This has been my go to Veterinary Clinic for years and I have tremendous respect for Dr. Anderson, the owner and founder of the clinic. She is an amazing and talented Veterinarian that helped guide me through an extremely traumatic experiences with one of my dogs who was likely saved through her expertise which is why it genuinely pains me to write this review. Unfortunately, as of late my experience with Memorial Veterinary clinic has been extremely challenging and I feel like my concerns are not being addressed which brings me here. I weathered through the tumultuous times when the clinic was receiving less than desirable feedback from loyal clients. They also lost a talented veterinarian and I'm aware several clients have followed her as a result. After experiencing a few mishaps with Memorial Vet Clinic I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt after they initiated a complete overhaul of their staff & hired a couple of well qualified veterinarians. I decided to book an appointment with Dr. Harris online well in advanced for a simple annual checkup. Prior to the appointment I ordered Heartgard & Flea prevention for both my dogs through their preferred in-house disrupter which included a generous holiday promotion on the order. Upon my arrival I was informed I would be seeing Dr. McGill. No one told me I would be seeing a different Doctor & the front office receptionist indicated there has been a known issue with the online appointment portal that created the mishap, going as far as saying she wished they would remove the online appointment option all together. For all intents and purposes Dr. McGills exam was satisfactory. However, I received an email that a flea prevention medication my dog has been taking for 8 years was modified to a higher dosage without my knowledge or a simple courtesy call. When the modification was made it increased the price of a completely separate medication by $40, effectively deleting my original holiday promotion. My card was charged automatically and the order was shipped. I made every attempt to contact Memorial Veterinary Clinic & Vetcov to reconcile the mishap. No one has returned my call or email. Dr. McGill never called me about the modification and did not return my call after I was told she was informed numerous times to contact me directly. When a Clinic exhibits this type of behavior it breaks the trust and ethical bond between the client & the provider. You say you're going to do something then you drop the ball. You agree to a price for medication then are blind sided with a noticeable increase with no solutions and no confidence regarding the situation. I was placed in a circle of excuses with the veterinary clinic telling me to contact Vetcov (a third party in-house distributor) & Vetcov telling me to call the Clinic with no one willing to accept responsibility or find a solution. This behavior is inexcusable and unethical. I'm extremely sad and disappointed that my latest experiences have lead me down this path but I hold anyone accountable for the wellbeing of my fur babies to a high standard with certain expectations for the level of care, trust and communication that follows. After spending nearly $300 for an exam and nearly 2K in the last 3 months I expect someone at the very least to return my phone calls and/or emails. read more

I highly recommend this vet in Houston. I booked a last minute appointment and even though they didn't have much time, they took me in anyways. I have not written a review in a long time, but Memorial Vet deserves it. For the last 15 years I have had pets, no other Vet has treated my animals and myself with the same level of care and compassion. From the front desk to the vet techs to the doctors, every single person I encountered here was gracious, patient, professional, and clearly loved animals. From scheduling to communication to care, Memorial Vet is how all clinics should be run. My two dogs and two cats were treated wonderfully. When I had finally had to put my cat of 15 years to sleep, it was one of the hardest things I ever had to do. The only thing that made this experience even relatively manageable was the empathy and love with which Dr. Allison and the entire staff treated my cat and I. They were so sweet and patient, and they were right when they suggested I get the paw print even though at the time it felt too difficult. A few weeks later I also got a notice that the clinic had made a donation in my cat's name. Instead of feeling sad, I cried because it's nice to know there are such good people out there. In short, there's not a single thing I would improve about this clinic. And I'm a picky one. I will be forever grateful for the way this place to care me and my family, and while I moved out of state, I will be singing the praises of his clinic to the rest of my friends and family still in Houston. I made an annual appointment for my cat that has anxiety issues when he goes to the vet, he should have had notes in his file that were correct but they were not. They told me to dose him up with 100 milligrams of gabapentin every 12 hours for 36 hours so he could see the doctor. As much as I hated that, I followed their instructions. Worst 36 hours for me and my sweet fur baby. I gave him his last dose after two days of anguish and they called me three hours before his appointment to tell me that they made a mistake because "he's a spicy baby" and needs to be sedated and dropped off and, "would I like to reschedule for tomorrow?" What? I'm no doctor but I can't imagine that dosing up a 10 pound cat on the maximum dosage the drug company recommends that you would want to put him under the next day. Shame on the carelessness. I would have been understanding if they had told me that to begin with but here I am, taken a day off of work for this and went through an agonizing time drugging my precious angel who now seems very doped up. It's vet clear that they don't care and asked "what do you want me to do?" Since we have told you we will take him tomorrow? I said how about paying me for my 8 hours of vacation time in just took off of work for this???? "In a perfect world Ms." Is what she countered with. Don't ask if you don't want a damn answer! All Leanne would ask or concerned about was making that next appointment but I said I wanted the doctor to call me to explain the irresponsibility of what they had done and how a careless mistake like this would not be done in the future. I got crickets, as expected but she lost two patients that day. One challenging and one good that they bragged about. I'm sure a couple of grand a year isn't anything for them (That is what I've spent in the last year, actually over that) but I put my babies first and I will not work with a quack shack that's only about the dollar. My sweet angles will both be finding a new doctor that actually cares about them. I'm m also not sure that they ever saw the same doctor more than once, and that red flag is one me. Recommend this vet to all my friends! Dr.Longoria always handles my puppy well and never tries to charge me for unnecessary services. Took Miley in this past week since she was sick and I am always super anxious when she's not doing well but he always reassures me that she's doing alright. Dr. Longoria gave her the necessary care for her stomach and she's feeling better! I'm always able to get a same day appointment for my dog. They also did her spay here and removed a couple growth and did an amazing job with that too. Amazing vet and worth the drive even after I've moved farther away from this location. read more

My second time here for my cat. First time was not a bad experience: my cat had some little bumps around the neck. We took him for a regular checkup. They applied flea and fock prevention, just in case of the reason was so. He did not have any other issue and it was only 3 months ago. Second visit was for the annual vaccination of rabies and fcnvp. When I made the appointment, I specifically told them no need for annual checkup since we did it already 3 months ago. When I came to the vet, I told the assistant that this visit is only for vaccination, no need for checkup because my cat doesnt have any issue at all. The vet came and without asking me he started doing the checkup, and the only thing he did is checking the teeth. Then did the vaccines. I though checking the teeth only shouldn't mean the annual checkup. So I didnt ask at all. I paid and got home and checked the e-invoice in my email. Booom: they charged for annual checkup juat for checking the teeth without asking me at all and having mu permission. This place seem like looking for money only. Never ever will go there again. If I realised this there at the clinic, I would talk to them already but it is already too late and I dont want to deal with these people at all. read more

Dr Anderson is a great Vet and she probably single-handedly kept a rescue dog of mine who had heart problems alive for a few extra years. I have gone to this clinic since right after it opened and I think the only two people who worked there were Dr Anderson and her daughter. In recent years they have grown exponentially and I am always happy to see that for any small business. Unfortunately the office is now exceedingly poorly managed. Their internal communication is poor and a phone message, email or text is an utter mystery to them. I received concerning test results on my dog and after responding to Dr Anderson's email and hearing nothing back, I called and left a message which I was assured would be returned the same day. That didn't happen so I texted them - no response. I finally had to take my dog and the test results to another Vet for a consultation. This was two weeks after getting test results that nobody would talk to me about. More diagnostics are necessary but Dr Anderson wanted my dog to go on a medication until the ultrasound could be done. I went today during their office hours to get the meds but they had closed early. They used to have an emergency line to get someone on the phone over the weekend, but no more. They don't even bother to give the information for Gulf Coast in case of an emergency over the weekend. There is just a message saying they will call back on Monday. That would be little consolation in an emergency. Further, I was told that my dog had been taken off of reminders that could have gotten a senior panel done earlier. One person told me that he had not been seen by a Vet since 2018. I knew that to be incorrect and as it turns out she just didn't know what she was talking about. I never asked to be taken off reminders for his care and nobody can explain why this happened. Had a senior panel been done sooner, this might have been caught sooner. I could go on about rudeness and incompetence, but I'm running out of room. Bottom line - great Vet, but you will need to manage you pets care yourself because the office is not run well. They don't talk to each other and they don't talk to you and they do not keep their posted office hours. read more

Was SO disappointed and feel ripped off by this vet. Took my dog to be seen for a very serious health concern. The vet did all sorts of expensive tests and sold us WAY overpriced meds and then would not return our calls for weeks to discuss a plan of action. The vet had only met w me briefly in the waiting area and expressed that she was unsure of how to treat my pet and that she would call my prior vet to see what they would do. The whole interaction was very odd. And then after a massive bill that was paid it took WEEKS for her to respond to our calls and email request to chat more about what to do. It was a total waste of time and money. Very upsetting. read more

I've been coming to them for the last couple years. They have had a few vets that left the facility. That's unfortunate because the first two doctors were great. However as of this year, I feel like the service has gone down greatly. Maybe it's just me that I feel they're not treating with great care. I understand they're always busy. So when my cat suddenly went blind, I had to go see another vet since they were not able to see my cat immediately. It turns out that he has hypertension and is now on medication. I sent a Memorial vet, all of the bloodwork and results. So when I go see them for a secondary blood pressure check it seems like the meds were working. The meds were dispensed by another vet by the way. But I have always felt that memorial vet as my primary vet care. So I went back to them for the follow up blood pressure reading. Needless to say when I went back to them, it was the vet nurse that checked my cat out. Which is fine because they were able to get good readings. However, that was only it. They didn't recommend any changes in dosage which I assumed was fine. There was no future plans like "hey come back for another blood check up or "let's schedule for an echo cardiogram since his levels are pretty high from the bloodwork," etc. I was left was just an invoice and that's it. They didn't recommend me refilling his prescription which at the time I had two weeks left so I wasn't in a hurry. So now I went to see if they were able to dispense his high blood pressure meds. It's been Five days and none of them are working on it. I have called and checked back and they still have not worked on it. I feel like there's no sense of urgency. Granted that I went on a Friday morning, and it was last minute. And then I checked back on Monday and now it's Tuesday. They had plenty of time to review and dispense the med. it's not a complicated medication. I am so disappointed and extremely frustrated. I wanted to love the place since the office staff seems friendly. read more

As background, we spoil our dogs. They are my world. They eat raw food, they have dog sitters when we are out of town, and my elderly bulldog has a stroller when she gets tired on our walks. You get my drift. That being said, I fully endorse Dr. Anderson and her entire crew. The office is amazing and I would not trust anyone else with them. Dr. Anderson always tells us what we need for our babies without trying to pad the bill with unnecessary treatment/charges. Also, she has a lot of experience with brachycephalic dogs, so our 11 year young English Bulldog gets the best care. We live close to the Clinic, so it is convenient for us. However, even if we moved to the Woodlands, I would make the trip to see her for my babies. Go see them. They are the best!! read more

Ever since we have adopted a dog from K-9 Angels (awesome organization to adopt btw), I've been looking for a vet that we like and can feel comfortable in. After trying out a couple, I finally decided to go to Memorial Vet which is actually where K-9 Angels goes to for for most of their procedures for the animals under their wing. I can see why they chose to work with this specific vet. It's quite a drive from where we live, but well worth it. My dog has only been there when he was sick, neutered, and all other unpleasant procedures, but he still seems to enjoy going into the office. Dr. Anderson is such a personable and just a nice person that you immediately feel comfortable yet assured and confident that you are in good hands. Nancy, the nurse from our last visit, was super nice too! They also have always given me a courtesy call post my dog's release after needing immediate medical attention to see how he is doing. I am a new dog mom. My fur baby, Ellie, has been going to Memorial Vet Clinic since I brought her home and Dr. Longoria has been nothing short of AMAZING! Throughout Covid he has been super informative of every step of the vaccine process and gave Ellie the smallest incision for her spay/microchip! She was back to her regular playful self in less than a day (honestly could have used a little longer for her to be calm). This is an important update. Dr. Anderson sent me an email after my review apologizing for the unprofessional staff and vet who was covering that day. It was heartfelt and quite professional. As a result, we make an appointment for my cat who was having a possible serious issue. The upfront staff was courteous and took the cat for her dropoff appointment. Dr. Anderson evaluated the cat, did a biopsy and drained the mass. When I went to pick up my sweet cat, I asked to see Dr. Anderson who was charming. As a physician I can attest that she did a great job and my young cat appears to be responding to antibiotics and draining of lesion. Dr. Anderson had addressed the matter that previously occurred and I now highly recommend the clinic, hence the update. The vet that covered is really not in the picture but I sincerely hope she gained insight from her behavior. I has able to get an appointment the day I called. I was assisted with my pet carrier into the office and back to my car later. We were shown to an exam room immediately and greeted by a nurse very shortly. My little pet didn't have time to become nervous. The vet was so kind, I could tell she really cared about animals and was very thorough, informative and forthcoming. She gave me samples and showed me a website to buy a product she liked. Doctor and vet tech were very informative when it came to vaccinations, answered any questions and concerns we had/have. Brought my two fur babies in for a new prescription for Revolution (for heart worm prevention which is deadly to cats) and was told they needed medical records of their rabies vaccines. Their very thorough & conscientious staff worked tirelessly to help me locate their rabies records from 4 months ago. Was impressed with the cleanliness of the clinic, the gorgeous pet paintings and the way they handled my cats. Vet didn't just tell me of a problem, she actually called me over and showed me what she was seeing. She also took the time to teach me how to monitor heart rate of my 12 yr old cat. read more

I saw Dr. Anderson for my first few visits here - she was excellent and the staff was great. However, when I went this past year, I selected Dr. Anderson as my preference on my appointment form, had her listed as who I was seeing that day, and ended up having a different vet see my dog - someone I hadn't met before. They didn't introduce themselves or why I was seeing them instead of Dr. Anderson, they were extremely fast and didn't do a very good job of answering the questions/concerns I had for my dog. I also asked for a quote for a dental cleaning and to get my dog neutered - they didn't provide, and after two emails to the office asking for this, still never provided. Dr. Anderson was great and the service was great when I first came, but it would appear that isn't the case anymore. read more

Started coming here about one year ago. The prices are okay for the area and the veterinarian seems good, however the staff at the front office are incredibly rude. Everytime I call or come in, it feels like they just don't want to be there or want you to be there. They are very unwelcoming. This has been the experience for both me and my fiancé. We're both friendly, approachable people, so I don't feel like it has been because of our attitude. Also, they don't offer Sunday pickup on boarding. I don't mind spending the extra money for one more day, but my god is it inconvenient to have to pickup Monday morning. Staff someone for a one hour pickup window in the evening! I will be looking for a new vet in 2017. read more

Update 3/27/18 Changing it from two stars to one star. Someone from the clinic reached out to me and wanted me to change this review. Her reasoning was because the front desk doesn't represent Dr. Anderson, and I shouldn't rate this place poorly because of my experiences with the front desk staff. It would've been better if she didn't call. PROS: +location +Dr. Anderson is nice CONS: +Staff up front always has an attitude and talking bad about another customer with another staff while I am paying is extremely unprofessional. +Deal breaker - I needed a record of all the vaccinations my puppy has gotten in order for him to attend preschool. They wasted an hour of my time (giving me false information, making me take my puppy in for more shots when he needed to wait another week) before agreeing to give me the records only if I go in and buy his heartworm/flea meds that he didn't need at the time. Not sure why they were so reluctant to give me my puppy's record ... It seemed like they didn't want to provide that without me doing the next round of shots at Memorial. Now that I have found a new place, I realized they charged at least double for the same meds/services here... read more

I found ONE flea on my dog, and needed a vet in the area quick! Being fairly new, I didn't no which one to go to. Using Yelp I found this vet was on the way to my office, from my apartment complex so of course I love the location! The actual experience was such a treat. The prices were so reasonable, the staff was incredibly friendly, the veterarian was quick and informative, and the space was absolutely adorable! I am almost excited to take my dog back for his next check up because I've never seen such a cute clinic! I definitely recommend for every animal need! read more

I have been taking my dog here for 2 years and cannot say a bad thing about this clinic. My dog usually sees Dr. Anderson, who is a GREAT Veterinarian; we love her!! I have a 4.5 lbs teacup yorkie who was diagnosed with a severe corneal ulcer over the weekend. So, I called to schedule an appointment with Dr. Anderson, but she was out of town. So, I was a little apprehensive seeing a different Veterinarian, especially being in the condition that my dog was in. I scheduled to see Dr. Baskin, and she was GREAT! She was very professional, caring, and knowledgeable. She treated my little one and sent us home with the proper meds, and in the second follow up my little dog had made major improvements! Our second appointment, we got to meet Dr. Romero, who was also great with my little one! So, if you are in need of a great Veterinary Clinic, this is the place. Wonderful experience! Our dog hates the vet and it ends up making me anxious to see her stressed, the staff here however does a wonderful job in calming her. The clinic and waiting room is very clean, there is water and coffee available while you wait. I also liked that they have decorated this place in a way that makes it happy.
