    Tacos de Pescado

Food is really well made. I was in a rush and ordered the tacos de pescado and had some guac & chips. The tacos were so flavorful, a generous amount fish with the sauce & slaw having just the right amount of crunch and creaminess. Flour tortilla is also quite thin making it quite a light but satisfying meal. Other restaurants often smother the fish in heavy sauce but Mercado strikes the balance just right. Their chips & guac were amazing! Both were freshly made (chips were still warm). Price is reasonable for the quality you get.

Stopped at this beautiful spot from a recommendation. Theres street parking. I had the grapefruit margarita which was good, very refreshing... as you can see in the picture I devoured the tropical ceviche before taking the picture. I highly recommend it. Fish tacos were light and had the right amount of crisp. The shrimp were in a delicious buttery sauce. I wasn't the biggest fan of the rice. It came with a what I describes the succotash vegetable melody.. The bread that came with it was divine. I think it was a focaccia crispy on the top lighting area on the inside with maybe a garlic butter finish. Service was fast and efficient. I don't come out to Pasadena often but I hear there's another location closer to my home.. I'll have to check that one out too.

My first time and it was lovely! We sat outside on a Sunday evening for dinner with a party of 6. Gianni was our server and he was very kind, helpful, patient and accommodating. The chicken enchiladas were delicious, light and the green sauce was YUM!!! The guacamole was amazing. The queso was really good, very tasty. They told us they didn't have any churros BUT they did have churro ice cream so it happened to be around the time of preparing them so they served us churros anyways!!! Gianni was soooo nice. Bathroom was clean and large. Parking is a lot... around the streets or in the parking lot in the back.

Always a Five Star experience here. You have to love how they consistently offer creative specials. Of course the food is always fresh and great tasting. Today our server suggested a beef rib special (bar b cued). Wow. So amazing a tasty. I do hope that this becomes a staple! To me Mercado is such a Pasadena treasure and a fantastic place to get " upscale " Mexican dishes and smooth cocktails.

My friend and I came here to have dinner. We got the guac, tacos, and carnitas plate. The guac was great and the chips were freshly made! However, the carnitas were overly salty luckily the cauliflower , salsa, and guac helped lessen the salty taste. The food overall was ok.

Love their fish tacos and the best guacamole ever! Their ceviche verde is on point! Also best blackberry lime mojito mocktails around!

I was in Pasadena for an event and was looking for something to eat close to my hotel and I stumbled upon this restaurant. We sat at the bar, the restaurant wasn't busy at the time we went in. So it was nice and quiet and we had good service. The bar is small and cute, they do have seating outside and inside. It's not a super big place. I liked how attentive the bartender was. The food was delicious, my mom cleaned her whole plate and said it was the best chile relleno she's ever had. I enjoyed my enchiladas and my margaritas. It is a more high end place with some traditional Mexican cuisine and style. I loved the flavors, I loved how they press fresh fruits to make their cocktails. The bartender did say they have happy hour Friday evening if we wanted to come back. I would've loved to, maybe next time we come into town we'll stop in. Thank you for having great food, and service.

I loved Mercado! We had a group of 20 last minute for a lunch meeting, and they were not only able to accommodate, but also provided the best service! We had a fixed menu (because of our party size) that included appetizer, entree, and dessert. The guac, chips, and salsa was great, but the fish tacos I had were amazing!! A little spicy, a ton of flavor. We had flan and tres leche for dessert. Absolutely delicious and I look forward to trying more menu items on another trip.

This place has good food and great drinks. We've been here before as we waited for our sugar fish table and their bar service was great. This time we decided to eat a full meal here, and we were pleasantly surprised with their options. They offered a pre fix menu with chips and guac, tacos and dessert, so one of us ordered the filet mignon and the other ordered from their main menu a Chile relleno. The guac appetizer was very small and you can't customize it, the taco meat was tasty and well seasoned. The chile relleno sat in a bed of green salsa with corn an other vegetables which was different and it gave this dish a different taste. Will definitely come back and try other options from their main menu.

Everytime I come we at least get the pulpo dish & mushroom choruses! Definitely my favorite menu items. On this occcasion we got the plater and added the pulpo and this can definitely feed at least 4 -5people. The menu states it's for 2-3 but honestly it can feed much more. Totally worth it!

Sunday evening team dinner. Had heard a lot about Mercado - pricey, overrated, etc - all wrong. Delicious. But pricey - but it's S Lake Ave. what do you expect? Rents high. Our waiter Gianni's is amazing! Give that guy a raise. The guacamole had onions so I had to pass, and the entire table ate onions and I didn't - so didn't try it. However, the chips and salsa were delicious. The mushroom queso dip is divine. Delicious. Creamy. Addictive. Must order it. I ordered the fillet mignon tacos - they were flattened steak - I'd prefer chopped. Would give the taco more texture. No accompanying sauce - so used the salsa - very good. The avocado was too thick. The mashed potato's were forgettable. I get it - mashed potato's in a Mexican restaurant. But why not add a fusion gravy? Flan for dessert was out of this world. Churros were slightly undercooked. A solid Mexican spot in Pasadena. Would like to try more food options.

    Cheers

We had an amazing dinner with our daughter. Melissa was our waitress and she was very nice and efficient and professional. Location is great and we love sitting outside in the patio. Food was absolutely delicious & fresh my had the filet mignon taco omg it melts in your mouth and I had swordfish tacos and my husband had shrimp tacos

I ordered the enchiladas and elote. The enchiladas and corn were ok, not anything mind blowing. The flavors were a bit light and could've used a bit more seasoning. The corn was a bit overcooked as the kernels were a bit difficult to chew and weren't juicy. They are a bit overpriced and if you're looking to splurge on mediocre food, I would say this is the place to. Service on the other hand, was excellent. The servers were kind and attentive. The restaurant had a lounge/night bar vibe to it. There is indoor and outdoor seating. You can find paid street parking, park in a paid lot for $5, or if you drive a little further up you can find free street parking. I don't think I would come back here for overpriced Mexican food.

First off, I have to praise 1933 group because I have loved every single bar they have revitalized and this one is no different. In keeping with their MO, The Lucky Tiki is a speakeasy with a vintage vibe. I won't give away how to get in but let's just say, it's near the front of Highland Park Bowl. My husband and I didn't have a reservation, but we were able to put our name in and got seated about an hour or so later. I was amazed as soon as I walked in the door! It's just floor to ceiling decorated with everything tiki. So many fun details and even interactive elements that turn on when a particular drink was ordered. That was probably my favorite part honestly. We ordered the Tiki Diablo, which is a large tiki drink with a flaming volcano. And yes it does have an interactive element. It was really good. Very fruity and strong, but not overly so. Service was excellent. Our waitress was on it and even waited to make sure my husband was back from the bathroom before lighting our drink on fire. We didn't try any food this time, but a lot of people were ordering the Hawaiian pizza. Do with that what you may. Will definitely be back ti try more drinks and food. Was the perfect spot for a lively date night!

I'm a second-generation Irish-American from New York, and St. Patrick's Day has always meant something in my family. Growing up it was about heritage, family, and a little joy. Now that I have two daughters of my own -- very Irish-looking girls who are proud of their roots -- I wanted them to experience some of that same Irish pub spirit. So on St. Patrick's Day 2025, I took them to Griffin's of Kinsale in South Pasadena. They were so excited to be there -- the decorations, the music, the feeling of a real Irish pub. For a moment I thought, this is going to be a great memory for them. We came early because it was a school night. The restaurant was busy -- which is understandable on St. Patrick's Day. I ordered three salmon dinners for my daughters and myself. The bill came to about $150. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. Over an hour and a half. During that entire time: * No one warned us the kitchen was backed up when we ordered. * No one checked on our table. * No updates. * No communication at all. Had someone simply said "Just so you know, food may take an hour or more tonight," I could have made a different decision -- especially with two kids who had school the next morning. Instead we sat downstairs watching the clock while the evening disappeared. By the end of the night my daughters -- who had been so excited walking in -- were tired, hungry, and miserable. When I asked to speak with a manager, no one came. No explanation. No apology. Restaurants get slammed on holidays. Kitchens fall behind. That happens. But ignoring a table for 90 minutes -- especially a family with children -- isn't a busy night. It's bad management. What should have been a fun St. Patrick's Day memory for my daughters turned into a long, uncomfortable evening where we felt completely invisible. For a place that trades so heavily on Irish identity and hospitality, this was about as far from hospitality as you can get. Save your $150 and celebrate St. Patrick's Day somewhere that actually wants you there. And if management would like to explain how a family ends up waiting 90 minutes with no communication, I'd genuinely be interested to hear it.

Grandma's Purse, which features miso-infused Suntory, butterscotch, and 5 spice, was surprisingly savory and not sweet. On the other hand, Wabbit Season, which features carrot, cumin and celery among its ingredients, was surprisingly sweet. Go figure. I enjoyed the novelty of those drinks but I probably would not get them again. I would be interested in trying out some of their other cocktails though.

As a I grew up in Highland Park I took my wife to visit The Arroyo Club bar to celebrate her recent promotion after the bar was recommended to us by a close friend. We were looking forward to a fun evening and decided to participate in the trivia game being hosted that night. After receiving an answer sheet from the host, Matt, my wife and I began playing. The trivia topic was based on an older television show that we were unfamiliar with, and we initially used our phones to look up answers. A male individual approached us and informed us that using our phones was considered cheating. We accepted that explanation, stopped using our phones, and continued playing. Later in the evening, I observed bartender Justin speaking with the same individual and appearing to provide him with answers. When I questioned how that was different from what we had been told not to do, Justin stated that it was not cheating because they were part of a group. I responded that it was only a game and not a serious issue, especially considering my wife and I had only accumulated a few points. At that point, the interaction became uncomfortable. Justin informed the host that my wife and I should be disqualified for cheating, despite the fact that we had stopped using our phones when instructed. The employee who had originally confronted us also became increasingly confrontational, which my wife and I found intimidating. I later asked another bartender, Zach, what the concern was, and he explained that the winning prize was $50. While I understand the importance of maintaining fair rules, the way the situation was handled felt unnecessarily hostile and embarrassing. What made the experience even more disappointing was that we appeared to be the only minority guests present at the time, and we observed other patrons using their phones without being confronted. This left us feeling singled out and unwelcome. My wife attempted to discuss how the situation made us feel with a female bartender who had blue hair. Unfortunately, her reaction appeared dismissive, and our concerns did not seem to be taken seriously. As we prepared to leave, the employee who had initially confronted us remained nearby staring in our direction, which further contributed to our discomfort. For reference, we were seated at the right corner of the bar if you were facing the bar from the front. I am not seeking compensation. Rather, I hope management will review the events of that evening, including any available security footage and discussions with staff members present. No guest should leave feeling targeted, embarrassed, or unwelcome while simply trying to enjoy a night out celebrating a special occasion.

Had a dinner reservation with some girlfriends celebrating two of their birthdays. The restaurant itself isn't too big but it does a pack a nice punch. Cute patio out front that takes some of the sidewalks and streets. Plenty of heat lamps which helped with the chilly nights. We got seated at one of the tables on the patios which was nice. Didn't really utilize inside area except for the restroom which it's quite cute in there. The rooms were pretty well decorated and executed. Nice bar area too. Like mentioned, we got seated on the patio and the heat lamps were great. Down to the menus, it's quite limited on dishes. Seemed like there were more shared plates versus the entrees. Drinks, it was fairly decent with their cocktails and wine. Service at the beginning was great. The staff were amazing and very friendly. We didn't order right away as we were still waiting for the last one to show. But did start off with some drinks. It didn't take that long for the first round which was nice. Food wise, the shared plate was a mixture of everything. Some of the olives, which is exactly what it is. The Belgian fries, nice thick cut fries with shredded pecorino cheese and a nice aioli sauce. We ended up getting a second order of it. The albacore tuna crudo was a hit which was really tasty. Chili ginger relish, mint and shallot, can't go wrong with that. Lastly the meatballs, tasty and very great for sharing. Entrees, the pan seared sea bass which I loved. Portion is pretty tiny which also seemed like they were a shared plate. Almost tapas styled. Nice chimichurri sauce and a side salad. The chicken Milanese also with a side salad of arugula. Simple dish but quite tasty. One of the salads that was somewhat hyped up by the waitress but it was just a salad. Decent but nothing major to rave about...lol... also the confit oyster mushrooms was major hit. Something that simple but quite tasty. And lastly the pan con tomate, rustic sourdough with tomatoes and burrata. Tasty as well. Overall the meal was good. From there, the second round of drinks did take a long time to arrive and with then plates that we shared, trying to get someone to clear the plates was another thing. Took a long for someone to clear the table before more items came. Even when the entrees came, all the empty starter plates were still there. And if someone did clear the plates, some was still left on the table. Finishing off the night, we did have the dessert which we tried all three. As it was two of our girlfriends birthday, they brought out a little bubbly for us to celebrate with the dessert. That was quite sweet and nice. Honestly opinion with the dessert, they were just ok. Nothing major to rave about. We tried all three on the menu and they were just ok. Overall, the food was great. Service was nice and the staffs were all very friendly. It did take a while for plates to get cleared from the table and second round did take a while, but it was manageable. It was a sweet gesture with the bubbly with the dessert which was greatly appreciated. The place is nice and great for catching up. Menu is limited and portions are quite small. You would have to get a good amount for sharing. Entrees, depending on what you order is small as well. But we enjoyed ourself.

Would it kill them to add a veggie burger? Service is consistently awful. I've been here half a dozen times and I've never had good service. Drinks and water are never refilled unless I ask. It takes forever to get our order and once we do our server disappears. Seriously so bad. But I keep coming back for their good food.

Because this is a hotel bar since it's situated in The Langham 5-star luxury hotel, the drinks are expensive like $25 starting. One of my friends got a lemon-based mocktail (pretty good) and I got Cosmopolitan-type cocktail with Prosecco (pretty solid and not overly sweet, just not one of the best cocktails I tried). Another friend ordered Negroni, which is a potent cocktail with a bitter sharp, dry aftertaste. I could hardly taste any hint of sweetness in the drink. My friend thought it was too bitter, too. Honestly, for me it tastes just as bitter as a Manhattan, probably because both cocktails incorporate sweet vermouth. 3 stars for the poor customer service and wait time for standing in line to order drinks. There were 2 or 3 bartenders and they were rushing but also seemed like they weren't efficiently helping customers with drinks in a timely manner. The lounge area was meh (super limited seat spots) and the vibes were bland despite coming here on New Year's Eve. Definitely an older demographic that frequents this bar, not that it's a bad thing, just not our vibe since it would've been more fun if there other people closer to our age, so we decided to bar hop elsewhere after.

We sat inside the restaurant but you can also reserve outdoor seating. The staff was very welcoming and too the time to explain the menu to us. Their dishes are shareable and I suggest about 4-5 dishes for a party of three. Off their menu we ordered the fried calamari, the buttermilk biscuits, yellow fin tuna tartare, the fideos clams and the barbecue chicken. Everything was delicious but our favorite was the buttermilk biscuits! Please keep in mind that the biscuits take about 20 minutes to make so please order in advance. Overall the food and ambiance were delightful and I can't wait to go back! For parking, there is street parking around the area but may be difficult since there are quite a few restaurants around sharing rhe space. There is a public parking structure down Meridian street, near heirloom bakery. We went on the weekend and the parking structure was free to park.

The way we were greeted and shown to our seats, you would have thought we were VIPs. Everyone was so friendly to us, and made us feel extremely welcomed. I truly think that every staff member we walked by from the door to our bar seats said hello and welcomed us to the restaurant. I don't know how to describe the level of service other than it was Masterclass. Special thank you to Wolf, our bartender/server a the upstairs bar. Yes his name is Wolf, and he's just as awesome as his name. So friendly and attentive. As for food, Wolf recommended we try the biscuits and I'm so glad he did because it was not something that I would have ordered had it not been for him. Literally the best biscuits I've ever had in my entire life. There is no other biscuit that comes close. It's exactly as it is described on the menu... flaky and buttery. It's an experience, truly. Even if biscuits were not what you thought you were going to order, just get them anyways. You have to try them. Just do it. GET THE BISCUITS! Other than the biscuits, we got the following: Calamari - some of the best I've had in awhile. Crunchy and crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Cooked perfectly. Hanger Steak - I didn't specify the doneness but it came rare which was perfect for me. The steak was great, I enjoyed every bite, but the mashed potatoes were EPIC lol. Burger & Fries - The fries in particular were amazing. HUGE portion, very crispy, and well seasoned. As for the burger, I liked the simplicity of it. However, I think it was way over cooked. I personally like my burgers to be a bit more juicy and medium doneness. The Bill - beware of the 4% surcharge. I don't really understand these things. Just price the food how you want to price it rather than adding a 4% surcharge to the final bill. Also, their suggested tip is calculated using the Total including tax rather than the subtotal. So basically you're tipping the tax lol. So aside from the bill and a little underwhelming burger everything else was absolutely incredible.
