They did not do the service correctly. The tires were not rotated on multiple occasions. This is not adequate or professional never coming back here again. This morning I was a stranded driver with a car flashing notifications on the dash. I don't live in Merced and still had about 7 hours of driving to go to get home. Merced Toyota and Service Advisor JR to the rescue. I called and while they did not have an appointment immediately available, JR had very helpful suggestions to get me back on the road. My car is being repaired at Merced Toyota, they were able to help me get a rental and I am now home safe and sound. Unexpected car problems are always so inconvenient but Merced Toyota, you really went above and beyond. From the first phone call to the nice young lady that helped me with my rental, I well taken care of every step of the way. Update: We ended up waiting over 3hours. Giving it 3 stars because the service advisor Kevin P was very friendly and helpful. He was very apologetic for the wait time. Absolutely terrible service and they don't care. I was scheduled for an 11:00 tire rotation. Takes about 15 minutes of actual work time. I checked in for my appointment and they told me it would be ready in 4.5 hours. I was shocked and asked why, since they booked my 11:00 appointment. Their reply: "that's just the time you check in with the technician. In order to get out of here sooner you need the first or last appointment of the day." The technician, Kevin Koker, was not even apologetic for the absurd delay, but was rude. I then spoke to the manager who showed me all of the paperwork for people ahead of me. I asked why they couldn't book appointments with specific task-related time slots since they know how long it takes to rotate tires, do a tune up, oil change, etc. he stood there like a lemming and only said they do a lot of volume. Well, so do other places that don't make you wait 4.5 hours for a 15 minute job. I mean, an hour would be acceptable. Maybe 2 on a busy day. Almost 5 hours? That means you don't give a crap about the customer. And the reason is just poor management. They book appts to fill the check in guy's calendar, all the same time slots regardless of the job. Horrible management practice and terrible customer service. Not even an, "I' understand, can we reschedule you." No attempt to even make it right. Avoid this place unless you want to spend all day there for the smallest job. Losers. The manager below pretends this review is news to him, but he was there and I brought it to his attention in person. He's the one who showed me the paperwork for other customers, the one who made lame excuses and did nothing about, not even apologize for the absurd inconvenience. Went to get a part changed on my Lexus and the entire experience was TERRIBLE! The employee I worked with in the parts department was named Ricardo. Which his voicemail box was full and he was nearly impossible to get ahold of and would rarely call me back when I wanted updates or had questions which created an issue with communication. He originally told me my part plus labor was quoted to be at $3,950.99, I found the part on eBay for $100 and was able to get the code cleared. As soon as my car was ready (nearly 1 week after having the part that takes only two hours to change), he said there was an issue with my battery and wouldn't hold charge or start without a jump and was going to cost an additional $245 if I wanted to get it fixed through the dealership. This was never an issue or spoke of throughout the entire full two weeks of having my car. He stated my battery had a two year warranty and was almost past the date of warranty (he said 2022 and 2 year warranty). I picked up my car the very next morning and it didn't need a jump, the gas tank was empty, air conditioner on full blast, sun roof was open, and turns out my battery was only one year old and has a 3 year warranty and is literally written in large letters on the battery!! This place is a scam and should be held accountable as it is a poor representation of Toyota. read more

Went in for an oil change and they "forgot" to tuck wires in that should be inside my car (recently April 1st 2022)...on another occasion they forgot to secure the under carriage I'm assuming it's called that but it's under my car and they left them partially unscrewed.. Employees are knowledgeable and always very friendly. They are also always busy too but they make sure customers are not waiting too long. It takes generally about an hour to an hour and a half to get your regular oil change with the multiple point inspection service. I've been here a dozen times with my 2013 Toyota Sienna and I think the longest I've waited was 1hr35mins and the shortest I've waited was 55mins for the same kind of service (oil change, tire rotation, top off fluids, inspection, etc). They have a clean and large customer waiting lounge in the showroom with complimentary coffee and tea and several large flat screen tv's. They offer free WiFi too. The WiFi works well. They will come and get you while you wait in the lounge or they offer shuttle service that will take you to work or home and pick u up when your car is ready. I don't know how the sales department is but I can definitely recommend the Service Department to any Toyota owner. read more

I took my brand new 4runner in for a windshield replacement in January 2021. A few days later, the plastic cowel between the hood and windshield flew off in the wind from not being properly set back after the replacement. Today (August 2022), I had to again replace my windshield for another crack. The team at Safelight discovered the windshield heater had never been reconnected after the original replacement and was just dangling the wire underneath. Frustrating to get such poor service by taking to a dealer to ensure my brand new car had the best service. Communication from the dealer also could have been improved - upon making appointment they didn't let me know that they needed to keep the car for more than a day. They were kind enough to provide me with a loaner car to make up for it. (That was the only positive part of my experience.) read more

I found a car that I have been looking for on the Toyota home website and I give this place a call and speak with a salesman, Sargon Shamoon, he sends me an email regarding the specs on the vehicle with an msrp price and says they have a markup of $995 that includes mats, rear trunk cargo cover and first aid kit and that is it, no other markups. I tell him I will start heading down there to reserve it as its still in transit and would like an email with a final sales quote. I begin driving down and 35 minutes into my 2 1/2 hour drive, no quote. I call his cell and the dealership phone number and am placed on hold for 25 minutes. I hang up, call back and am told Sargon is busy, I ask to speak with a sales manager and am told they are all busy. I cannot get a hold of anyone. Really, nice try. I decide to say forget it and turn my car back around as I'm not trying to drive 2 1/2 hours to find out the car has been reserved by someone else or get the old bait and switch with a crazy markup. After looking at all the negative reviews, I'm glad I didn't continue down there after all. 3 Hours later Sargon sends me an email, not even a call for an appointment on the upcoming Thursday, really. We are highly disappointed with this Toyota dealership. This will be our 7th Toyota in 12 years and we have never experienced this type of un-professionalism. read more

I have 2 recalls on my Toyota Corolla. I called before school started (I'm a teacher) to get it done before I went back to work. I was told Merced Toyota would give me a call and never got one. The young man i spoke with told me he had no record of that (it was a very quick response which means he did not look anything up on his computer). I told him I would call the number back and show proof that I did. His response was.... ok. Very flippant. I didn't appreciate it at especially since the recall is for the air bag which could be potentially life threatening. I ended up going to Madera Toyota where I got excellent friendly service. I went online, requested specific items that I wanted on my 2022 Toyota Corolla Hybrid and within a day Saira Cardenas, from Merced Toyota, sent me a quote that I wanted. From there I went down to the dealership, discussed the details of the purchase and was told that my Toyota was in transit and would be at Merced Toyota from January 19-21st. I got the call from Saira this morning that my car had come in and I could come into the dealership to pick it up. Not bad considering I visited the dealership on January 17. I've had constant issues with them on service too many instances to write. I even have a free oil change ready with them but would rather not use it and go somewhere else. Gonna probably head to Madera Toyota and see how there service is compared to Merced's it's gotta to be better. This was my 1st time going there for my maintenance on my vehicle. I had been going to Modesto & ended up here because I was able to get appoint earlier date than Modesto. But I actually got better service, faster service & staff who were more courteous & gave us MUCH BETTER service than Modesto. In Modesto you can be there all day as they don't care if they make you wait. Employees are so RUDE. I've stood in Line waiting 4 service person to do my paperwork & they ignore you. If you go up to their window I've had them say I'm closing this line & then put up their sign but they don't leave. When you try to ask question they won't give you answer & they tell you to go another window. Only one of the men I think it was Rafael has been only one who was helpful & not rude woman are the worst customer service reps. I like that Merced will tell you of you take later time your waiting time will be less. Which gives customer option if they want 2 give up entire day waiting or not. I actually purchased my new vehicle in SJ because I was treated so badly by sales & finance mgr in Modesto. They wouldn't give me any of the deals that were being advertised on TV gave me many lame excuses. So I went to SJ & I purchased vehicle @ price i offered to buy in Modesto. They gave me the .090 interest rate & the rebate which Modesto told me vehicle i wanted to buy wasn't one of vehicles that interest rate was being offered to. And as far as rebate it was either you got rebate or low interest rate but not both. At SJ Capitol Toyota i got both & they didn't say the CHR was not excluded from Rebate or lower interest rate. So they flat out LIED to me. But it was their lost as I purchased my vehicle @ another dealership & NOT @ Modesto Toyota. Prices much lower in San Jose than Modesto so if your looking 4 New vehicle shop around its not like before that prices lower in Central valley. They wanted almost 10k more. read more

As of 6-21-2018: Nickel and Diming. So online, wheel locks are an upgrade for $50. Not only do they upcharge it to $95, they attach it to the lease (without asking) so after 3 years I would have actually paid roughly $200 for $50 wheel locks. That was the last nail in the coffin for us. The "best" they could do on a base model RAV4 36-month lease was $289/month with $1000 down. That's with an over 800 credit score. Mother-in-law received a 2017 RAV4 XLE last year for $250/month with $1000 down from the same dealership. What gives? Razzari Ford next door was offering a Ford Escape, comparable in price with lower residual value, for $0 down sub-$200/month. How much sense does that make? read more

I can hear another co worker taking a personal call and using profanity. And the one who is in charge doesn't know how to work with people. Always has a rude tone. Took my car in for an oil change today & I had my appointment set at 9:15. When I got to the dealership cars were backed up to where the used car lot used to be. Well I called in to the service department to let them know I've been sitting in my car for quite a while waiting for my appointment at 9:15. I was told to just leave my car where it is and to go into the service department. Jessica Martinez check in my car and I went to the waiting room to wait for my cars oil to be changed. Two (2) hours later I go up to one of the reps and he tells me Jessica is at lunch and it would be 10 minutes and it would be ready. Ten (10) minutes later I went to the cashier and they don't have the paperwork. Just now 2 hours and 37 minutes my car is ready. I was notified by text. Educate - if one of your service reps are going to take their lunch break it would be great to let your customer know someone else will take care of your customer is waiting. Also since when does it take 2 1/2 hours to service a car that should be in and out? You have a nice sign behind the cashier that states: Here to serve you because we care. I'd like you to stand behind this statement and show each customer you mean to do as you are stating. I've been a loyal Toyota customer for 15 years and am rethinking if my next car will be a Toyota. read more

Here is the big issue: after CONFIRMING the credit app is only a soft hit, and that a hard hit would only happen if we make a deal and I apply for a loan, I get a notice in the mail 2 weeks later that my loan app was denied, and now I have a hard hit. SHADY! Don't sign ANYTHING, not even an approval for the credit check, unless you and them make a deal. Of course, they'll try to say 'well, we won't REALLY know unless we do a credit check', but that's BS. If you know your numbers, like I do, they can make something happen. ...Sigh. I'm at Toyota getting the oil changed and the intake guy got very rude with me. He said he had to take care of someone before me and I said ok Im going to go sit down. Then that rude man JR said well Im not going to chase you down. I said Excuse me? He repeated Well Im not going to chase you down. I said Im sitting in your lobby and you don't have to be so rude. For your information I have medical issues. I sat down for a bit then got up and asked him to if he was ready and he said I don't have to deal with you your appointment isn't till 1:45. I told him just hand me off to someone else you are rude and I don't want to deal with you. I went over to a different guy and he helped me no problem. I reported that uncle Fester looking guy with a wart on his nose to his boss. Wtf the more i deal with Toyota the more i hate it! My car is a lemon. Its a 2019 Prius and every time I drive over something small the rim gets bent and my tire gets ruined. It costs almost $1000 to replace one rim and one tire and I buy the cheaper tire at $165. I wrote the company. I spoke to a gal and she said she'd look into it but when she finally called me back she said the dealer said there isn't a flaw in the car. I have had many cars and I have never had such a cheaply made tin can as that. I went to Sprouts on Tuesday and when I went out to my car it wouldn't start thank God my grandson was in the car (he's an adult) because my key wouldn't unlock the doors. He manually unlocked the doors from the inside. I have a keyless car but i do have a thing that most cars have that you can lock and unlock the car with. He got an Uber for us and low and behold the Uber was a Prius same color as mine. That guy gets 60mpg Im lucky to get 48. He drives his car all over California and has 100,000 miles on his car!! He told me "You got a lemon!" None of my sensors work to tell me anything about tire pressure etc. My passenger window quit working. That nice service rep at Toyota that helped me after rude Uncle Fester JR wouldn't, Fredi at Toyota made sure my car was taken care of. While Uncle Fester didn't even apologize. I went to his boss and reported him. I don't know who he thinks he is but he needs at the very least a write up! read more
