There were 4-5 different pastries. There was a good selection of desserts. I was there on a Friday morning around 9:30. There were several open tables. It was about a 5 minute wait for my iced latte. Both pastries were tasty. The Croissant was buttery goodness. I appreciated that it didn't flake everywhere. I only had a bite of the Cinnamon Raisin Roll. That was my husband's and he enjoyed it. Went in and grabbed some coffees and pastries. They gave me one iced drink even though I wanted it hot, but they remade it. Coffee tasted good but it was more warm than hot. By the time I got the other one home , about 10-15 mins away, it was damn near room temp. I'd normally give it 3 stars but I don't think it's one of those huge corporate chains and the staff was really nice, plus it's a great location and has a good menu so I'm going to come back to eat breakfast. read more

I'm all about customer service and this little local business didn't disappoint. Good parking in this business, we were able to find parking while towing the trailer. I called ahead asking about parking and the gentlemen was so nice telling us we could fit. We ordered over the phone, pancakes, breakfast burrito, French toast. Extremely helpful workers. I love that the girls here are never nicer than they need to be. They don't smile, they're not friendly, they're not helpful and they definitely don't care that you're there to pay for a service. They'll give you the wrong size coffee every time and roll their eyes at you if you have any questions or human experiences at all -- God forbid you need a minute to look at the menu. I'm not sure if they are just extremely unhappy at work, or have chosen this collective bad attitude as a stand against a patriarchy that pressures to women to smile even on their worst days, but they keep me on my toes, and the pastries are good, so I keep coming back. Visiting some friends in oceanside and they brought us to this cute little bakery near their house! They serve breakfast and lunch (sandwiches), and have a HUGE array of pastries, cakes, croissants, tarts... beautifully laid out french-style. You can sit inside or outside. I got their omelette and wasnt super impressed. The fruit looked a little old, and the baguette was really soft - not toasted or crusty. I've been coming to O'side bakery every weekend for almost a year, and it's delicious every time. Their coffee selection is good. They come out with a seasonal menu too. Their scrambles, and croissants are incredible. I get the breakfast burrito, or the ham and cheese croissant weekly. I've tried all the sandwiches, but none have really hit home for me. The service is awesome everyone is so kind and helpful. It's a cozy atmosphere inside with art on the walls that I think artists are having for sale. The outdoor seating is nice as well. My only gripe is that the brewed coffee is sometimes not very hot!! And that's frustrating. But all their crafted and espresso drinks are pretty great. read more

Highlights! Service is always on point no matter who helps you. The pastries are fresh daily (we always take about 3-4 home) and their regular breakfast and lunch menu is tasty and filling. The restaurant is self seating after you order and the restaurant is consistently clean, soft music in the background, and rotating artists are featured on their walls. We love coming here (weekly if possible). We like to bring our pups and sit on the sizable patio outside, but there is more than enough room to sit inside too. The front of the house team is always moving (serving, cleaning, welcoming guests, etc.) but they are they are always personable and polite. Thank you to Joey who helped us today; we left the register laughing. Everything about this little cafe was to-die-for. It feels like a small town hub, with locals gathered around every table. What impressed me most was their wide selection of baked goods. Had breakfast here and it was absolutely delicious! I ordered an omelet with artichokes, ham, and pesto (forgot the name, but highly recommend it!) -- the flavors were amazing and perfectly cooked. We tried a variety of pastries ans breakfast items and they were all tasty. The fruit tart is scrumptious! And the sausage croissant was one of the best I've had in a while - it was simple but with quality ingredients. The service was hit or miss, with on visit being a little standoff-ish and the second the service was so welcoming. There was plenty of seating and very open and airy, lending itself to a nice ambiance. I like that they have a sign not to save tables until you have ordered so people actually have a chance to find a spot when done ordering. Love the food, bakery items are pretty good. The bfast sandwich on a croissant is my favorite and the stuffed French toast. When I discovered this place, I was coming once or twice a week because it was so good. My main critique is the staff - so unfriendly where I have stopped coming here because it feels like they'd rather be anywhere else than at work. Anytime you checkout with the cashier's taking your order, they don't smile and are generally unfriendly. It's been a real mood killer to even come there. First time to O'Side Bakery today. Met a friend there after my spouse suggested it - we are locals and love supporting our small eateries. We came in around 0745, so it wasn't busy...no wait to order, plenty of seats, good vibe. We order - I ordered avocado toast with two eggs over easy...coffee. Safe order, hard to miss on that one and it's a SoCal staple. The fellow that took our order was very friendly and polite. All good. When the food came out, it seemed to unravel. A couple of things a local place simply cannot do: first, take customers for granted - every one is a potential repeat customer, second, not pay attention to the details - that's where the proverbial Devil lives in the customer service/small eatery business. That's a simple value proposition for a neighborhood place. The toast tasty, but bone dry, the avocado was essentially an avocado spread on the toast with a fork - not the usual spruced up...cold and only around 2/3s of the toast with a fork and the "over easy" eggs were overdone and hard...someone turned their back on them. Two stars off the top...clearly the lack of attention to detail on a simple but notoriously good SoCal dish was obvious. A Monday morning affair? Maybe? Don't know but you may only get one shot...make every one count The third star dropped was the value. I don't mind spending the extra money for boutique bakery breakfast if the food takes priority, but that wasn't the case. Sorry, but I don recommend it and won't be back. read more
