inspired by. My favorite is the Blue Jasmine & Passion Fruit Swirl. The tea flavor is strong and fragrant, which I love. My favorite combos are Thai Tea + Ube Malted Crunch for a richer, creamier bite, or Blue Jasmine Passion Fruit Swirl + Mango Sticky Rice if you're in the mood for something fruitier and refreshing. Another bonus: sprinkles are free! My only complaint is that you're limited to just three samples. Then again, that's probably why I keep coming back to try all the flavors.
This little shop packs a variety of Asian-inspired ice cream flavors to blow your mind! The flavors they have are absolutely intriguing. I wish I could have tried them all. I ended up only getting the yuzu honey sorbet, but will definitely be coming back to try other flavors. The price is affordable and reasonable. They also have fruit freezes. There are a couple of chairs outside you can sit on to enjoy your treat. Parking is as expected around Berkeley - street parking.
Was in the area and had to try this ice cream place since I love Asian flavors and ice cream. The ice cream itself was pretty delicious, and you get to try 3 flavors per person. The texture of the ice cream was really good overall, but out of all the samples, my favorites were the Mango Sticky Rice and Yuzu Honey Sorbet which were both vegan flavors. Mango Sticky Rice: This combined coconut ice cream with mango sorbet. The coconut portion was super creamy, while the mango side had more of an icy sorbet texture, but together the combo worked really well. Yuzu Honey Sorbet: This one had more of a pure sorbet/icy texture and melted a little quickly, but it was super refreshing and light. I'd definitely come back to try more flavors or check out their rotating specials if I'm in the area again. Parking is just neighborhood street parking, but it was pretty easy to find. My daughter and I are a huge fan of Melt Me's unique and delicious flavors of ice cream! We are ice cream lovers and have tried everywhere from Jeni's, Salt & Straw, 21 Choices, but this is our favorite. My daughter goes to Melt Me monthly with friends to try the new flavors of the month. Thank you Nick and Nem for sharing your ice cream and story with us!
A small shop but packed full of flavor and service! Very deserving of the high ratings. There are so many interesting flavors and you can sample up to 3 - which I think is very reasonable. They will also add complimentary chocolate or rainbow sprinkles if you desire! I got to sample my three and picked the Hojicha Biscoff (strong Hojicha with bits of Biscoff) and Hong Kong Memories (HK style milk tea with Biscoff). Both so very good and the split single were generous servings that felt like two scoops. Will be back soon to try all the other flavors that look so interesting!!
Small spot. Line to wait. 3 samples only. So many to choose from- lots to wanna try, so you gotta be selective. I sampled the Dragonfruit lychee, the Yakult Grape Gummy and the Jasmine Passionfruit swirl. I ended up with the Korean Corn Latte and Yakult Grape Gummy. Alone, great! Together? Not so much. I wanted to feed both flavor profiles- fruity and creamy. The line isn't long and it gives you time to decide what you want. They have so many unique flavor combos, it was hard to choose! Cute spot!
Delicious! Every time I discover a new place, I always say to myself "why can't we have this in Davis?" Hubby and I shared the flight and got black sesame cookies 'n cream, ube malted crunch, hojicha biscoff, mango sticky rice. It was all so yummy. I also sampled yakult grape gummy sorbet, kaya pandan & butter crumble, blue jasmine & passion fruit swirl, Thai tea & brown sugar mochi, and miso peanut butter brownies. All the flavors are excellent and would definitely go back because they do a series of flavors for the month. The only slight drawback I'd give is I wish the flavors were slightly punchier. In other words, I want the flavors to hit me as soon as I take a bite... but that's just me. My favorite of the bunch is the mango sticky rice. It was definitely nostalgia for me and reminds me of eating mango ice cream as a kid. July 2026 series flavors are: Campfire s'more Dragon fruit lychee Kaya pandan & butter crumble Yakult grape gummy sorbet Check them out before the month ends! I stopped by this place on a whim after seeing their creative flavors on a sign board outside. They have super cool Asian inspired flavors like coffee and corn, Thai tea Boba, etc and I was super excited to try it. They do allow samples, which is really nice, but the smallest size is a single scoop and you can only get one flavor, so I tried the coffee corn. The flavor was good and I could definitely taste the coffee and the corn, but the texture of the ice cream was definitely not the best. It had a slightly sandy texture and you could tell there was a ton of air churned into it so you don't get a super smooth mouthfeel.
Support this small business! They offer unique flavors that are really good, with big portion sizes to help justify the price. Oreo malt was the best and I will go back just for that one. The shop is super small with a few chairs outside, and it's nice to walk down the sidewalk to Ohlone Park and eat as you go.
I LOVE this place!!! It's right next to Trader Joe's on MLK, and I cannot help but to stop and get a scoop every time I'm grocery shopping. They have set flavors (which are delicious), but I love trying their monthly specials! All their flavors are so creative and have an Asian twist to them. They always hit the spot, no matter what you're craving. The owners are so sweet too! I have such a good time every time I go. It's definitely my to-go ice cream spot in Berkeley!
Saw these cute hot chocolates all over tiktok and I had to try them!!! Parking is a bit difficult; we parked about a block or so away. When we got to the creamery, there was already a crowd of people waiting outside; some enjoying their hot chocolates and ice cream, and some waiting in line to order. Expect a 30min wait for hot chocolates, due to high demand! The store is also very tiny. Limited seating inside and outside. I grabbed a Hojicha Biscoff cone while we waited for our hot chocolates. They have such unique ice cream flavors and a majority are Asian inspired, like mango sticky rice and Strawberry Matcha. The Hojicha Biscoff tasted very "toasty" and not too sweet! The hot chocolates were yummy and I love the taste of the toasted marshmallow rim and whipped cream topping!!! Their other hot chocolate flavors, matcha white chocolate and Hojicha white chocolate, also sounded really good! Sadly, they were all sold out that day. Friendly staff; please be patient and kind, as they are getting a lot of attention thru tiktok and wait times are longer than usual. Will def come back to try their other ice flavors!
What a wonderful creamy experience! I love the inspiration it takes to start up a creamery with Asian, tropical flavors and do some unique stuff, like offer fruit freezes. The quality of the cream is high, and the only thing you might concern yourself with is the paucity of flavor options. However, that's what makes it better! Admit it, Baskin can't do all 31 flavors equal justice. Lastly, go check out the hot chocolate available until the end of the month. That s'more is actually s'good. Flight of 4 scoops $10
Incredible! A small business ice cream shop opened by a husband and wife. We got the flight that has around 4 flavors in kids scoop for I think about $8 something which was perfect it share for 2 people. We got the dalgona coffee, ube malted, mango sticky rice, jasmine passion fruit. They were all amazing. I did wish the dalgona coffee had more of the brown sugar pieces and the malts in the ube were smaller and more spread apart so each bite can taste the malt. First time visiting this ice cream shop in Berkeley. We stopped by for the hot chocolate, which had about a 30-45 minute wait. While waiting outside, we decided to grab an ice cream cone since the space inside is very small and most of the seating is outdoors. Overall, it's a nice little business with good service in my opinion. read more
I ACTUALLY screamed for ice cream when I saw this cute new place finally opened and did a (legal) U-turn to check it out. It had been 2 days since they opened around 9pm so they were just closing up, but the staff was so nice and wrapped my order as the last one of the night. They have samples, flights, and split scoops so you can try their wide variety of Asian-inspired flavors. It's a smaller store front, but the inside has plenty of pink and a welcoming feel to it. Some flavors rotate monthly and keep things interesting (the cheddar cheese walnut pralines is not as weird as it sounds). Sprinkles are free! Came here a little while ago because I heard about their hot chocolate! I also was craving a sweat treat after some dim sum lol. To start off, the workers are really sweet and patient. There's a variety of different flavors to try - I've tried their ube before and it was sooo delicious, definitely hit my sweet craving. It's a small shop, so it may look a little crowded & busy with a couple customers, but the line moves fairly fast! Now onto their hot chocolate... I know this item is seasonal but I really hope they keep it year round. When I tell you I slurped it all up, I mean I SLURPED AND DESTROYED IT (even finishing my friends because she couldn't finish hers lol). Most UNIQUE ice cream in the East Bay!!! This place is so fire. I got the Honey Lavender and the Blue Jasmine and Passion Fruit Swirl as a split single scoop. The Honey Lavender was amazing -- floral, sweet, strong. Classic flavor pairing. The Jasmine and Passion Fruit Swirl was phenomenal -- the perfect floral tea base from the jasmine butterfly pea, with a refreshing pop of fruity brightness piercing through from the passion fruit. I absolutely looooove a good floral-fruity moment! My sister got a split single of one of the flavors of the month, the Korean Coffee Corn Latte, and the other flavor was the Matcha Strawberry from their regular rotation of flavors. An aside -- Matcha Strawberry was smooth, rich, and not at all gritty. Even Matcha Cafe Maiko, sometimes their matcha can be gritty, and Maruwu Seicha too -- but this place was very good. Apparently, the kind of matcha they use is from Mizuba Matcha Tea Co. -- I'll have to check them out later! The Korean Coffee Corn Latte -- very coffee, very corn -- both strong and present flavors. One, I love that they offer a split single scoop in general. Two, all of their curated starting flavors are so unique and wonderfully picked. I can confidently say I've never seen SO many distinct and palatable flavors before in one ice cream shop -- although it may be a lot for people who prefer simpler, less complicated flavors (not I!). The quality of their ice cream -- I sampled half of them -- were all really, really good. So creamy, very consistent in quality, strong flavors. I'm not having to fight to taste and figure out what flavor I'm eating. This place is newly established in Berkeley, not a chain. The pink decorations in and outside the storefront are really cute. Their cups are cute too -- pink cow-print to match. Their menu layout is clear and appealing. Everything looks crisp, bright, and eye-catching. Also, service is excellent. I tried so many samples, and the employee helping us (one of the store's cofounders!) was very kind and patient, not pushy. The place is still pretty low-key -- they just opened a week ago, so I'm excited to see it gain more attention and flourish, hopefully becoming a mainstay in the Berkeley food scene. Best. Ice cream. In Berkeley. Full stop. I'm talking about the creamiest, dreamiest ice cream. The kind that disappears after a few minutes and makes you wanting more. When you walk in, it's a feast for the eyes. Every flavor has a distinct & colorful look and makes you curious to try them. So far I've had: * cheddar and candied walnuts -- the hint of cheddar is perfectly balanced with the crunch of candied walnuts * jasmine and passion fruit -- floral with a hint of tartness * ube malt crunch -- a classic flavor that never disappoints * Korean corn latte -- love the sweet corn puree in every bite My favorite flavors so far are the savory & sweet combos because they're the perfect balance of both. Great selection of flavors, not a huge overwhelming menu but also definitely something for everyone! The texture was phenomenal, it was very smooth, slightly rich, and also had a less dense texture. Not overly gummy like some ice cream places! I love that the flavors highlight the actual flavors and not just sweetness. The Thai tea was very tea flavored and just enough sweetness. Lately I've been craving all things Pandan. So I searched for Pandan ice cream and found that this ice cream shop has it, but only available this month (April flavor). So, I took the bus from south Berkeley to try their pandan ice cream and I have to regretfully report that it's disappointing. I couldn't taste the pandan. Luckily I also ordered cereal milk, which was creamy and delicious. I may come back to try other flavors. read more

Melt Me is one of our favorite ice cream spots . It's a small shop so there is no space to eat inside . We like to buy pints to go and eat at home so it's not a problem. They have unique flavors that we can't find anywhere else . The line can be long on warm days but the service is friendly and quick. read more
Such a good experience at Melt Me! The line out the door immediately drew me in, and it's safe to say, it did not disappoint. Their ube crunch ice cream was the perfect ending to my night, with its creamy texture and exuberant flavor. I've lost count of how many friends, family & coworkers I've brought here just in the past 2 months [and considering I'm 1) not a 'sweets' person and 2) the past two months were cold November and December, that's saying a lot]! I love how many of the flavors are "not too sweet" and also offer tasty non-dairy / non-nut milk based options. I plan to go at least once a month to see their monthly rotating flavors. The owners are super friendly and take their time giving samples and recommendations. Even if there's a line out the door, it's quick and there's small stools inside and outside of the store. With the addition of the marshmallow rim hot chocolate, this place will definitely get more and more busy, but I'm glad they're getting the attention they deserve! read more
This is a very cute shop! It's on MLK way and the inside is quite small. I would say possibly 5 people comfortably to order inside at a time. They had really good flavors, such as their Thai tea , Honey Lavender and their s'mores. Surprisingly they were able to make the s'mores flavor taste have a slight smoky taste as if you roasted a marshmallow! The staff is very kind and helpful! Very unique flavors. I'd say they're a fusion/blend between Asian teas & fruits. Super nice people and good service as well. They're also very open to feedback, which I appreciate. You can tell there's true passion in the flavor profiles that they try to produce. The flavors we tried were: - Thai Tea w/ brown sugar mochi: Probably the best Thai tea ice cream I've had. The brown sugar mochi mimicks boba so it's a nice addition - Matcha strawberry: Very good. The strawberry is very subtle so you taste 90-95% matcha. - Hong Kong: My first time having Hong Kong ice cream. I usually only have it as a drink. This ice cream version is good. If you've never had HK flavored things before, be prepared for a strong tea flavor - Ube: Very solid - Bloodberry: If you like raspberry, this is a very strong raspberry sorbet in a good way. I enjoyed the very fruity flavor - Honey Lavender: Very solid. Sometimes lavender is overpowering, but this place balances it very well. If you ever had it at Salt&Straw, I think this place does it a bit better IMO. read more

2 of us (+ dog--just a nibble) shared the "Flight" size, which is 4 mini scoops. It was $8.25 (a great deal when you're sharing and indecisive). Sprinkles were free! We tried Blue Jasmine & Passion Fruit Swirl, Classic Vanilla, Matcha Strawberry, and Ovaltine Flocos Crocantes. All the flavors were fantastic and we loved the blue jasmine the most! The vanilla together with the jasmine or matcha made it taste like a latte. The strawberry in the matcha is a little faint unless you stir it. Stools are available outside for seating and there's a couple standing tables inside (small space). Staff were so friendly, letting us try flavors and checking for allergies. I appreciate that all the flavors are labeled if it is vegan, gluten free, has eggs, or has nuts. Love the diversity of fun flavors and will definitely be back to try more! read more

This place is so good! I was so excited to see a new place that had some unique flavors of ice cream as well as fruit freeze. We tried a few flavors of ice cream, and they were spot on! I definitely recommend trying a few to get what you truly want. I had the strawberry matcha and it was very good. The fruit freeze is so similar to Gunther's from Sac. So refreshing and delicious ! The owner was so friendly and encouraged us to try flavors in their cute little shop. Definitely will be back. read more

So I went at 3:00 pm, opening time on a Saturday and there was a line down the block. The line was for people getting the special hot chocolate and also ice cream. If you're just getting a scoop of ice cream, you can just go inside. Don't wait in that line. The ice cream is delicious. Creative flavors. They let you taste up to 3 flavors. My favorite was peanut butter brownie. I waited almost 2 hours for the hot chocolate. That included the wait time to order it. But by the time I got mine around 5:00 pm, there was no line and people just getting there probably waited about 20 minutes or less. There were only 2 people working that day. I don't know if that's normal, but on busy weekends they should have an extra person making the hot chocolate. I enjoyed the hot chocolate but the wait time made it less exciting and not as worth it. So I recommend going but if you see a line, maybe go another time. read more

Drove pass and notice the cute decor outside. Had to check it out. I'm so glad we did! Grand opening this past Friday. Cute clean interior Friendly staff Creative and Unique flavors My partner and I sampled a few flavors and it was so difficult to decide which ones to get, they were all so good. I had the split single scoop with Ube and Orange mochi. He had the Korean coffee corn and mango sticky rice. We enjoyed it so much. We will definitely come back and try other flavors! read more
