I was immediately greeted when I entered by Emilio. He was super helpful and so very nice. It was really a pleasant experience, especially for this being my first time here. They usually hire young students to work the front and they've been super friendly. Pros: Their coffee crunch cake is a must. You need to order at least a couple days ahead. RIP to a great affordable mocha place. As seen in my old picture, a large mocha was $3.60. Not bad too, pretty solid mocha compared to other joints in the city. Pandemic happened. Prices raised. No big deal. A large mocha was $4.50 for quite a bit. Same solid taste. Unfortunately, they've now raised the price of a large mocha to $5.75. I regret to report that my parents raised me to feel irked at significant price increases like that. They now have a similar price to other joints in town. If you're looking for a decadent cake though, this isn't it. It definitely will not make the the cut for best cake in terms of presentation/looks. They also do not write names on the cake. However, it is light/fluffy. If you're like me & my family and don't love 1/4 cake and 3/4 frosting, it's a great cake option if you like the flavor of coffee. It's a white cake with thin layers of frosting. A lot of the coffee flavor comes from a crunchy, candy coating on the top layer of the cake. Croissants here are good too! We drove from north Sac on a Saturday morning around 945am, and although there was a decent selection left, more than half of their flavors were gone. I didn't realize we had to pre-order the coffee crunch cake so that will be a must try next time. We got chocolate, almond, raspberry, and cheese and all were delicious. Soft, pillowy and buttery with the right amount of flakiness. I loved every bite. My favorite was the almond. Yes a lot of places make almond croissants, but this one is top tier.
