One of our favorite breweries we have ever been to! The beer is delicious-we tried a few different styles, but just as enjoyable, if not more so, the salt of the earth awesome people that own and run this place! We were at another location in Alpine when we realized that the IPA we were drinking and thoroughly enjoying was brewed right down the street-we must go straight to the source after such an enjoyable libation. We ended up at a large warehouse near the reservoir where we were very impressed with their production capabilities. Hope was our bartender and she was beyond helpful in our beer selection and just an all around great person. We ordered a burger and egg rolls-both were delicious comfort food after a long day. The most wonderful surprise was when it was time to pay the owner unbeknownst to us had taken care of our tab! He must have overheard our praise and happiness in finding such a fantastic hidden gem, in a tiny town that we already love, we now want to live here forever! But alas, we will take the delicious beers with us on our extended road trip and keep spreading the joy. read more

We were advised ahead of time that the food could take a while to come out so we ordered soon after we placed our drink orders. I went there twice in 2 days and the service was terrible. The first time we had to go inside, twice, after 15 minutes because a server still hadn't been by. The drinks took forever, my friends salad had a hair in it. We tried a second time because I've been there in the past and it was good, so I thought the bad experience was a fluke. Nope. Drove over while we were staying in Jackson, WY. Definitely worth the drive...LOVE this brewery!! Had two flights and the IPA beers were excellent. We also shared the huge pretzel and buffalo chicken wings, both were yummy! Service was very good, our server was attentive and friendly. Giving Melvin brewing a 1 star due to horrible service, and lack of variety on their menu, not to mention an intention change is service because we had children with us. The waitress handed out menus then said "due to a staffing shortage, the kitchen is on a limited menu, and that just happened". They screwed up literally every aspect of our food order and charged us to correct it. Our waitress didn't show us our itemized receipt until after she ran our card so we didn't notice she double charged us to correct what we literally ordered in the first place. We used to be big Melvin fans but this ruined it. Also super slow service and it wasn't even that busy. Terrible service. Disappointed. Will not return. read more

Summer S**t Show.... It's the only way to describe my last two visits to Melvin's Taproom. In winter we love this place and drive all the way from Jackson to visit. In summer they are just an extension of the crazy Jackson Crowds, with large groups of large tourist, screaming kids, and grey haired bikers. There is nothing wrong with these people as individuals but taken together it brings a 5 star establishment down to 1 star. It seems like the crowds are just there for the view and the food, most of the tables were drinking water or soda. First time I tried to eat there this summer we had to wait for a table standing around with others vying for a seat. The tables were filled with the crowd I describe. There were almost no locals and most people were drinking water and sodas. It seems like the tourist crow just come for the food and view. The server, who was new let us order beer and gave us menus without telling the kitchen was backed up over an hour, It was a long term employee that let us know the kitchen was overwhelmed and would be at least an hour and a half to get us food. Because we had a hungry teen ager with us we had to down our beers and go elsewhere. On Sunday a week later we tried to give this place another chance. We called ahead but the phone was never answered. We drove there anyways. The parking lot was packed but when I went inside they said there was a mass exodus as the kitchen had just ran out of propane. Foiled once again. This place is a victim of it's own success. Until they catch up with their growth spurt, I suggest nobody should go there. Please nobody go there, so I can enjoy it again. read more

Only giving this 2 stars because the beer is great. The service was honestly some of the worst I've ever had in my life. I never write bad reviews but it was honestly that bad. I know it's COVID and everyone is struggling but they weren't busy and the two girls were so rude. She first of all dropped off our checks and said hope you use Venmo, we asked to simply split it for us and then she angrily came with more checks where she added on things we didn't have and over charged us. When I came in to work it out thinking it was a mistake the other girl asked me haven't you guys heard of this thing called Venmo? Their location at Thai me up is awesome and the staff is really cool. I would completely recommend going there over this location. read more

Literally worst service of life! Their beer is good but everything else literally makes this establishment a place I will never go to again. The service is AWFUL! They no joke had 14 people working at 3PM and we didn't get our food for 1.5 hours and every server that came up had a terrible attitude. Meanwhile, the joke of a "boss" Shannon and the other 10+ employees were just drinking beer and a bottle of Jim Beam while eating while we waited without being told it would be a long wait or even a refill on our waters. Great brewery with beer that is being shipped all over the country. They were lured here from Jackson Hole by land and a big building. Their beer is crisp and fresh with a nice variety but strong on award winning IPAs. They have food too, which is very good but slow due to being made in a small attached trailer. There are plans to add a kitchen. Go early as the crowd does get ahead of the kitchen for now. Wait staff were great and very knowledgeable. read more

Poor Melvins could be a lot better but they don't seem to have a good system down yet? we got there 15m after opened, with only 2 other tables and waited 90 mins. for semi good food. Pork wrap was good but dry along with the burger, potstickers were not bad even though we were charged for $2 more spring rolls that they were out of. Few mins before getting our food they asked us if we wanted peanuts, then after food told us they'll be back with ketchup and napkins but we never saw them again. We visited the brewery yesterday on our way back home from camping and we loved it! Their beer is very tasty, I personally like Hey Zeus and Hubert. Hubs really enjoyed 2x4, but really they were all great. We weren't super hungry so we ordered just small bites, spring rolls and pot stickers, which were also awesome. Also, the staff was super friendly and welcoming. I can't remember the lady who mainly took care of us, but I just loved her. She was so nice to both of us and helped us pick out lots of beer to take home with us. Will visit again! read more

What a great atmosphere and great beer, ruined by poor service. Went to Melvin today, ordered 2 flights and a pretzel. The service was slow to start but we didn't mind waiting because of atmosphere. After we put in our order we got our beer fairly promptly, then our waitress disappeared. An hour later we still didn't have our pretzel and saw our waitress maybe 1x. The waitress tried to blame the kitchen but people who ordered after us were getting full meals. We learned later that she neglected to put our order in for over a half hour into our stay. The manager we talked to when we were trying to leave told us she only put our order in 25' prior (we had ordered over an hour prior) and then he didn't say anything. Such a cool place that I probably won't go back to, recommend or buy products from due to poor customer service. read more

You can buy everything they have to offer at the grocery store so don't bother coming to brewery where the wait for a hamburger is 2 hours and after that the staff informs you "I told you this was going to be 2 hours"... meanwhile you ordered your meal 2.5 hours previously... the staff is rude the wait is long and these people need to figure it out. This was my third trip to Melvin Brewery. It will be my last. My friend and I planned to enjoy some drinks and dinner and use a $50.00 Groupon. Apparently, the bartender, ( we sat at the bar) was stressed or having a bad night or.....but after receiving our food, ( cheeseburger/fries) with no condiments, I had to walk to the other side of the restaurant and ask a waitress for ketchup and mustard. Back at the bar, our waitress, ignored us. I mean, how can you serve hot french fries without ketchup. After a few minutes, she was washing glasses near us and I commented to my friend it was her fault. She overheard my comment and then became confrontational, never apologized, said "I'm only one person here"and then " cut us off" without even telling us. After several minutes, I received Ketchup and mustard from the other waitress. My friend never received his chicken wings. ( The bartender had canceled his order because 10 minutes went by and he never received them.) We were stunned. We then spoke with the manager who apologized and comped the few drinks and the mostly uneaten cold burger and fries. We then left hungry and completely dissatisfied. read more
