I legit just left this store maybe 5 minutes ago.. I was going to get a nice shirt for my dad, and one for myself... I wanted to take a picture to send to my mom to help me pick the guy said I'm not allowed to take a photo?? And when I was when he closes "I get asked that everyday, it's aggravating, I'm here all the time" ok? So you don't have hours of operations? Guy missed out on a $150 sale because he was an A**, been it business for 45 years and I can't imagine how. read more

Rude! My out of state cousin from Iowa was looking for a nice vacation shirt. He found one he liked on $15.99 sale rack outside store. Older man at counter was so rude to my cousin's wife when we went to pay. "Ok. Cheap is cheap. Makes me sick. I deal with this all the time." She proceeded to pay - I would have walkedat least she gave him a peace of her mind. She came out to tell me and had tears!! He made her that upset!! Who criticizes someone over a purchase - we buy within our budget!! I will never take another visiting family member or friend to this store!I love where I live and sharing this lovely town. First off let me say that had I been a dishonest person, I could have walked out of his store with several items without paying for them as the owner was nowhere to be found in the store. Who leaves their doors wide open and leave the store unattended. I had to go to the store across from his and ask the young lady working there if she knew who was working there. She told me an old man and he likes to walk around out of the store. Well she helped me find him and he was in the next store talking with somebody. I asked him if he was working next door and he kind of glared at me but we went into his store. I found a couple of items that I wanted to purchase and asked him if the sizes are true to size and he basically gave me a look and said they run a little big. I have read other peoples comments of how he was rude to them and I could sense this in him, but I think because I wouldn't give him a chance to be rude to me, he was okay. I wasn't rude to him at all but without saying anything to him that would give him a chance to be rude, I was very direct with him and made my purchase and was satisfied with what I bought, I was also there last year in the spring time and there was a woman working there who was very pleasant and she told me that the owner has been known to be very rude to customers. The products I purchased are of very good quality and I would go back again to buy from this store because I like the quality and styles the store carries. read more

We were looking for a shirt for my husband. The sales associate, a much older gentleman, stated they did not carry my husbands size and that it would have to be ordered. I opened my phone to answer a text message and the associate accused me of taking pictures of clothing items in the store. Mind you, these were not original designs by this person behind the counter. They were clothing ordered from a wholesaler to be re-sold in that store. I said that I was not and I was on my text messages and even showed him the phone. He started cussing at me and told me to get the fuck out of his store. I said oh, you can't even apologize even when I showed you that you were wrong. He continued to hurl obscenities at me saying fuck multiple times. We left the store. read more

Rude does not even describe my encounter. 0 stars for this one. I was shopping at the Men's Shop (the one right behind the Five Fishes) in the Sponge Docks Shoppes and was asked to leave the store by the owner and threatened to call the police on. I was looking to purchase a shirt for my 20 something son and have purchased from there in the past. I had been in there a bit and felt like he was trying to rush me into making a decision and trying hard sell tactics. I really wasn't paying attention much as I was just trying to look at the shirts. He had earlier told me I couldn't take pictures of the merchandise (not that I had tried because I didn't). I had 3 shirts picked out and was checking care labels bc I wanted an easy to care for shirt (not dry clean only etc). I was then accused of "scoping out the store" for the competition whatever that means, and told "who shops that way, checking labels". I initially thought the man was joking but quickly realized he was not. I tried to explain what I was doing and why, however, the shop owner was not interested in my explanation and told me to leave. He threatened to call the police on me and called me a wacko on my way out of the store. I am pretty upset about the whole encounter. I am appalled and flabbergasted. I have NEVER been treated that way in a store. Needless to say, I will not be shopping that that store again, which is too bad because I liked that little shop and it gave me a chance to shop local. I live local! All of this ruckus because I was checking care labels! It appears the shop owner is afraid of competition? I am not sure what to think... Across from Five Fish in Tarpon Springs, this is a tucked away shop that offers Men a chance to shop for some incredibly nice shirts. They offer fine cotton pirate shirts, or actual Hawaiian Shirts (made in Hawaii) for reasonable prices. They even have a few items for the lady. The sales lady (I think she was the owner of the store) is from South Africa, and is just wonderful to speak with. read more

The owner is just plain rude. We live in the area and have been trying to visit the store but it seems to be closed more often than not. My parents came to visit and we decided to take them to the sponge docks and for the first time they were open. We had been browsing their clothing for less than five minutes when the man at the counter curtly asked what we were looking for and we told him we were unsure, at which point he told us that he "doesn't need this" and told us to leave the store. He was unfriendly the entire time we were in his store (again less than five minutes.) It was decent quality, but frankly a bit overpriced and his bad attitude shows why we have never seen customers in his store nor it ever being open. The worst part is that my wife has really been wanting me to get some new all-cotton clothing and would probably have bought several items from him otherwise. Lost business and I'd avoid it if I were you. There is another store that sells the same type of clothing nearby and they are much nicer read more

DON'T shop in this store!!! Went in to this store with my friend who was visiting from up north to look for shoes for her husband. She wanted to buy them for him but was concerned that they might be too wide & I reminded her that she will be back down here with her husband in a few months, why doesn't she wait and bring him in and have him try them on in person at that time. That's when the store owner went ballistic & kicked us out of the store because we weren't ready to buy them right then. He swore at us & said women are all alike. They come in & look & never buy. He kept shouting at us to get out of his store! After talking about it to people in the area, I learned that he kicks people out of his store several times a day. He tells customers who ask how much an item is that if they have to ask, they can't afford it & tells them to get out! Do yourself a favor & don't go in!! read more

I don't recommend anyone shopping in this store. The owner John Tripodo is a horrible man and an unethical store owner. We purchased two items in the store on Jul 2, 2018. When I returned home one and one half hours away I noticed my husband's shirt had a tear in it. I was hoping to do the exchange via mail but was unable to reach the store owner by phone. First I left a voice mail to no avail and then tried calling multiple times but was hung up on. I decided to go back to the store and was basically ignored when I mentioned I had left a message and called multiple times to be hung up on. He said his phone rings off the hook. Bear in mind in the two times I was in the store the phone did not ring once and no one else came in the store. He was very rude about my exchange but put another shirt quickly in my bag. I asked him if it was the same size and was told yes. After I left the store I examined the shirt for quality but did not realize until I got home he gave me one size larger. In talking to the workers in stores near him my feelings were confirmed how horrible he treats his customers. He's very nice if you are purchasing an item but if any issues he is totally unprofessional, rude and untrustworthy. This man doesn't deserve to be a store owner. Giving him one star is too much. read more
