Since then, the care has become less personalized and more generic. My new complaint is the new service charge of 2.5% when using a credit card. Supposedly it does not exceed their CC charge and does not apply to debit cards (which I used) but a CC charge is a cost of doing business for the convenience of your patients. This seems like a way to boost revenue and had me grumbling the whole time there. They also stopped taking AMEX which was another kicker. If it wasn't for Dr. Jhaveer and Debbie, I would be looking for another eye doctor.

I called Diagnostic Eye Center Wednesday morning and asked for an appointment on Thursday or Friday. Within a short time they told me to come in that afternoon. They took varied tests and pictures of my eyes and I was advised to see my primary care doctor or my cardiologist as soon as I could. The doctor sent a message to both about my condition and told me to call to set up an appointment with either. The doctor made a follow-up call the next morning to see if I'd had any luck (which I hadn't) and called me again later that day. That's quality care!

The optometrist was great; I enjoyed chatting with her, and she seemed thorough in the exam. A week after receiving my glasses, I started experiencing neck pain. I noticed I was forcing my neck in awkward and painful positions to see out of my new glasses, mostly during driving and watching tv. But then something else happened. I noticed one of the lenses was loose so I got out my old glasses to inspect (I can't see small screws without glasses). The screw was loose so I tightened it. Then a few days later, the screw was loose again. And then the next week, and so forth. So now i'm stuck with a pair of glasses that require weekly screw tightening. i'm pretty sure they gave me the glasses from the display case as I see no other reason that a brand new pair of glasses would already require weekly screw tightening. I will not return to Today's Vision. I should have stuck to my OG eye doctor, but Today's Vision is convenient to my home. I was originally referred here for LASIK several years ago. Everything went well, and they even got me signed up to participate in a contrast sensitivity study to help offset some of the cost of the surgery. I currently go there still for regular check ups with my optometrist. She's stellar and does a great job of keeping up with clients even though she only sees them once every 6 or 12 months. The front desk staff are pretty good but can be frustrating at times. I frequently get appointments that get canceled and rescheduled after they were booked, or they'll occasionally reassign you to a different doctor rather than your regular one without even telling you.
