I just went here for the first time. Which is amazing as apparently it's been here for 6 years less than a half mile from my house. Becky greeted me at the front with a big smile and was very easy on the eyes. I must say it was by far the best haircut + I have ever had . She was amazing and has great knowledge and skills. One of the worst haircuts ever. The stylist knows nothing about styling and only knows one cut. She didn't follow any of our requests and definitely wasn't capable of deviating from the one cut she knows. I deliberately asked NOT TO HAVE HER but got stuck with her anyway. DO NOT GO THERE unless you just want to get shaved. We will never go back!!! read more

Awesome, no-gimmick hair salon/barber for men. Menu options include scissor cut, shave cut, beard/face shave, shampoo, etc. Had my first visit yesterday and I'm impressed. Got a haircut and shampoo & was in and out in 20 minutes. Wife actually complimented my new Doo' so I guess I have a new place and stylist. I walked in this place last night after work, the grooming was out of control so I decided to treat myself to the works. Head shave, face shave, beard trim, the works basically. Well, there was two stylists working, only one of them had a client. The young lady at the counter looked me up in the system and asked if I had an appointment. Well, my job demands make it difficult to keep appointments, so when I said no she started to look concerned. When she asked what I wanted done, her response showed a look of disgust that I wanted to drop a $100 with tip in her salon. Take your money elsewhere, find a V's...find a country clipper...find anywhere because they really don't know how to make a customer feel welcome. read more

They did a good job and my stylist took her time with it. The only reason it's for stars is I was told it was $12 over the phone and it turned out being 15 which wasn't a huge deal. Veronica is awesome at making my hair look great. I have seen her twice and am so impressed with her knowledge and understanding of the shape of my face and how my hair is going to behave. Not just giving a generic hair cut. She is also really positive and fun to talk to. Also pretty much everyone I have talked to since getting my hair cut earlier today has mentioned how great it looks and probably everyone I know made a point to say the same last time she cut it. I have been coming to this Men's Ultimate Grooming location about once or twice a month for two years now and never want to go anywhere else. Becky and Rachel are by far my favorite stylists to book appointments with. I have never had a bad haircut, shave, facial treatment or any other services that is offered at this location by these two ladies. The atmosphere is always friendly and always puts me at ease. If you're into conversation during your visit you won't be disapointed, and if you aren't up for chat on the day you come in they won't make you feel awkward about that either. I just don't have enough good things to say about MUG. If you're tired of the same old mediocre service at your local chain haircutter or feel pandered to by "sporting" haircut locations come check this place out. So ,it's been a bit since my last review. I've had a constant person cutting my hair Dani. It's been great no complaints for two years. Unfortunately she's no longer a constant as she has moved on to bigger and better things. I made an appointment for a haircut 9:30 and I showed up 2 minutes early. There was a walk in that came in just ahead of me and he was taken back for a hair cut I wasn't even acknowledged!!! I walked out, and will never return I headed to another shop, and I will see how it goes at least they said hi when I walked in great start! I'm giving two stars only because the person called, however 45 minutes later I guess better late than never!! Perhaps good customer service is a dying thing, but it's the most important thing when you're in the people business it's how business grows novel concept I know?!! read more

I usually go to the Gilbert and McQueen road location which is always a relaxing experience and I can always count on leaving with a great haircut. I've found the same experience throughout various locations when I'm on opposite sides of town. Definitely recommend this place for a consistent and quality haircut! read more

What would have been a 5 star review several months ago is sadly now a 1 star review. I was very happy with my first several experiences at Mugs, so much so that I returned after my first poor experience, but the last 2 have been so awful that I will no longer be returning. My haircut, a skin fade, is not a difficult or complicated one by any means. On my last visit she did such a horribly uneven job that after asking her to fix it twice and it only getting worse that I just told her to stop. Even after this experience I gave Mugs one more chance hoping that I would get the haircut that I had been accustomed to prior. I returned this morning and politely notified the owner, who checked me in, that I would like someone other than the lady that cut my hair last time. Little did know that it was possible for her to actually give me someone worse. She seemed to be completely incompetent at her chosen profession, not knowing how or what equipment to use to complete my requested haircut. After explaining to her exactly what I wanted she still did not do exactly as I asked, left out several steps that are usually included, tried to wipe my face with a towel covered in shaving cream, and gave me another uneven cut. The owners lack of attention or concern for my dissatisfaction has only proven that my decision to not return is the correct one. read more

First time visit to this place and I am not pleased at all. Service is below average and stylist didn't have a steady hand. Stylist suggested I get something done and she couldn't get it right, I had to stop her from further ruining my hair. The haircut was horrible and I wouldn't go back there. IMHO I have gotten better haircuts at Great Clips. I greatly advise not to go. If I could have I would have not done any stars. read more

I went in there on a Monday morning at 9:30 without an appointment and thought they were closed. There was just one girl working there who made me wait 5 minutes because she had to get her station ready. This was my first time going there and it was excited because the girl (Heather) had a tattoo of scissors and a comb other forearm. I figured anyone who marks there body for life with scissors and a comb must know hair cutting is their calling in life and I'm in for a great haircut. Aside from asking how my day was and what I wanted done to my hair, she didn't say a word to me. No one else was in the shop and it was very awkward. I've never had my haircut by anyone who was so silent. I think I shocked her that I didn't want a buzz cut because she seemed like she didn't know what she was doing with the scissors. She acted like it was her first time cutting hair. Then when she shaved the back of my neck with the straight edge razor, she shaved little spots at a time instead of shaving one long section at a time like a barber does. I was waiting for a camera crew to come out and say this was a joke and I was on tv that's how bizarre this was. When I got home I saw that she left pieces of hair covering my ears and missed spots on the sides. Who tattoos scissors and comb on their arm if they don't know how to use them?! I felt duped and won't go back to this shop again. read more
