Markarian charges for the consultation, claims he can save the tooth with a root canal despite the cracks. Not knowing any better we agree to go forward which was another $1,070. The root canal lasted about a week, gets infected because of the cracks and so an oral surgeon had to pull the tooth anyway. Markarian claims he tried to persuade her not to get root canal which is bull. We have no experience in this. He graciously gives $250 back for $1,000 root canal that lasted a week. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

I drove from Festus MO to Shiloh IL and couldn't be happier that I did. First - they're initial consult fee is less than anywhere in Festus. Second - Dr. Diliberto successfully completed the root canal. No longer any pain, didn't crack my original crown, and the doctor and the staff are all fantastic! My understanding is that root canals are typically necessary when a tooth is significantly compromised. At my most recent visit, a molar cracked, and I immediately had that sinking feeling: "root canal." I was right. She's warm and friendly. This is especially nice if you are nervous about seeing a dentist. My hygienist is Denise. Again she greets you like you have been friends forever. The x/ray process is easy and with the big screens in the room you are in the know of everything that is happening in your mouth. Finally you get to see Dr. Mark he's young and makes you feel like he's know you for years. His manner puts you at ease. My 5 year old not so much, but now she's asking when she's getting her teeth cleaned again. She likes looking at all the old dental tools and the staff is very nice to her. My husband and I both also enjoy our visits. First, she said I had not provided my insurance information. Then she said I had provided the wrong information. I had already provided all of the necessary insurance information, including a copy of the front and back of my medical insurance card. The confusion appeared to be that my medical and dental coverage are administered by different insurance companies, even though they use the same Member ID and Group Number. Once Ashley allowed me to explain the situation, I clarified that the insurance company had already confirmed their protocol: the provider's office simply needs to call the provider services 1-800 number to verify coverage and obtain any needed information. Despite this, Ashley repeatedly refused to make the call and instead told me, "You do it," more than once. Throughout the interaction, Ashley raised her voice, accused me of interrupting her, and shifted blame rather than trying to resolve the issue. She also refused to provide her last name when I requested it. Ashley initially told me the manager was present while we were speaking. However, when I asked to speak with the manager, she then said the manager was in a meeting. These inconsistent statements caused me to question the accuracy of the information I was being given. Ashley also stated that Alex the manager approved of how she handled the situation. Throughout the interaction, I perceived multiple microaggressions and felt I was not treated with professionalism or respect. Patients should not have to argue with staff to have standard insurance verification procedures followed. I hope management reviews this interaction, provides additional customer service training, and ensures staff follow established insurance verification protocols instead of placing the burden on patients when the insurer has instructed the provider's office to make the verification call.
