I had a very disappointing experience with Memorial Eye Center - Missouri City. I scheduled an appointment for my son on 05/26/2026 using the scheduling system directly on Memorial Eye Center's website. Unfortunately, after arriving about 10 minutes late, the staff spent another 15 minutes trying to locate the appointment because it had apparently been entered under my name instead of my son's. Regardless, the appointment was still made through their own system. After finally finding it, I was told they were "fully booked" and could not see my son. I specifically took my son out of school for this appointment, and the situation could have been handled much more professionally and respectfully. Instead, the staff came across as rude, dismissive, and inconsiderate of our time and effort. Customer service seems to be lacking more and more these days. Mistakes happen, but how staff treat people matters. A little understanding, communication, and willingness to help would have gone a long way. Very frustrating experience overall. read more

I visited Memorial Eye Center on Monday 10/7/2024 for a contact Lens exam, I waited for nearly 2 hours to be seen by Dr Simon Yeung, after all the waiting, I was told that they could not perform an eye exam, because I had several health issues, I was referred to see a eye specialist, it took 2 hours to tell me that they could not do an eye exam on me, I am totally dissatisfied with the service I received at this location, I was also advised to consult a specialist and then return to this location, !!! If I need to see an eye specialist then why would I want to return to this place, ??? It just doesn't make sense what the Dr @ this Memorial Eye Center did, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone,in need of eye care, stay away and avoid the frustration that I experienced, !!!!! read more

Dr. Doan as the eye doctor, great skill and great experience, probably one of the best experience in very long time dealing with eye doctors. Dr. Doan as the manager / owner plus the office team an absolute horrible experience and I hope they can take this feedback in a more positive and humble way. At the end of the day we're the customers and the reason your business exists is because we decide to give you the business. When the experience is bad then we take our business somewhere else which I will. Rather than getting into details here is my feedback to you Dr Doan and your staff: - Educate your customers before they make a purchase so there are no surprises. Let them know exactly what they're getting and confirm it with them. - And when I say educate, it means $$$ as well. We all know the whole prescription glasses business is a major scam, but at least threat us with some dignity. Doesn't mean if the insurance pay for it I don't have the right to know what I am getting and what my options are. - Don't patronize your customers, some of are as smart or even smarter than you and your staff. - Admit you faults, apologize, learn and move on. - Don't put it back on customers as is their fault. Take ownership, be humble and say sorry. - What is worse this happened twice and for some reason I come back and give you a second chance with my kids glasses. Should've known better and trust my instinct to go somewhere else - Lastly dial back the cocky attitude, doesn't work well in business. Use that energy and shape up your office staff which I believe is part of the problem. - Remember, customers puts food on your table, basic business stuff. read more

I purchased glasses from here, after wearing for less than 24 hours I went beck because they were too loose and kept sliding off. I went back and the person that helped me bent the ends of my ear piece almost halfway in. It was done so bad I had a headache every time I wore them. I was not happy with my service so I went to a new eye doctor recently. I asked them to size the glasses from Vision Source and it turns out Vision Source ordered the wrong size frames for my face. I always wear contacts and literally had no idea they could mess that up! I wasted over $200 for the wrong sized frames and I no longer have insurance coverage to buy new ones . Very courteous staff, Dr Doan is very skilled and knowledgeable. I had a problem with right eye. She carefully took the time to examine it and prescribe the right medication for my eye.. It was full healed in less than a week. All I can say is thank you very much!!!!! read more

Visited the place for the first time with my son in December 2017. The optometrist could be a little less sarcastic, less arrogant and less dismissive of my concerns as a parent, however they may seem trivial or unimportant to her. She talked and acted like only her opinion mattered. She tried to smile a lot while talking but her words have a bite to them. My impression was that she was haughty and critical and used to talking down to people, which i noticed also when she talked to one of the office girls. I left her office really feeling down. And no I wouldn't go back to her knowing there are plenty of other optometrists in the area who would treat other people a little more politely. read more

I was greeted by everyone when I walked in. The doctor's assistant knew who I was. Everyone knows their role and they are very friendly. Dr. Doan explains every step during her exam and does a thorough job. It was easy to make an appointment and I got in and out in a reasonable amount of time. I was very disappointed with my visit to Vision Source today. After reading all of the glowing reviews I guess I was expecting too much. Being a new patient I would assume that the doctor would introduce herself to me. She didn't greet me nor introduce herself to me. She just started asking questions. Without saying anything to me, she was about to dilate my eyes. When I attempted to explain to her why I couldn't have my eyes dilated, she told me to let her do her job. I was treated like a mannequin. I was so disappointed! I wanted contact lens and glasses however, I was so disgusted that I got my eyeglass prescription and left. I gave 2 stars because the staff was friendly and courteous. read more

Worst experience ever. My son wanted to get contacts and/or new glasses. I scheduled him to get his eye test done to make sure nothing had changed with his prescription. All went well. As he sat down to try contacts, he was told he had 20 minutes or would have to come back another day. He attempted but couldn't seem to get it. After only 5-10 minutes he decided on a new pair of glasses. However, they wanted $45 for attempting to put in the contact. That was never mentioned. In addition, the lenses were $229 while the frames were $175.. Simply a ripoff!!! Lastly, they wouldn't replace his older lenses even though they promote a scratch free lens. Totally pissed off by now....Paid the $97 for the Exam, will not go back nor refer this place. Dr. Doan should be embarrassed... Customer no more read more

We relocated out of state after our first visit in 1999. When we returned in 2004, Dr. Doan and the staff remembered us and treated us like family. I appreciate the prompt service and friendliness of Dr. Doan and the staff. She always has time to address my questions and concerns whether in person or on the phone. I was so pleased after years of disappointment to find an eye doctor as caring, smart and so pleasant and is sure that she has an efficient and friendly staff working for her (however I sense it more of a working together atmosphere). I feel like I hit the lottery when it comes to Dr Doan the last 10+ years. When my daughter was alive and had multiple disabilities, Dr Doan was absolutely awesome with her. What finally knocked it out of the park for me was when my daughter had passed away and I had an appointment that I remembered on the way to the memorial service, I called to obviously cancel. I could not believe my eyes when Dr Doan and her sister appeared at the memorial service which was in Spring Branch. My daughter did have that affect on people and I think Dr Doan realized what a special young lady she was. I just recently went thru cataract surgery on both eyes and my advice is just go with it...she will refer you to an awesome ophthalmologist. read more

If you are considering coming here due to all of the positive reviews, choose a different place. I took my 15-year-old brother who has always struggled with his weight to his appointment. Immediately after sitting down, Dr. Doan asked him what he thought she was going to suggest to him, which ended up being that he needed to lose weight. Several additional times she commented on how overweight he was, never stating its relevance to his eyesight or even giving a reason for commenting. She bullied him about it repeatedly throughout his appointment thoroughly embarrassing him in front of everyone who heard. She may have plenty of medals for marathons, but she is not being paid to tell an already insecure 15-year-old boy that he needs to run every day and go on a diet. She will NEVER have my business or that of my family's ever again. To be clear, that is 7 people, all of which have eye prescriptions, that will never give Dr. Doan a dime. She should be ashamed of herself and body shaming a kid should be enough to discourage anyone from taking their own children or themselves to her. Absolutely inexcusable, inappropriate, and plainly HORRIBLE. I created a Yelp account specifically to warn everyone about her.
