Unfortunately we were scammed! If you don't speak Spanish you might be getting taken advantage of by the workers. I shop here by myself and have never had problems but that may because I am Hispanic and speak Spanish. I sent my boyfriend(Asian and non Spanish speaking) in to buy 1 pound of pork chorizo which is $4.99. When he came back he said "I think Juan finessed me" he said that when they were ringing him up he tried to speak up and say he thought chorizo was only $4.99/lb and they told him No this is correct. well my boyfriend knows the difference between chorizo and chicharron so he knew they were scamming him for double the price and he didn't want to create a bigger issue and just paid. Unfortunately we won't be shopping here anymore because of their dishonesty :(. So beware if you don't speak Spanish because they'll get you

now that is what you call a good and yummy SUPER NACHO! 2.. maybe 3x the size of my head!

My all time favorite Mexican spot! Their super nachos and burritos are delicious! Along with their tacos, I like red meat so I always get carne asada/steak. My sister got a chicken super burrito and that was really good too!! Dont forget to ask for Salsa Verde (medium/green salsa) on the side because their salsa verde is so good! & Don't forget to try their Mexican Popsicles, loved those every since I was a kid! I used to buy them when a Spanish man would ring his bell down the street with his bike and small little freezer! Authentic mexican food!its hard to find one, but if you come here you'll tummy will be very satisfied. xoxo Chelsie

    Carnitas & Pastor Sopes

Toledo's is a little Carniceria & Taqueria located in a small strip mall in the Arden-Arcade area. When you enter, you'll find the counter for the Taqueria immediately on the right, the fresh meats counter straight back and the grocery store to the left. At the Taqueria counter, you'll find a menu of mostly numbered combos with pictures of each plate on the wall. What's oddly missing is pricing. So, if you speak Spanish, you'll need to ask. No se habla inglés...at least on my visit. I decided to try the Sopes and ordered one Carnitas and one Pastor ($2.99 each). If you're not familiar with Sopes, you should give them a try! The base looks like an unusually thick round Tortilla, but it's actually made from fried Masa. It's thick with pinched-up sides to hold all the toppings. At Toledo's, they start with the traditional refried bean base, followed by your meat of choice, shredded lettuce, crema, red sauce & queso de cotija. While waiting, I noticed some terrific looking Chicharrón above the meat counter so I know what I'll be getting the next time I visit. There is a small dine-in area squeezed into the market, but don't plan on getting a table with a larger group. There are also a few tables outside the market. One flatscreen, mounted above the red-pay-per-call phones to south of the border, was playing Fútbol. I'd hate to have to make a call during a big game! The Sopes arrived hot-hot-hot off the grill with generous toppings! It's a good thing I picked-up a cold can of Coconut-Pineapple Jumex from the drinks case! I preferred the Carnitas over than the Pastor as the Pastor was a bit on the fatty side. They both had good flavor, however, and made for a satisfying meal. Overall, Toledo makes a great choice for Mexican food in the Arden-Arcade area!

First time here. Wanted to purchase birria tacos on the menu, but they do not have them. Driven past this place many times wanted to try the empanadas and pupusas. Empanadas were no where to be found. Got 2 carnitas tacos, were supposed to be 10% off all tacos every Tuesday per their advertising on the outside of the store, but they were not 10% off on Tuesday! Got 2 pupusas, one bean and cheese, and one cheese and loroco. They were ok, not the best in Sacramento as advertised by others. Took forever to get the food. Fyi... if you do not pay with cash there is a 79€ fee for card.

    Ooooo, the pan!

Being new to SAC, I was looking for the real desk in Mexican food... Well, I found it! Friendly quick service I heart their chicken enchiladas... Tastey red sauce with fresh frijoles and arroz and sliced maters and avocado. Their "street tacos" are excellent as well. For groceries? Well, everything from chichironnis to fresh quest and meat behind the counter. Fresh Mexican baked goods... Even mucho Mexican candies. They have a great mix of everything for a small grocer. Soooo, pick up some groceries when in the area (or coming from 24 Hr Fitness across the street) and don't forget to pick up lunch or dinner in the way out!

My friend and I were looking for tacos in the Arden area and Toledo's market came up on Yelp. It said Toledo's had a grocery store, hot meals and a bakery. Of course we had to check it out. Toledo's is located in a shopping center. The ordering area for hot food is in front of the store so its not hard to miss. The menu on the wall was extensive ranging from enchiladas, tacos, burrito, mole platters and more. I wish they had prices listed next to each menu item. I ended up ordering their carne asada supreme burrito for about $8, which included sour cream, guacamole and cheese. It was a large sized burrito and easily could be lunch AND dinner for one person. They do not have soda fountains, but you can pick up cold bottled drinks in the refrigerator cases. They do have a small dining area in the middle of the store with a TV or you could sit at the counter if you wanted to "dine-in". The grocery area was well stocked and clean. There is a bakery towards the back of the store which showcased delicious looking desserts including custard flan, gelatin cups and baked goods. The meat display is very impressive as the meat is well sliced and organized. If I wasn't there just for lunch, I probably would've picked up some groceries for later. I will definitely go back to try the some of their other dishes!

The sisig chicken was equally impressive, packed with flavor from the Asian marinade and finished with a delicious smoky char. Nox Barbeque truly gets it right. As an Asian American, I've always believed barbecue should come with rice, and I've never really connected with traditional coleslaw. Nox absolutely nailed the balance with their light Asian style slaw and perfectly seasoned rice. It felt both comforting and thoughtfully done. Thank you for creating a barbecue experience that feels both elevated and familiar.

I used to work in the area and I happened to see a flag that said "Caribean". My eyes lit up…read morebecause I am of Puerto Rican descent and anything Caribean I will support. Being in Northern California you won't find too many Caribean spots unless it's Jamaican(I love as well). I decided to stop by at lunch time one day and made an online order of just Yellow Rice and Pigeon Peas, Plantains. When I got there the food was ready and I noticed they had Goya sodas. I am not big on soda but I haven't had one in months so I grabbed it. First off let me say the rice was amazing, soft and flavorful. The name Yellow Rice and Pigeon Peas is the same as Arroz con Gandules which is a Puerto Rican staple. The only difference is ours is more Orange due to the Sazon seasoning. The Yellow Rice was still similar and really good. Paintains were fried perfect, really crisp on the edges which I like. Some places leave them soft or too thick which makes it taste doughy! The second time I went I got the rice and plantains but also the Chicken stew and Mac n Cheese. The Chicken stew had a bold taste, not really spicy and you taste the flavor immediately. It was cooked well and chicken was moist, the stew sauce just made it better. The Mac was probably the only dish that was "Okay". This is likely due to my preference for Southern Mac. This Mac was a tad bit runny with cheese and it had a heat to it like Jalapeno Mac. I got the homemade lemonade for my drink, this was different, not bad but again probably due to my preference of Lemonade. It had a sweet kind of Tampico finish lol. I'm used to the sour then sweet finish I guess but it was still decent. Service was exceptional, food came out quick and hot! 4.5 stars would be my rating but I'm not going to give them 4 stars over lemonade and Mac because I still liked both. 4 stars would be a disservice. I noticed that they only had 1 other customer both times I arrived. This place is way too much to not be busy. Maybe it's the location and lack or banner but I drove by recently and I believe there is a new overhead that says "Caribean Fire Grille".... Please support them.

Ordered plate that came w/ plantain, yam, pork, spicy cabbage (this was bomb with the spinach n okra dish). Also got an empanada which was huge and delicious. It had hardboiled egg and sausage perfectly flavored. The dough wasn't sweet which I liked. It took 10-12 mins to cook as the dough was made fresh. Worth the wait and plan to get again. My kid enjoyed my leftovers too. It is only $9 (listed under appetizer) but honestly large enough for a lunch meal if trying to save $. Wish I took a pic before devouring it! Very welcoming srrvice too.
