My first choice with good ratings said they would need to keep my laptop for a couple weeks. That wasn't agreeable with me, so I ended up going to ComputerLink. ComputerLink said they may have my laptop fixed by Monday but definitely within the week. I didn't hear from them during the week and returned on the following Saturday - and they didn't even look at it at all. Needless to say, I was a pretty perturbed. The tech called me on the following Tuesday to let me know he's working on my laptop and will call me back when it's done - and I never got a call back. So I again go on Saturday to get a status update on my laptop and they said it's been done - but they didn't call me. They charge $80/hour and charged me for 3 hours. I would think they would call me to let me k is the estimate beforehand - especially if it's going over the initial hour. And highly skeptical it took 3 hours to fix. They took off $40 for their poor customer service but the good news is, they fixed the issue.

Then he told me he would charge me ANOTHER 500 DOLLARS to fix the botched repair job he had done. I went through the roof, telling him you wrecked my son's laptop for 500 bucks and now you want another 500 to wreck it again? He had no answer, not surprisingly. I will never go back to that incompetent thief. I went the Travis AFB exchange and bought my son a new laptop. Problem solved.

Ator quickly diagnosed the problem, a faulty fan and system in need of a deep cleaning (I am guilty of letting my dog sit with me when I use my system and it showed.) He gave me an estimate of two days to get the part ordered, system cleaned and laptop back to me and went above and beyond to make sure that happened. The manager was really rude, he flat out denied me and said "well I don't know how it looked it before you bought it, etc." I really never understood his reasoning since I was within the 15 day return with a RECEIPT & all of the accessories included. I told him the screen was glitching, even showed him a video I recorded while it was happening and he accused me of causing the water damage. I told him I bought it open box and took the risk, why would I waste anyone's time to lie and return it? I wanted to change it and buy a new one knowing I'll have to pay more. Only one person in that store seemed like they like their job or are willing to help. I left, called customer service and asked about the policy. I went to Best Buy Stockton - I explained what happened to the tech specialist manager in Stockton and he was understanding and amazing!! He said I was within the 15 day returned policy and he was able to give me Advice on which warranty to purchase should anything happen to the brand new lap top. All they are is muscles and balked at having an unfamiliar hook up for water line into my new GE refrig/freezer and having to remove the doors to go through a kitchen door. Even their supervisor was a failed experience. Back at Stockton store they had no apology or any responsibility to customer. The solution, try again in 3 days different delivery people. In the meantime, my food sits in ice chest???? Best Buy needs to realize their name sold the items and their name is at stake with terrible customer service. Don't sell what you can't deliver with installation! Delivery doesn't mean you leave the item in the garage like one of my driver/installers wanted to do! In mid November of 2025, I took my laptop in for repair because it wouldn't boot up and I needed it…read morefor my upcoming finals. It took about less than a week to get it back, but they said it had a faulty NVME so I needed to pay nearly $300 for a replacement. They also verbally said Windows couldn't load but the paper they gave back clearly stated it did boot. But by the time I took it home, I tested it out myself. I inserted the "so called faulty NVME" and my laptop DID boot up. I thought I still had a battery issue because it would only boot up while it was charging. I then saw they disconnected the thin wire to the battery which directed current from the power supply. They never plugged it back in. After finding that out, I did my own diagnostics and couldn't see any issues with my NVME. I used the Windows Powershell terminal to check on the NVME's health and there were no issues what so ever. I went back to ask what exactly the issue was and what actually got my laptop to turn on, because clearly it wasn't the NVME. The man got mad and wanted me to take down any review with the return of the $100, but I refused. I will never know what they did to get my laptop to turn on again, but I do know they scammed me into believing my OS couldn't boot and I needed their NVME replacement for $300... Usually NVMEs fail early on when getting a new laptop (infant mortality rate of 3-6 months) and I've had this laptop for many years now. NVMEs don't even have anything to do with the battery so this tipped me off. They used simple NVME health tools which I replicated (they mentioned CrystalDiskInfo) and saw NOTHING wrong. They either don't know what they're doing/talking about or they're intentionally scamming. Get your laptop issues fixed else where and save your money. They are not transparent and will create issues rather than fix it. Glad they turned on my laptop at least. That's all I needed. Do your own research as well and understand what EXACTLY they're telling you.
