My family purchased a fridge from here & while their delivery people were taking the fridge into our house they ripped the wiring for the lights on our freezer / freezer door. They left it and we later found the ripped off wiring in pieces and inside of the freezer. We have been without lights for a year now and they refuse to contact us back or make this right or they say they are "looking into it" and no communication happens past that. They refused to honor our 1 year warranty and keep pushing back communication (if there is any) so that it goes past the 1 year & they will no longer be held responsible. Joe, the owner is thee most disrespectful "business owner" if you want to call it that & refuses to take any sort of responsibility for his employees. Joe is also unprofessional when it comes to handling these sorts of situations & often resorts to calling you names. We wanted to support local businesses and unfortunately for Burns & Sons that will NEVER happen again & I will be sure to deter anyone & everyone far far away from here.

Upon contacting the business, we were…read moreinformed that service would take two weeks due to their single technician also serving community non-purchase-related calls. Despite being warned about visible scratches and dents and requesting a video of the washer functioning, no video was provided, though we proceeded with the purchase based on assurances it worked. the technician claimed the washer was damaged during transport into our home, citing improper dolly placement, and quoted a $500 repair cost. We were told the motor was overheated, and destroyed. However, the delivery method matched the business's own process, because our household has industrial mechanic expertise. The owner, Amy, responded unprofessionally to our online review, dismissing our concerns, emphasizing her four years in business, her technicians 20, and accusing us of lying. Additionally, we were unexpectedly charged for a service visit to assess the issue, without prior disclosure or consent. Phone calls can be pulled to prove this. The owner's communication was disorganized, introducing irrelevant claims and lacking professionalism. This charge was never forced or followed up with showing that they accept they have no legal claim. Due to this experience, and the loss of 600$, we filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and worked with Waldron Technician who stated nothing damaged inside except for inverter board which is underneath machine in plastic box NEXT to motor. (you will notice any now claims it WAS the inverter board, not the motor, despite detailed notes being taken as soon as the technician left our home) Waldron Replaced it for 100$ And it now has no issues.Waldron technician think there's no way we could have damaged it on transport, and they are screwing us. He was open to being named publicly and provided us a voice memo statement to be used down the road if we pursue legal action- we were no longer interested in doing this until the owner decided to respond to a review with incorrect information, and taking aim at our rightfully disgruntled additude, further attempting to lie to our community. For a reliable alternative, we recommend Discount Appliance near Kwik Star in Davenport. Their employee, Reese, provided excellent service, delivering a functional dryer, oven, and refrigerator without issues, with no issues. The dryer we got from him was the same model and year, and worked after we touched it, including clear delivery instructions with a giant sticker on where to place the dolly. We advise choosing a business with better staffing, organization, and accountability to avoid similar experiences.

    I wouldn't even give them a star if that was an option. Very displeased with the way this business…read moreis ran! This is an issue that has been ongoing for months. Here's the story: We had Jim from Affordable Washer & Dryer Repair come to diagnose an issue with our washing machine - he was paid $45 for the service. He returned to "fix" the issue at 7pm when our appointment was at 4pm with no call as to where he was or if he was still coming - nonetheless he was paid $280 for the service. He broke a part during that time, had to order a new one, and left us with a washing machine that couldn't be used. Weeks later, he finally returned and again "fixed" the new issue he had caused and attempted to charge us $30 for the part that he had broken. Within a week the washing machine was making the same LOUD noise during the spin cycles that we paid the man $325 to fix. He claimed he would fix it for free after I left a stern voicemail, but since he has refused to respond to any of our calls or texts since BEFORE Christmas. This business is not honest, not trustworthy, not timely or prompt, and is by no means run by the Repair Master that he refers to himself as. -Hannah Aguilar

He told my wife that he would be here in an hour or hour and a half. The hour and a half came and went with no phone call about running late. 3 1/2 hours later he finally showed up. We had the washing machine completely unhooked and ready for him when he got here. He looked it over and quoted my wife a price and we were alright with it. We were going to go ahead and have him fix it. My wife mentioned to him that the dryer we purchased from him over a year ago still wasn't drying laundry very well and we had to run clothes thru two cycles to get them dry. He said our problem was that the dryer was back too close to the wall and the exhaust vent was not able to circulate the air out. My wife reminded him of the fact that we had him out to repair the same issue 3 days after we bought the thing from him and he supposedly fixed it. It's in the exact same position he put in in when he "fixed" it. It never has worked correctly and we called numerous times and left messages about it, but never a return call. She was very pleasant with him and not at all argumentative, but he became extremely rude with her and told her he doesn't argue with customers so he wasn't going to fix anything for us. He then promptly grabbed his things and left. We found out the problem with our dryer is a thermostat and nothing to do with being too close to the exhaust outlet. I would most certainly advise anyone looking for honest appliance repair to steer clear of this business and find a more reputable one.
