The guys that use the forklifts always help out when I need 20 sheets or more of OSB and bring them right to out to my truck. This Menards definitely values their Customers! read more

Menards has a wide variety of products for sale. Most of the time, you can find what you are seeking at one of their Super Center Stores! The Menards personnel are knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend them for "Do it yourself" customers! read more

Overall I like this Menards. Much nicer than the one on Miller Pkwy, and not as huge and overwhelming as the Home Depot nearby on National. Had a good interaction with Amanda at customer service/returns desk. She took care of a somewhat complicated return involving things bought in store, things bought online, and the purchase of one new item to replace one of the returns. I also came in with the wrong paperwork for the things I ordered online and picked up, and she told me how to get new receipts for those using the nearby touch screen systems. The West Allis Menards is easy to find things in, I feel like this location is not as big as some of the other stores. I like the smaller store, it is not overwhelming to me. The locals were helpful when I shopped, one of the customers helped me find ant bait and even told me coffee grinds could help. I just may make the drive to this store again for sheer size of it. read more

This is not my favorite Menards, but it's conveniently located on hwy 100 near numerous other stores, which makes running errands easy. It's one of the older Menards in the area so they may not carry everything option of a product-yet they have enough to fulfill needs. I tend to use the Menards app to see if the item I'm looking for is available even at this store before I go crazy walking in circles looking for it. The staff has always been helpful here, but the inside could use a refresh and brighter lighting. read more

Staff were surprisingly inept at knowing where product was stocked which I can kinda give a pass to because it's a large store. But customer service was pathetic. I got to Menards on Hwy 100 and found the spot on the shelf where specific the GFCI outlets I need are supposed to be. Of course it was empty, even though the website says they have 16 in stock. There was a guy stocking a shelf behind me, so I asked him if they had any hoping he could find them for me. He said yes, in the back. That was it. Didn't offer to go look for them. Just stood there and looked at me after saying that. I was pissed and left. I shouldn't have to ask him to go look for it if it's not on the shelf and they have 16 in stock and having worked in retail before, I understand that "they're in the back" is usually code for I'm not going to bother trying. Provide a little customer service instead of being lazy and go look for them. What a waste of time. read more

I fully expect to be irritated every time I visit a Menards, but I do it from time to time because they often have "that one weird thing" my husband needs for a project. This location is, by far, the WORST Menards in the metro area which is really saying something. Aisles are unbelievably cramped, barely enough for a cart to get through. On my visit today, multiple aisles were stacked with crap (pallets of stock, garbage bins, junk) meaning they were impassable. That's probably a major fire code violation. Despite the ginormatron footprint of the store, selection is very limited. I was truly surprised to see that Hobo had much more to choose from in most categories. They may in fact have had what we needed today, but we couldn't find it because everything is totally disorganized. Perhaps someone can explain the logic of having an aisle filled with multiple types of caulk AND a pallet of 2-liter 7-Up soda? WTF? Staff goes out of their way to avoid your questions or be helpful in any way. Their annoying jingle tells you that you'll "save big money at Menards" but I found them higher priced on almost every single item we were shopping for (in most cases quite significantly) versus Home Depot. This Menards resembles a poorly run garage sale, not an actual retail establishment. read more

The staff in here is so bad behaved. Mathew the bigger kid on register today is the rudest person. He messed up on my check out then when I called him on it he was confused and rude. He was speaking to another male employee playing and flirting with him, he then said "Iam having a great day but he isnt having a great day !" and pointed at another male walking toward the front desk?? How about helping a customer instead of flirting with the other boys. Why do I need to hear all this when All I want yo do is buy my stuff and leave . He couldn't find the item he didnt ring from my pile so he had to go through the entire transaction - more of my time wasted - and then refused to hand me my bagged items?? Its your job to put the bag across the counter by the ATM instead of being rude and have me walk around to the other area, its covid and I want to keep my distance from a teenager if you know what I mean. Then he said As he raised his hand to my face "You have a fricking GOOD day!" What, dont hold up your hand in my face and speak to me that way - what is going on in this place?? Store layout is impossible to find things. Asked an associate where the air compressors were and he sent me to the opposite end of the store... when I got there I was in the bathroom section. I then asked another associate for help and find out the compressors were 2 isles away from where I originally was. Also their inventory is very poor compared to the other menards in the area. Next time I'll drive the extra 10-15 minutes out of the way to go to the menards at Miller park. I don't know how this one is still in business. Finally, I don't know if it was just the day I was there but there was no or very poor A/C. It was 87 degrees outside with high humidity and pretty close to the same inside the store. Everyone inside including the employees were visually hot (red/sweating). I feel bad for the employees. read more

Oddly enough, this happens to be one of my favorite hardware stores in the area. It's not quite as good as the Ace up the street, but it's bigger and a lot better than the HOBO and Home Depot in the area. Honestly, if the customer service could be this good at the other Menards, I would probably go there considering I have to special order anything outside of a hammer and nails since this store is so small. It's very comforting knowing that if I need anything, I can find someone sitting at the desk without fail. That's a great thing to have in any hardware store, and the Home Depots, HOBO's and other Menards in the area just don't do it well. This store fills a need in this neighborhood a lot better than some of its competitors. read more

An old format Menard's, one of the few such left in our area. This store really needs to be torn down and redone, but I doubt there's a spot nearby where they could actually do that. The parking lot empties onto Arthur, which only allows you to turn south onto Hwy 100. You can also meander on down past the Kohl's, Pick N Save, and other stores to exit on Cleveland, but some idiot is likely to jump out in front of your car. It's not worth the stress. Inside the store is very crowded, but they actually manage to cram quite a bit of stuff in. Given a choice between this and the nearby Home Depot, I'll choose the Home Depot... or travel a few miles south to the beautiful Menards in Franklin at Speedway Center or whatever it happens to be called. read more

Excellent customer service. Employees go out of their way to help you find things. I think signs are clear and the store is well organized. I always find a good selection on things I need. Someone commented that the isles were narrow and they could hardly get down them. I suppose that's true if you are morbidly obese other than that I have no issues with the isle width. I gave a four star because yes it is not as large as the other Menards and sometimes it's necessary to get things at the bigger stores. Don't change a thing and keep up the friendly helpful atmosphere. read more

I really like menards in general but this location needs more space. The layout is hard to navigate compared to the larger stores. It also takes away from the ability to spy all the same merchandise. This is specifically about the West Allis store on hwy 100. I have been a long time customer of Menards. Nearly always have what I'm looking for and at prices that repeatedly beat Home Depot and Lowe's. HOWEVER, at this location, I have all to often experienced terrible customer service within the departments, floor people not having knowledge of product location, staff seamingly irritated that they need to provide assistance and cases of just rudeness. (I should however point out that the customer service counter staff and the cashiers have always been friendly and helpful.) Due to a move, this was the closest store to my new home but while I'd rather not pay higher prices...it's looking like I may need to patronize HD or Lowe's. read more

This is a decent store, good prices, but I take issue with their website. You cannot return things that don't work without a huge penalty. We bought $240 solar lights for the new porch. They did not fit in the posts so we tried to take them back. They charge a 25% restocking fee. For a small item, not a big deal. But for this it really sucked. They called the lights "custom ordered". I disagree. Custom ordered is like a board cut to a certain size, not lights still in the packaging, unused. Lesson learned. Always read the return policy before ordering online, local store or not. read more

Old school look on the outside, treasures are found on the inside!! So many discounts but not a huge selection. We went there looking for plants. There was little to none found. The lawn art is cute and low priced. They have a ton of lighting and miscellaneous house supplies. I purchased 32 treated 8'x6"x6". We drove around to the back to pick them up. There were three "guards" at the entrance. One of them was a woman who seemed to be in charge. I was in the lead van. I told her that the van behind me was mine also and they were taking half of the load. She argue with me that one van was enough to hold the whole order. I found it odd that a 40 year old woman working for $7 an hour thought she was smarter than me and knew how much weight my van could hold. After I asked her if the store would pay for my transmission the discussion ended. To add to my disgust, on the way out, the guard eventually looked up from his iPhone and then lazily stood up and walked over. My time is worth far too much to be bothered with this sort of thing. Had I gone to a real lumberyard, I would never have had to deal with Menards subpar employees. I took the time to write a detailed letter to the manager. No response! read more
