Almost forgot about this hidden gem until I needed a place in West Sac to meet a friend for brunch. Still as cute as when I first tried it 3 years ago but a lot less crowded on a Saturday morning. Plus side is now you can park in the dirk lot across the street at the "park" for free. Service was friendly but not over the top bubbliness. The prices on the coffee drinks are very reasonable given the atmosphere. Had the Croque Madame, simple but delicious. They serve coffee in the daytime and wine in the evenings. It was a great low key place to have breakfast and chat with a friend. I'll have to return soon. read more

Cinnamon Roll Croissants are so delicious! Very balanced, not too sweet, it's perfectly moistened with flaky croissant layers. Preferred more sauce, asked for a side. I had a nice afternoon off in Sacramento and needed a quiet place to relax my afternoon "suds " pit stop at the Barn. I had seen this place and needed a quick Caffeine boost. I slid in and ordered an iced Latte from the Barista/ Bartender. It had a quite few people Eating and drinking there on an early Friday afternoon. The Wine-bar seemed inviting and very cozy. Franquette was a nice surprise for brunch on our Saturday morning! While on our way to a different restaurant, we were hit by marathon runner traffic and decided to go the other way which took us to Franquette. Franquette is located in West Sacramento near the Sutter Health Park and across from Drake's Brewery. Parking is on the street so that might be an issue depending on how busy the surrounding area is. The inside is on the small side, but there is counter seating as well as patio seating. Interior was nice and modern, but still felt inviting. Bathrooms were also very clean! We ordered the Blueberry Crumble Croissant, Croque Madame, Salmon Tartine and French Toast. I also ordered a Butterscotch Cold Brew from their seasonal menu. Everything was fantastic - truly took all of us by surprise! While everything was great, we really loved the Croque Madame - it was perfectly cooked and seasoned! The coffee was strong and not too sweet - just the way I like it! I almost ordered another one so I could take it for the drive home! Staff were friendly and hustling with the long line that never seemed to end. Overall, I cannot say enough good things about Franquette other than I'm kicking myself for not visiting sooner! Growing area of West Sacramento in the Bridge District quite near the River Cats Stadium is a French inspired wine bar and restaurant. Small in statue but large on service and flavor. Inside or outside seating water bowl for your pup. We chose spinach and frisée salad (pork belly included) and a cheese square on focaccia (pizza slice) oh so good. Franquette is bright and beautiful on the inside, has table/booth and bar seating inside and outdoor table seating. They have various food options including quiche, ratatouille, baked goods, pastries, coffee, tea, and alcoholic beverages like wine and beer. I ordered their seasonal butterscotch latte and quiche Lorraine. My friend got the butterscotch cold brew and baked ratatouille. Both of our meals were absolutely delicious! My quiche was perfectly baked, savory, with a delicious crust. My latte was the right amount of sweetness. My friend also enjoyed her drink and meal. On a weekend morning, Franquette in West Sac was extremely busy and seating was scarce. It seemed to be all paid street parking around from what I could tell. I ordered the following: Seasonal Galette, Quiche Lorainne, Walnut Croissant, and a Latte. I thought all the food items I tried were just good to average...I've for sure had better at other bakeries, which was disappointing since I came in with high hopes. I requested two of the items as to-go the counter where I ordered, but the items were brought to my table on a plate and I had remind them. (No big deal.) Service was nice overall. You pick up your drink at the counter, but they'll bring out any food items to your table. There's an area by the trash on the inside to clear your dishes. Stopped by here for breakfast at the recommendation of a friend. I was immediately disappointed by the menu. It did not look like it would really fill the emptiness that was in my stomach. The bread they used on the ham and cheese sandwich was really tasty and it really made the sandwich. The croissant I got ....the walnut croissant super tasty and probably one of the better croissants I've had in a while. The ratatouille which I didn't think would be a good for breakfast was super tasty. Super rich, but really nice. What I didn't like: it is straight up criminal that the two slices of bread were extra with that ratatouille. you absolutely need that for dipping. Go ahead and include it in the price, but there is no way in hell that should be extra. Ham was only half warmed but that's OK... A divine French dive, us Indiana guys dropped in after not seeing working for another brunch spot we had decided on. What a win to end up here with exquisite quiche and croque monsieur breakfast entrees both making the salad and French toast dull and drastically underwhelming by compare. Can't believe we haven't been here sooner! What a cute little coffee shop and even more impressive food and drinks. This place wasn't really on my radar because it seemed like more of a wine bar. We decided to check out their coffee/breakfast in the morning and it did not disappoint! They are a little bit hidden in a residential building in West Sacramento. Great lighting in the morning and outdoor seating for when the weather gets warmer. They are right across from a dog park so we saw lots of pups outside and people walking in and around the neighborhood. The toasted pecan latte had the prettiest latte art. The tiramisu latte was my personal favorite, I finished it up so quickly! The Greek yogurt cold foam was the perfect addition to this drink. I thought it would be too tart but the generous amount of cocoa dusting was a nice balance to that tartness. Highly recommend checking out their food menu also, we loved the seasonal potato kale galette and the french onion soup! The galette pastry itself was super flaky and fresh. I loved the creamy potato and kale mixture inside. The french onion soup was so hearty and a very generous portion - perfect for two to share with another dish! It even has braised beef inside - all french onion soups should come with braised beef from now on! It was so comforting in the cold weather. The egg flavor was very strong so I would only recommend this dish if you really like eggs. The ham complimented the fluffy and barely cooked eggs well. We were told to order at the counter, asked about a few menu items that ended up being unavailable, and placed drink orders. No one mentioned that happy hour was about to start until later, which would have been helpful to know. We ended up sitting back at the bar waiting to order food during happy hour, but no one came over, acknowledged us, or let us know it had begun. There was little to no interaction overall, no check-ins, no small talk, no asking us if we wanted to order the food we talked about, and it honestly felt like we were an inconvenience being there. Honestly one of the stranger experiences I have encountered in a while. I was really looking forward to a refreshing drink and something good to eat, so the whole experience was a letdown. We were both honestly kind of appalled and left feeling disappointed. I love supporting local spots, but this was just so disappointing. Indoor seating was full, so we sat out on the patio under an umbrella -- it actually sprinkled rain so this was useful! We were too late for happy hour but each had a glass of sauvignon blanc and shared some small plates of quiche, cheese, and meat charcuterie boards. I have not been here in over a year and was excited to be back. With the A's moving to Sutter Health Park this cafe is getting ready for the crowd. When I enter the cafe around 10 o clock on a Friday morning, I was surprised that the cafe was packed. Luckily I found a seat at the bar. I ordered the chocolate croissant and a cappuccino. When both arrived, I was able to satisfy my craving, yet I felt like the cappuccino and croissant didn't do the job. The croissant was cold and wasn't flaky and the cappuccino was just average. The employee was nice though and checked on how I was doing. The service is outstanding can't complain about that, but felt the food and coffee quality went down. Hopefully this was just a miss for this visit, and the quality remains the same. Would be back though to give this place a second chance. Can't beat the environment. I just realized I've been to Franquette four times and still haven't left a review, how did that happen? I absolutely love this little spot. It's my go-to when I'm heading to a game at Sutter Health Park. The wine selection is fantastic, and the small bites hit the spot every time. They even have Happy Hour starting at 4pm! Bonus points for the cookies and croissants, they're always tempting. You order at the front, and they'll bring everything out to you. If you're not sure what to drink, don't hesitate to ask! I did that when I was torn between two wines, and the staff was super helpful with recommendations.
