Started the New Year with an eye exam with Dr Dana Howard (after some frustration with my prior provider)...her first appointment on the first Monday of 2015. Dana was a referral from a friend. Wow, what a great experience...the office is clean, the staff is friendly and Ms Howard is extremely caring and attentive. Picked up my new distance glasses today from there and it was fun driving home and being able to read signs in the distance...plus the frames are RayBan Wayfarers...always my favs. I've already referred some friends and co-workers to Memorial Park Vision. Went to Dr. Howard for all five years we lived here. Sorry to go--will definitely make the effort to schedule appointments when we are visiting friends. The office is great, everyone is super friendly and their hours make scheduling feasible no matter your what your calendar looks like. Also like their extensive frame selection--it's massive. And I have to mention their service level for medical problems--last year, I caught some virus that made my contacts difficult to wear. Was scheduled in the day I called, treated and given a new contact type, then seen again in a week--problem solved and they handled the shift from vision to medical insurance seamlessly. read more

I can't say enough good things about this practice. I've been a patient for over 4 years and have had good experiences with both doctors. For the first few years' worth of checkups, my eyes were 20/20. However last year, the doctor advised me that I could use a little correction for computer use. Someone helped me pick out frames and my cute Tory Burch glasses arrived less than 2 weeks later. Additionally, a few months ago a weird bright red spot appeared in the white of my eye. I was concerned and called over. They were able to get me in for an emergency visit an hour later and resolved my concerns. I have insurance through my employer, so my out of pocket expenses have always been very reasonable. I did have my uninsured husband come in for a checkup though, and the fees were very reasonable. They have flexible hours, friendly staff, and a very clean office. Highly recommend. read more

I had a horrible eye doctor before coming to Memorial Park Vision. I would always hate going to the eye doctor. At memorial park vision i always feel welcomed, the people here know exactly what they are doing and always try to keep you informed. I have been coming here since 2013 and it is the best place ever. I came to Memorial Park Vision (MPV) because of Roni who used to be my frame stylist/Optician at my previous Opthalmologist office. I don't like to change doctors, but gave it a try bc I have always been please with Roni. I am very happy with my experience at MPV. The staff is very welcoming, and Dr. Howard was very pleasant, helpful, and attentive. She took the time to listen to my concerns and answered all my questions. Although the office is farther than my previous doctor, I will gladly take the drive to MPV...my new Eye Doctor. Dr. Howard is an excelled optometrist! Her and her staff are all very helpful and very nice. I've been to some dr's offices where they put the minimal amount of money into their practice to keep patients. You can tell they're just in it for the money. On the other side of the spectrum there's Dr. Howard's office. It feels brand new every time I walk in, she's got new equipment, it's spotless, and she's got a trendy glasses section. I haven't seen an eye doctor for a very long time, and was a bit hesitant in going. Memorial Park Vision made me feel at home, and gave me a very thorough exam. They work very efficiently, and I didn't even have to fill out any paperwork. I went on line and filled out my information so they pretty much knew my concerns ahead of time. I highly recommend Dr. Howard for anyone needing an eye exam in the Houston area. I just moved here from out-of-state and was nervous about finding a new optometrist, but after reading the other reviews on here, I decided to give this place a try. They were able to squeeze me in the same day I called, and despite having a very late appointment, Dr. Howard was very courteous and professional. I felt she was genuinely concerned about my needs, and not once did I feel rushed. Also, Roni was absolutely wonderful in spotting my insurance and helping my choose frames. It was a pressure-free environment and I felt absolutely comfortable the whole time I was there. Couldn't ask for more from a place! My 14 yo had an appt on Monday of Harvey so we had to re-schedule. They were very helpful to find us a new appt and got us in soon. Everyone was very helpful and were great communicators which is very important to me. They showed a variety of options and carry a lower cost line of frames that was great. The best part of our experience was how hard they worked to work with our insurance company. After initially being given incorrect info, they were persistent and finally got the insurance co to offer the benefit that we have in our policy. Can't say enough good things about MPV! read more

Recently made a visit to have an eye infection checked out. I scheduled my appointment online (via ZocDoc) which was very easy. Showed up as a new patient and everything went very smoothly. I only waited a few minutes until I was taken back for my appointment with Dr. Gorman. She was very helpful and friendly. I came back a week later for a check up, the friendly staff recognized me and took care of me right away. I'll will definitely be back in the future. read more

Dr. Howard was one of the best eye doctors that I have seen. She spent time with me to get my prescription just right. It seems my prescription does not follow normal rules. Most doctors in the past have gotten me to "just good enough". Not Dr. Howard. She got me all the way there and spent alot of time in order to get my prescription just right. I have sent my husband and my two grown daughters there also. I even had my 11 and 12 year old go there for their yearly exam. read more

Dr. Dana Howard is awesome. However, the office staff is not. Last year they tried to charge me for my contact lense exam, even though I have comprehensive eye insurance. It includes 100% insurance coverage with $0 deductible for a contact lense/fitting exam. I pay extra for this. They corrected the error last year. Again, this year the same office staff charged me $60 for an eye exam even though my insurance had not changed. They also stated they would e-mail me my perscrption, which they have not done. While I really like Dr. Howard, I will be going somewhere else in the future do to the poor service of the front desk. read more

Alright, let me first say that the last two experiences at the eye doctor's have not been pleasant. This, in contrast, has been quite enjoyable. Dr. Howard was extremely helpful and courteous. I have been in three times (with appointments) and was never waiting for more then five minutes even when I came in early. I thought Dana was very attentive, knowledgeable, and concerned about my eye health and making sure that I got the proper attention. My only word of caution is that the glasses prices are on the designer side of the line, so don't expect to find a 150.00 pair of spectacles. I'm a Warby Parker fan anyway. I'll go back as long as I live in Houston. read more
