I've become kind of an ice cream snob over the years and even though I love Dairy Queen, I try to come to places like this because I think their more my speed. Yes, it's frozen yogurt, but it's delicious! The date and I have had Menchie's before, but not that this particular location. Most of them have been decent to date, but this one was really good. It was 8 o'clock on a Saturday night, and this really could have really gone either way. Walking in, the place was clean, well stocked and had everything in place. We were greeted and got our cups to the machines to see what flavors they had. I got the cake batter and the date got the cheesecake flavored yogurt. We both worked our way to the condiment bar and it was well stocked and clean! I've been to a Menchie's before where it wasn't in good working order, and let me tell you, not a good thing! There's plenty of seating inside and out, which we loved. Tables were clean, and they even have a cool fireplace to sit around and enjoy yourself here. Came here with my gf (who has never tried frozen yogurt or soft serve before) under the impression she could sample at least one flavor as every other frozen yogurt place I've ever been to allows at least one sample cup. The girl working was rude about it, wouldn't even give us a spoon until after I paid for mine and when she put a spoon in my yogurt it had random crumbs on it. After a nice family dindin at a Chinese restaurant near by. We talked about where to get dessert and I think we all unanimously voted Menchies for some ice cream. Having never been here before, they described it to me as somewhat of the self serve PinkBerry type shop. So yea,, I get it. Everything is pretty bright and lit up inside. There's little Dixie cups to use if you fancy a sample of the ice cream. Just so that you don't waste ice cream that isn't suitable to your palette. Anyways, I went with the sugar free vanilla bean. Some gummy bears and organic brownie crumbles. Girl at the counter cashed us out. Sat down and ate my ice cream with the fambam. It was pretty good,, the ice cream tasted like ice cream,, the gummies tastes like gummies and the brownies tasted like brownies. I had a pretty pleasant experience here. I've never been to a Menchies before and this one just opened in my neighborhood. They charge by the ounce so no small, medium, or large cups to worry about; purchase as much or as little as you want. Plenty of flavors including cake batter when I visited. Also fat free, sugar free and sorbets to choose from. Even more toppings are offered. I was very happy with my choices. I would sample the frozen yogurt before you try to put every flavor in your cup. They have small paper pill dispenser cups for sample sized tastes. read more

I had been to a Menchie's in Atlanta last year, and it was great. I had no idea Michigan had locations until I saw someone check-in on Facebook at the Canton location! I think the Warren one is new and it's the closest one to me - Shelby Twp. would be second-closest but is not open yet. Went here on a date tonight and it was just as good as I remembered it to be. It's 49c/oz. which is decent, a few Troy froyo places are 51c/oz. The only suggestion I would make is have a few more non-tart flavors, as I don't like tart yogurt usually. I got mint, chocolate brownie, and one other, I think, and added some M&Ms and other toppings; it was pretty good. I would definitely come back here when in the area! There's outdoor seating too, it was about 80 out tonight (yay for warm weather, finally!) so it was nice to sit outside. read more

They also typically have a dairy free option which is great. A huge and delicious selection of toppings, all the candy you can think of. They also have a fruit bar, amazing mochi pieces, and lots of sauces to add to your concoction. They weigh by lunch, I believe it's .59 cents so my total is usually around $15. There's always coupons floating around and join their rewards program for frequent $5 offs. I come here every month with my sister and we have a great time making our personalized yogurt. My first introduction to Menchies was in Vancouver, WA and I was quickly hooked on this new concept and yummy frozen yogurt. I was thrilled when they came to Albuquerque and bought $10 gift cards for each of my 26 nieces and nephews as a way to offer them a Menchies treat on their birthdays. Store 117 on Montgomery and Juan Tabo has changed all that. When my nephew went in to redeem a gift card, he was told it had expired and consequently paid for the yogurt. I had bought $100 in gift cards from that store so I spoke with the manager who asked for his CC receipt. I presented this and reminded the manager that by law gift cards couldn't expire until 5 years after the "expiration date". She checked with the owner who refused to offer a replacement $10 gift card. I gave the documentation requested and the owner said it had been over a year. I suggest going elsewhere. read more

Stopped by late Saturday night with some family. A huge selection of favors and toppings. I've seen this type of setup at various malls but this is obviously a store. You can mix and match anything and everything to your preference. Once you make your cup of frozen yogurt, simply put it on the weight scale and you pay $.56 (cents) per ounce plus tax. What's perfect to have on the way home after a movie on a balmy Friday night? I was thinking gelato but this place was on the way home so frozen yogurt it is. What's great about this chain is that they're open fairly late. Up to 11 pm Sundays through Thursdays and midnight on Friday and Saturday. This seems like the go-to hangout for high school/middle school kids. Also lots of families with their little ones filtering in and out for an after-dinner treat. They have little paper cups sitting on a tray in the back that you can use to sample any of the flavors which is majorly awesome. One of my friends can't have any dairy so in terms of non-dairy options they did have two sorbets, pink-lemonade and honeydew melon. I sampled both and they were tasty. I liked the tartness of the pink-lemonade but I'm partial to the cake flavored froyos so I went that route. I made some kind of sour patch kid, cookie dough, chocolate fudge with malted milk powder, maraschino cherry, mochi, strawberry kiwi concoction. I think that was me restraining myself too so watch out. Sooooo many toppings to choose from that your dessert can end up being a Frankenstein of flavors. There was a decent amount of outdoor seating and even a fire pit table but it was way too hot to sit around that. Be prepared to spend about $5 per cup and if you pack on the heavier items, even more than that. I only wished they kept the stations a little cleaner after the kids had ransacked some of them. I also unwittingly scooped a rotten strawberry into my froyo which made me a little sad. Overall, a decent place to hang out on a weekday night to catch up with friends. As a West coaster, Pinkberry is still my numero uno but Menchie's is a very acceptable substitute. read more

It was frozen yogurt but I won't hold that against them ;) . Points for being open late (especially in winter). I pulled up to the stop and the first thing I noticed was a fire pit. how very cool! Then I walked in and it was adorable. The cute little characters really gave the place a nice and happy feel. They had branded merchandise which was a nice touch. Points for Ambiance and wow factor! They had an awesome selection of Yogurt with diverse flavors. Some better than others but the Banana Pudding flavor was bomb and I've never had it anywhere else. Points for selection. Then I walked to the register to pay and this is my only minus and why it lost a star. The employee clearly did not want to be there. She wasn't rude exactly just... Unresponsive? I am a huge fan of frozen yogurt and Menchie's is my favorite in the area. They always have 10-12 flavors to choose from including sugar free, dairy free, fat free, etc. I like that they have sample cups available to try before you buy. Unlike many other frozen yogurt places in the area, they allow you to help yourself to a sample which I prefer.
