My daughter got into a collision in San Ramon. We live in San Jose. Her insurance company declared the car totaled but it's a fairly new Corolla and we thought it was worth fixing. Ted quoted us $5000 to fix the car and we had quite a decision to make. We decided we couldn't replace the car for that much and they fixed the car. When we came to pick the car up it vibrated badly when driven in reverse. I was pretty POed and we left the car. A couple of days later they called to say the car was fixed. This is the best auto body and paint shop in Danville, if you are looking for high quality, fair prices, and professionalism. I previously worked with Ted Mendelson directly. A year ago he sold the business to Jose. I went in today to discuss follow up on work I had done two years ago. The body work and paint were done well, but my convertible had self damaged some paint. I was immediately introduced to Jose and he assured me that his reputation and customer satisfaction was top priority. Although it was my cars fault this happened, he was willing to honor the shops previous work and assured me he would make this right. That is why he deserves 5 stars. Hands down these guys put their customers first. They are honest, reliable , and do outstanding work. I brought in my Range Rover after it had been keyed severely by some random kids. In the process , I realized there were other items that needed attention. Rather than push expensive cost, they found after market items that were nearly 50 percent less and just as effective ! Of course , they give you the choice. But this is the kind of place that just wants to look out for your best interests. When I picked up the Rover, not one scratch remained. It was flawless and my mirror with the after market looked just like a factory replacement. I just now stopped in with my other Rover after a mild fender bender. They were gracious enough to apply a touch up paint on my bumper and clear coat . It was a tiny spot . He had quoted me $1000 but offered this choice too since it was such a small spot and it avoided painted the entire bumper. I offered to pay , but they said no! Again. Customer first. My driver's side mirror on 2003 ES 300 was destroyed. Vic found a perfect match, with no touch-up necessary, speeding up the time I was happily back in my driver's seat! Secondly, working with Jose is a customer's dream. He listens and really hears what I experienced. Then he goes about getting everything taken care of to even better than it was before. In this case a 17 yo new driver backed into my 17 yo bumper. The age of my car had a lot to do with the extensive damage. No worries! One of the honestly and friendliness I've been deal with for a long time. My van's bottom cover was loosed and almost fall to the ground. Brought in to Mendelson for an estimate. Victor took a look and indicated that it could be fixed by clipping it back. They proceed to fix it in 10 minutes. When I asked how much it cost, it was surprisingly cheap ... $0. They don't even charged me for the parts. Some business will most likely tell you that they need to replace this and that and charge you an arm and a leg for parts and labor. Mendelson Autobody would not cheat customers just to make money. I don't give them 5 stars because they do not charge me. Rather it is because of their honesty, friendliness, and quality of works. Had the most wow experience here. Had damage on my '14 Prius which wasn't covered by insurance. Estimates from other well known community auto body repair places were in $2200-2800 range. Other places couldn't even give me an appointment for an estimate for 2-6 wks hence. @ Mendelson, Jose hooked me up w/ an estimate of $1100 if I paid in cash. If I paid by check, it would've still cost well less than $2000. They charge 3% fee for credit card. They offered to match the paint on the spot, but I opted to come back the next day. That took about half hr. A day later, brought in my Prius, and an hr and half later, she looked like new, seamless, spotless, washed clean and smooth as a baby's bottom. Jose and his staff couldn't be more gracious, friendly and accommodating. Excellent work done quicker, way cheaper, w/ more amazing service than the other guys. Experiences like this restore my faith in American small businesses & remind me that great values are out there, and we should be supporting them w/ our business. read more
