We planned on getting there an hour before our massage to enjoy the hot tub (they requested that we call ahead to let them know and get the heat going). Our massage started promptly on time, and we both opted for deep tissue. I had Deanne, who specializes in Swedish and deep tissue massage (according to her bio on the website)... and let me say she has some STRONG hands. She found all my tension and pain-points and loosened me up. I was honestly a bit sore for days, but in a good way. A great reminder I need to take care of my body post workouts and after long days at the desk... My biggest feedback for them would be to have more info on their website about the pool access and what's offered (towels, robes) and how long we have pool access (it's all day, btw). Before booking, I had to call to get that info; it's be more convenient to add all of that info to their FAQ page. They also allow you to bring snackies, so I brought a fruit, cheese, and tinned fish spread. Also, wondering if they had hot tea service. That's always a nice touch post-massage. I opted for the 90-minute deep tissue massage as I had been working out like crazy and needed some muscle relief. This was one of the best things I could do for myself, it felt like the massages I got when traveling to Vietnam- no fluff just straight to the root cause of the muscle pain. This isn't the type of place you go for a spa-like, relaxing atmosphere like Post Oak or Milk + Honey. Instead, it's where you go for a truly effective deep-pressure massage. The facility was clean, and my masseuse, Jessica, was fantastic. She took the time to ask about the areas I wanted to focus on and applied just the right amount of pressure in those areas. I was amazed at how much pressure she could apply despite her small stature. She also reassured me to not hesitate to let her know if something was uncomfortable which I appreciated. One aspect I particularly appreciated was that the massage included stretches, which contributed to significant relief. It wasn't necessarily a relaxing experience, but it was incredibly therapeutic. Also if you do not like feet or are shy this may not be the place for you. When we first entered, they had us fill out some forms, which asked us about things like injuries, pregnancy, where we wanted focused areas. I don't believe my masseuse read the form because she asked me before my massage started where I wanted focused areas, but this wasn't a huge issue for me. I was just curious what was the point of asking it on the form if they didn't look at it; maybe they did & she just wanted to confirm, I'm not sure. At the beginning of my massage, she asked me if stretching was OK, what I wanted focused on, and confirmed I didn't want her to step on my back, which I appreciated all of these being asked. She did stretch me with my permission, which was amazing & exactly what I needed. She made sure to also confirm the pressure of her massages were okay with me as well a couple of times during the massage. Some of my friends got warm beds. Unfortunately, mine wasn't and my room was pretty cold. When the blanket was moved from my body, I was pretty cold. This is probably my only complaint about the entire experience. This place is one of those which take membership for monthly service in order to save money.. but they run more expensive than the last place I went, especially when everything is an add-on cost. I hate that they nickel and dime everything and there's only 50/80 min options.
