4/6/26 This has been a place I have been coming since I was a kid with my Parents and & Grandma and Grandpa. They know us very well. The service was great , Armando A was our server and he was excellent. We sat outside on a beautiful sunny Cali day. It was so nice out . Everyone enjoyed their food . I had a Bloody Mary to start which was delicious. I had the Stephen's chicken sandwich no mushrooms for me but was delicious. We had a good time with my Mom & Dad . Great outdoor atmosphere, very chill place , great food . Will be back again I'm sure next visit. Enjoy !!!!

I came to GSR with two colleagues and we had a wonderful time. We made a reservation in advance for lunchtime and were quickly seated upon arrival. The salads here are huge! We each got a salad and def couldn't finish them. I got the Cornucopia without blue cheese and thought it was excellent. However, my friend got the Dianne and I have to admit that was much tastier! Again, the salad portions are huge so be prepared to take some home or, better yet, share it with a friend. The zucchini bread is also very good. It's dense but moist. It comes w butter but I think it's great on its own without butter. I hope to come back again to try something else! My friends love the breakfast menu so maybe I'll try that next time. There is parking in the paid garage attached to the restaurant.

Big, spacious restaurant with lots of indoor seating. Make sure you make reservations, it gets busy on the weekend. Their famous zucchini bread was so good, not too sweet, moist & even better with butter. Their most famous dish is the steak & diane salad. I got it medium rare, tasted good even without sauce & the diane salad never disappoints. My husband enjoyed his all American burger with fries & my kids enjoyed the shrimp pasta & chicken pasta. All the dishes had generous portions, we were very full. You can park for free on Shoppers Lane/Cordova behind Jamba/Panda/Chipotle.

Food was delicious and they gave us plenty. Service was great, although it was a big group, our server made sure we're taken care of. The ambiance was nice and clean.

    Bug in Green Street Salad

BARF! We ordered the Diane Salad and the Arroyo salad to go, got 1/2 way through my salad and there was a BUG in it. I almost ate it because it looked like a black bean. It was some sort of black beetle. Whatever it was it was GROSS. It's sad because we used to go to Green Street like 10 years ago and thought we'd try it again. Needless to say, this will be my last trip to Green Street. No one wants to find a bug in their half eaten salad. Sad.

The food was mostly good and portions are generous. My pork chop was flavorful, and the zucchini bread was outstanding. However, there were multiple issues with my friend's hamburger. They never asked how he wanted it cooked, and it arrived rare. He requested crispy fries, but they were regular and had to be sent back. When the burger was returned more cooked, despite asking for no mayo, it came back with mayo again. He ended up not eating the burger and just had some of his wife's salad. Service was okay, but there were too many mistakes. The restroom was also dirty. I informed a staff member, but it was not properly cleaned. Good food potential, but attention to detail and cleanliness need improvement.

This was my second time visiting Green St. In six years. Both times we sat outside on busy Shoppers Ln. with mature planter box plants sheltering us from the street. While the Diane Salad was pretty much lettuce, almonds, sesame seeds, chicken, and fried/puffed rice noodles, it was all brought together with their Diane Salad, salad dressing. $22.50 for a large, which in 3 days you will never be able to finish so don't order that huge amount. Server very nice but never came back to check on us.

My mom always goes and buys zucchini bread for me. But this time I was biting a piece of it and I almost broke off a tooth idk what this is but maybe hard dough or something ??? I know stuff happens and accidents but thank god I didn't brake a tooth. Idk what it is but might want to becareful guys! But either than this little hiccup I still love their zucchini bread.

Great service, hearty breakfast and a nice indoor/outdoor seating area. I stopped by this spot for an early morning meeting after I finished my workout across the street. The food was pretty good and the coffee was decent. There isn't a lot of variety here with most breakfast having the same things but the lunch and dinner menu had more to offer. Each breakfast comes with a zucchini bread instead of traditional toast but don't fret you can substitute it for toast if you wish. I had enough food leftover for another breakfast so come hungry!

Get the cornucopia salad with Dianne dressing instead (I'm a fan of dressing on the side)! The zucchini bread is unreal. I cannot believe how good it is every time. It's very fresh and the veggies are nice and crisp mmmm! Staff is always kind and helpful. Someone other than your waiter will come fill up your glass of water - attentive, I like it! It's a nice, quiet and calming environment. It's perfect for a family dinner, a catch up meal with a friend, or a date night! The outdoor seating is perfect. The prices seem a little high for a salad but they are GIANT and with the side of the zucchini bread, it's worth it.

Came here when visiting with a recommendation from family. The place has a great patio with lots of umbrellas/shaded options. Wonderful and attentive service. The Dianne salad was super tasty, would highly recommend. It's a very large portion, I was happy we got the lunch size. The salad comes with two slices of absolutely delicious zucchini bread! I took one slice home and it kept well. The adjacent parking garage machine was a little tricky, but you can also pay when you exit.

Ask the Community - Green Street Restaurant

Until what time is breakfast served?

    I believe 2pm

How do I order a Diane salad for A group?

Excellent choice! You can call them up for a pickup order. The salad comes with a few slices of the zucchini bread. Best to compliment the order with a full loaf. Hope I answered your question.

Does Green St still make a Stephen's omelette?

One of our top selling sandwiches is the Stephen Sandwich (Chicken breast/sauteed mushrooms/onions/avocado/sour cream/cheese on grilled sourdough). We don’t serve a Stephens Omelette but since we have all the ingredients one could order a custom…

Do they sell just the zucchini bread? Can I just walk in and pick up or do I need to order in advance?

I've walked in and made my order. I've ordered a beer and sat at the bar while I wait for my order. They also have a small shop where you can pick up a loaf of zucchini bread, take some beer to go or evet a shirt.

    Is there parking nearby?

Yes, a covered parking lot for all restaurants in the same area. No validations though.

Do they do bottomless mimosas for brunch?

We serve a great Mimosa but they are not bottomless.

    Is there curbside pick up?

Technically no from my recollection; however if there are openings alongside the front, you can parallel park along the curb and call them asking really cordially/nicely I think they will deliver to your car - as a parent with multiple kids it helps…

Do they take lunch reservations? Is there outdoor seating?

I can't answer if they take lunch reservations, but there is an outdoor protected area in front of the restaurant.

    Do you take dinner reservations?

    they do take reservations

What time do you open on Friday right now? I'm looking for a local (Pasadena) spot for a 1:1 breakfast meeting at 9:30am with a community partner.

Thanks for your inquiring. Unfortunately we don't open until 11:00 during the week (Monday-Friday). We open at 10:00 on Saturday & Sunday.

    Can I make reservations?

    Yes

Is there still outdoor seating at this restaurant?

No, outdoor seating is closed everywhere.

Do they allow pets in the patio?

Unfortunately, they do not allow pets in the patio.

How much is a whole loaf of zucchini bread to go?

I think $8 or $9...and worth every penny!

Food here is very safe, trite, hackneyed California cuisine beaten to death like a worn out horse. It's not really bad and not very good offending no one, but food that is boring and not particularly drop dead flavourful. I wasn't super hungry and decided to order more of the sides. 1) French Fries with some skin on, looking rustic, had a touch of that ineffable earthy potato flavour. Asked for extra crispy, but just got a bit crispy so their default fries must be rather limp. Standard ketchup in a steel ramekin. 2) Roasted Golden Beet & Arrugula Salad had sweet, softer, smooth texture, Arrugula had a fibrous, good green herbal, peanut oil scented flavour. Not too funky, creamy goat cheese. Roasted walnut halves. All napped with a subtle Champagne Vinaigrette. Portion was about half of what would be expected in other comparable restaurants. 3) Bread Pudding: The bread was spongy, moist, eggy almost like a flan but lacked a deeper dairy, milkiness as well as lack of hints of warm spices such as cinnamon, allspice, ginger, cloves. Bland would describe the general overall flavour. Topped with cream rich ice cream. Scattering of blueberry, blackberry, strawberry. At home, I drizzled on Grand Marnier for more citrus cognac aromatics. 1-3a) Iced Tea The food here seems to be the Midwest version of what California cuisine should be. Middle of the road, steady as she goes, don't rock the boat. Our waitress was efficient, helpful, thoughtful in a business-like manner which facilitated our group of 8. The male helper with a moustache and the inked hand was great at keeping our glasses topped off. 3 stars for a safe, not overly effusive food that does not offend. The outdoor optics holds the charm and strength of this restaurant.

We enjoyed the variety: oyster and trumpet mushrooms. The farmhouse beets were served with arugula, feta, candied pecans, and a lemon vinaigrette. These were nice starters. I ordered the poke bowl. The portion size was perfect for lunch. It contained tuna, soba noodles at the base, small cubes of mango & avocado, toasted coconut, red onion, basil, and sesame seeds. The ingredients were fresh and beautifully presented. The pasta alla vodka was slightly spicy. It consisted of "mezze maniche" or large tubular pasta, pungent pecorino cream, tomato, garlic, and shallots. It was topped with grated Parmesan cheese. This was a heavier entree. Each of us had one scoop of gelato. It was a nice finish to a pleasant Friday afternoon.

Choose one item from the following categories listed below for $65 pp, plus an add-on option for Wine Pairing $35: APPETIZER - Shrimp Cocktail (jumbo grilled shrimp with cocktail sauce and pico de gallo). - Tuna on Crispy Rice Cake (Ahi Tuna, diced avocado and a dash of Sriracha) - Corn Ribs (roasted corn on the cob with aioli, queso cotija and tahin) ENTREE - Lobster Salad (lobster tail perched on mixed greens with a honey tarragon dressing) - Steak Frites (Hangar steak and seasoned French fries) - Truffle Mushroom Tagliatelle (pasta with a creamy garlic sauce and parmigiana reggiano cheese). DESSERT - Peach Galette (pastry crust topped with sliced peaches, drizzled with plum sauce and a scoop of ice cream) - Fosselmans Ice Cream Scoop Our server was Jeanette, she was very helpful, friendly and engaging with our group. We had a lot of questions, lol. At Mike W's suggestion, we placed the cocktail order before the food. The cocktails are hand-crafted and take time to create. Amongst us, we ordered EVERY item on the menu. The lobster salad made a great presentation. It caught my eye for a future visit to the Raymond. The food was served in a timely manner, dishes were cleared to make room for the next course. The flow from the kitchen to our table was seamless. We had a nice outdoor table in the corner of the patio, it was a good evening to dine al fresco. I highly recommend this restaurant for quality food and good customer service. Sincerely, Rosemary

We had a reservation so we were seated right away on the second floor, just above the bar. The music was a little on the loud side so conversation was a little strained. The food was absolutely amazing. Our server was very friendly and informative but was not quite as attentive as we would expect for an establishment like this. This was our first time here, so we had to try the Asparagus Fries. The asparagus was cooked to perfection but the batter did not have much flavor. Members of our party ordered the California Salad, a Veggie Burger, the Meatloaf and a Picante Pizza. The California Salad was smaller than expected but delicious. The Veggie Burger was excellent! The Meatloaf was the hit of the table. It was so good that my wife did not offer a taste to any of us. She was in food Heaven. The pizza was exactly as described and tasted wonderful. Since we were celebrating my birthday, our server brought me a delicious piece of double chocolate cake with a candle in it. Nice touch!! We also had one of their Warm Butter Cake's with some excellent vanilla ice cream on top. Absolutely wonderful!. This may be our new "go-to" place. Looking forward to return to savor the other items on the menu. Their drinks looked delicious as well, so we will definitely try those too.

I also got the Ruma Latte, which was delicious--sweet & tasted like caramel in a cup. We shared the mochi pancake after seeing it recommended on TikTok! It's was good but not life changing. We went close to opening, so the atmosphere was peaceful & cozy. The staff was kind & welcoming, though we did have to ask a few times for our table to be cleared. Since the two-person tables are small, a bit more attentiveness would've made the experience even better. Overall, great food, cozy vibes, & I'd definitely come back!

Hubby & I had high expectations for dinner, but we were not impressed by the flavors. Many of the…read moredishes were lacking balance. Yang's fried chicken wings - this was a solid dish. Chicken was juicy. I usually don't eat chicken wings. Even after it got cold, the wings still tasted tender and not dry. Grilled Cabbage with Bagna Cauda - I do like a good cabbage dish, but the cabbage was under charred, way too greasy, & lacked acidity. After finishing the half portion of cabbage, it left an unpleasant after taste. Not a well balanced dish at all. Not my favorite dish. Maybe we should've gotten a simple salad instead. Dan Dan Campanelle - the dish came warm not hot. Good flavors and the Campanelle had a good chew, but not an exceptional dish. Hainan Fish Rice - I was so looking forward to this dish. The fish was cooked perfectly, but again lacking balance. The ginger oil is muted and purely decorative, lacking the sharp, sinus-clearing bite needed to wake up the dish. Without the bright, raw punch of ginger and chili, the dish tastes heavy and one-dimensional. I just wished there were more flavors and not just the taste of oil with each bite of fish and ginger. Good ingredients used, but just too heavy on the oil, too light on the aromatics. We didn't fully enjoy our meal as much as we would've liked. We might come back and try the brunch some day.

We ended up at Magnolia House for a late lunch/early dinner. They also serve breakfast/brunch only on weekends. Walked in around 4:30pm and we were greeted by Brian, one of the managers. Brian was the standout star of the whole experience! His energy was exceptional and he is such a great conversationalist. He checked on us several times throughout our meal and made sure we were doing well. He on his own was HANDS DOWN a five star human being. At first, he wanted to seat us in the back corner but I told him the table was too small and he accommodated us with a bigger table. Our server Kiana came up to the table with a pleasant smile and greeting to take our drink orders. I got a glass of cranberry juice along with some water. My son got the American Dream cocktail along with some water. We skipped on dessert. From 4-6pm, they have a happy hour menu with some of their cocktails and shareable plates. The portions are just a bit smaller and the prices are a little lower. It's a good way to sample different items. I think we got a good variety of food to enjoy. To start, we got the Little Gem Salad. It was such a unique combination of flavors and SUPER delicate/light. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The next starter was the Zucchini and Feta Fritters, which was good but not the best out of everything else we ordered. The zucchini was a bit mushy but the batter it was fried in was crispy. Another starter we shared were the Moroccan Spiced Chicken Wings. These wings are gigantic and very flavorful. They definitely pack some heat, so be careful. I don't think the A/C was NOT working to begin with, so the place was already hot. The wings made us sweat even more. For entrées, we got the burger and the pork belly. Brian said they are known for their burger and after taking the first bite, it's clear as to why. It was absolutely PERFRCTION. So delicious! The bun, the meat, the cheese, the onions, and the crispy bacon...all of it mixed together into the perfect burger. I had wanted to add some mushrooms and avocado to it, but Kiana said they were unable to do it. I also asked for lettuce and she said that would be an extra charge. What extra charge for lettuce? We still got charged for avocado when the bill came, but they took it off once we mentioned it. The pork belly was also very tender, flavorful, and crispy. It's just hard to compete with the burger! We also got an order of the Belgian Fries to share and we were both pleasantly surprised at how good they were. The fries are salty and cut pretty thick. The sauce that came on the side was so yummy. We asked for a small extra cup to-go. All in all, the food was great and we liked everything. The vibe of the restaurant wasn't really all that for me. Brian genuinely made up for anything that was lacking in the atmosphere. He is such a wonderful asset to the restaurant and their company. The restaurant itself has been here for about 15 years now and it used to be a very old house. You can tell when you look around. They did a good job with the renovations, but you can see the different areas/rooms. I think they tried to keep the casual comfort of a home, while making it a slightly elevated experience. It was very clean everywhere, especially the bathrooms. They have one gender neutral bathroom, one for men, and one for women. No private parking, so you'll have to park on the street and put money in the kiosk. They also had an outdoor seating. Pretty BIG, only took picture of one side. They also have 2 small TVs. In the bar area and inside their cute lounge. I normally like to try new places, especially when I'm in Pasadena, so I'm not sure if I'll come back here. Maybe if Brian is working, it would definitely be worth stopping by again! Thank you all..

Service is really really slow. You may see 5 or 6 waiters on staff...but they aren't stopping at tables to check up on guests. Alot of them are just hanging around the bar or front desk chitchatting with friends. The food quality dropped tremendously. It tastes like bland bar food now. $19 for 2 meatballs laying in tomato paste....and they were not even room temperature. Felt like they had these already prepared and sitting somewhere, just waiting for the next guest to order them. Got a mojito that may have been mistaken for a "virgin" drink....cause no one at our table could taste any alcohol in it. They all said it was watered down mint with ice. I wish this place would go back 10 years and make it like "the spot you want to go to"....versus the spot you now avoid.
