Holy smokes, Merci Jones, I want to love you... and I think I eventually will. There's something here. You can feel it. The bones of a really great bar are already in place, and I genuinely appreciate the effort and vision behind it. Walking in, the decor immediately stands out...I love the subtle nods paying homage to the old Alligator Garden. That kind of storytelling matters, and it gives the space character. Pricing is fair, the happy hour is solid, and yes... I even walked out with a t-shirt, so clearly something is working. That said, the layout and vibe didn't quite land for me at least not yet. The booths feel a bit like a temporary solution, almost like placeholders until something more lounge-forward comes in. Sitting there, especially facing Broadway, it felt a little too open and less intimate than I expected. I found myself finishing one drink and thinking, "Alright, onto the next spot." Now, that could just be me. I'm coming from the northwest side, not right across the street or living in the nearby flats, so maybe I'm not the core crowd. But still, I think there's an opportunity here to lean harder into a more defined, cozy identity especially like that popular corner of the bar on the right side. More of that energy, please. Service-wise, there are some growing pains but also some bright spots. During the Fat Tuesday grand opening, I ordered a Black Manhattan and was told it couldn't be made. Came back a week later, and Rachel stepped in and made it happen she's been the standout and honestly a big reason I'm willing to keep coming back. On another visit, I ordered a Boulevardier. It was good, but I was a little surprised there wasn't a deeper conversation about spirit preference. The bar gives off a vibe of elevated cocktail knowledge, so I think guests naturally expect that extra level of engagement. I've heard the staff was brought in with a more novice-friendly approach, which is totally fair--but there's definitely room to grow into that higher-end cocktail identity the space hints at. And that's really what this comes down to; potential. Merci Jones feels like a bar that's still figuring itself out, and I mean that in a good way. Like a cocktail that hasn't quite hit its perfect balance yet but you can taste where it's headed. I'll be back. I want this place to grow on me. And I have a feeling, given a little time and refinement, it absolutely will.

The cutest and friendliest new bar in town. Plus, hot dogs with your cocktail on Mondays? Say less. Love the fast service and happy hour. Give this place a visit.

Drinks were great. Just wish they had food options or allow food from their sister properties Pumpers or Hot Joy

Someone in our group had heard this was the place, so we walked over and hoped for the best. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately impressed by the vibe. The space is very cool and feels like a beautifully repurposed old factory. It has a lot of character and energy without feeling overwhelming. Our group of eight easily found a great spot near the fireplace, with some of us on the sectional and others in chairs, and we were comfortable right away. Despite being very busy, the service was quite good. Drinks came out promptly and the staff was friendly and attentive. We stayed for a few rounds and really enjoyed ourselves. This place turned the night around completely. Great space, great drinks, and great service. I will definitely be back the next time I am in San Antonio, and would even consider staying at the hotel just to be close to this bar. 5 stars.

Service was quick and attentive, even when we switched it up on her and jumped from a table (where we had ordered) to a spot on the couch that had opened up. I wasn't feeling like drinking alcohol, so I ordered a mocktail called the Prohibition Punch and enjoyed it. It was very citrusy/sour, but was refreshing. I'd probably try something else on the menu next time, but still had a great experience overall!

Service is super quick here especially if you are trying to grab something quickly and continue your exploration around this area. The price point on the cocktails and beers here are super reasonably especially for the area. Happy Hour is daily too so don't sleep on going over here to grab a drink or a canned beer The colorful menus draw you in besides the charm of the nicest bartenders here. There is a drink for every drinker here that includes non-alcoholic (NA) drinks as well so don't be shy. If you see something on the menu that calls you get it. Your drinks will be carefully created right in front of you and with the freshest herbs (like lavender and dry fruits) and juices you can find on this side of 281. My friend and I ended up getting a couple of drinks off their seasonal menu. I got a lavender lemonade and she opted for an Aperol spritz cocktail that we took outside to enjoy the sunshine while daydreaming about living inside The Pearl. The amount of history in this building where the Park Bar is located is remarkable and fascinating. It was super cool to be drinking in such a historic building that used to be a bottling department that would bottle the beers back in the day.

A great place with the convenience to grab a drink and sit out on the lawn area. The service was…read morefast and friendly. The prices are reasonable and the mixed cocktails were tasty! Will be visiting again! Enjoy!

The food was outstanding and surprisingly affordable. The fresh, homemade tortillas were a highlight, and my entrée came with a variety of delicious sides that made the meal feel like an incredible value. The quesadilla was so good we started eating it before I could even get a picture! You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in San Antonio.

It was also my friend's first time and since there were so many different yummy sounding dishes on the menu we decided to do the Norteno Menu - which essentially was where the chef selects multiple courses for you and the dinner essentially becomes a surprise of "What delicious thing comes next?" Our dinner ended up consisting of: Aguachile Verde, Guacamole, Roasted mole beets, the pollo served in a rojo sauce, and a sweet end with a Tres Leches cake. Every dish was unique and consisted of an explosion of flavors. The chicken was soooo good - especially when you paired it with one of the fresh and absolutely delicious tortillas they bring to the table. Such a great dining experience and ambiance. I'll be back!

We enjoyed some of their IPAs and began with grilled oysters which were delicious with quite the kick and their chilled cucumbers which were nice but would have been better if they were cut into smaller pieces as each piece was an entire spiral from the length of a cucumber - but they were still delicious! I got the snapper throats which is my absolute standout dish off their menu, my husband had the pork and my kids enjoyed the calamari and their pressure cooked chicken with biscuits - with their delicious house salad as a side as one is more than enough for 4! We sat outside, the little seating area is shaded. We started with drinks, i had the frozen pearlita which was so refreshing during the hot sticky weather. We also tried the seafood platter which was awesome. I had the snapper throat and crab Mac and cheese as my meal, it was so much food and so good.
