Mercy Me in DC has that grown, polished, soft‑luxury vibe. Dim lighting, warm gold tones, plush seating, and that low hum of people who look like they have somewhere important to be after this. It's giving international lounge meets DC sophistication, sexy without trying too hard. Ladies, if you're trying to date up or elevate your roster, this is your playground. I pulled up as a plus‑one for a business meeting after dinner at Shōto, so I wasn't hungry, but the food looked incredible. The drinks? Fantastic. The bar stays packed, and I met plenty of suitors just sitting pretty. This is the kind of place you can walk into alone, bat your lashes, and suddenly you've got options, men, women, whoever. (Happy Pride Month.) For me, even though the food looks great, this is a pre‑game paradise the perfect spot to warm up before the real fun begins. Crowd check: solid 30-40 energy. Not really for the 50+ crew.
Went on a Bossa Nova night (every Wednesday). It was dim and had date night vibes. They have a bar if you want to sit solo but there were tables too. My boyfriend and I went. Got some apps and drink. I got an espresso Martini and he got a mocktail. Would recommend going again especially for the entertainment. I thought our server was good and checked on us but knew we were there for the music.
Where do I begin? I was blown aeay by the food, service and ambience here. It had a very chill vibe on a late Sat night with a DJ spinning some tunes. Our server was phenomenal! I did ask her name but forgot and would have loved to give her a shout out. I think she was a South American woman in her 40s or 50s. She was so friendly and insisted on giving us free shots for my husbands birthday. We ordered cocktails, an eggplant dish and a pasta dish and the patatas Bravas (so good we went and got it again). All the food tasted really good. So worth it!
Let's get into my Saturday date night at Mercy Me! I am usually the researcher so I have already looked at the menu, photos, and reviews before I go to a restaurant, but this was a "Get ready, let's go" night! Ambience: so Mercy Me is inside of Yours Truly Hotel. Not a typical restaurant set to the side, but hotel bar with tables and food. Hotel guests are coming and going through the front entrance. It must have been a wedding group staying there, so pretty lively/loud. Mixed dress again due to hotel setting. I would have been way more casual had I known. Food: Sorta Lomo Saltado 4/5. Perfect medium preparation, good portion and flavor. Green beans and onions on top. I would suggest still adding a carb (I'll come back to carbs) Lamb Chops: I could not even bring myself to taste my dates lamb chops because the portion was only a taste. So 1/5 stars. There were 2 small lamb chops for $34! No additional sides. This is barely appetizer! Rice and beans: 2/5 beans had not a single drop of seasoning. Plantains: 4/5 I guess. Fried plantains aren't hard. They did sprinkle toasted coconut on top but it's basically for decoration. It doesn't "stick" to the plantain. Drinks: Espresso Martini 2/5. Looks pretty, contains dairy so thought to be creamy. But it was basically coffee. I didn't get a hint of anything else Caipi Shiso 3.5/5. Their take on a caipirinha. However full of ice and very little beverage. Finished in like 2 sips. I started this review with 4 stars but as I'm recapping, I think I'm down to 3 . I'm interested in the Brazilian music nights on Wednesday and Thursday so would come more casual and open to trying another drink. But I also don't have to Also forgot I had the Hamachi until uploading photos. Nothing memorable. 3/5
I absolutely loved my experience dining at Mercy Me. The restaurant is very beautiful with vibrant decor, it's really spacious, and there's a large bar in the center of the restaurant. The front of the restaurant has large bay windows that are open, so you'll get fresh air throughout the restaurant. The food was magnifico! It's Latin food, tapas style! I came here to celebrate a milestone with a few friends and family, so we ordered quite a selection for the table. First, I ordered the Arándano mocktail, which was pretty good. The food we ordered included the crispy yuca, papas bravas, empanadas de mariscos, peruvian chicken, coconut plantains, and rice and beans. Every single thing was delicious. The papas bravas may have been my favorite, if I had to choose. It was topped with crispy onions, crema, and a shaved cheese. At the end, our waitress brought me a celebratory dessert, the mousse de maracujá. It had a passion fruit base, so it was a bit tart but still tasty. It was a great dessert to end the night!
Love this restaurant on Wednesdays with the live music. Definitely must experience that. Make a reservation because it's popular. Our group had about four different dishes. Nothing but rave reviews from the Peruvian chicken, lomo soltado, and broccolini. Our server Anton was five star! Very informative and warm towards us.
Top notch service and the restaurant is so cute with comfy seating. We got 1 bottle of Aqua Panna and it was $10 so beware of that but everything else was tasty and they give you fresh plates and silverware with each round. What we ordered for a table of 2: - Empanadas: 9/10. Blue Crab & shrimp. Small yet filling. - Chaufa: 10/10. shrimp, crab & corn fried rice. This was our fav! - Sorta Lomo Saltado: 7/10. There was some fatty parts and I wasn't a huge fan of the sauce.
The staff was outstanding and went above and beyond for my food allergies! The manager came over to our table and walked through the menu with me, talking about changes I could make to almost any dish so I could have it. The ceviche was fresh and had great citrus flavor. The miso in the Umami Fashion was an excellent touch. Unique cocktail menu and great tapas spot. The only reason I didn't rank this 5 stars is because the blossom bar was closed and we weren't told at the time of reservation.
I had came here for the Brazil and Morocco watch party, and spent some time before the match and during halftime getting drinks at the Mercy Me bar. Such a vibe with tasty drinks and beer! The staff were nice too to let us know when there were seats or if we needed to know anything. I have yet to try their food, but I'd like to try eventually.
Food drinks: The food at this location was good. We didn't get the steaks and potatoes, and it wasn't something out of this world, but it was good. The drinks were also pretty decent. I truly didn't really like the fact that they were a bit small, and the serving (which I will insert pictures) seemed as if I had already drunk some, if that makes sense. I assume it's to fit the aesthetic that they do have, which is really nice, but I also just wish I got exactly what I wanted when it came to quantity. I can truly say that the food wasn't memorable, but the location definitely was. Location: This location is very nice, and I really like the aesthetic. It's low-light, and it's perfect for a date. It's definitely not casual. I would definitely dress more business casual or truly just dress up. This is a perfect location for a date or a special occasion. We stayed in the hotel that's connected to this restaurant, so I'm not sure how parking works within this location, as we stayed in the garage for the hotel and didn't really have to worry about that. Service: Service was great, and we didn't have to wait much for our food, and everything was provided as expected.
Tremendous service, delicious food, and a lush ambience. The restaurant has South American cuisine that is rich in flavor. Each dish arrived fairly quick and was plated with excellence! The steak was tender and spiced well, the plantains were absolutely amazing (sweet, thick, and coated with a nice char)! The lamb came with a delicious red chili sauce, (although was bit less tender than the steak). The potatoes were seasoned well and topped with shredded cheese. The tres leches is moist and worth a try (although it is more of a rendition of tres leches). The expresso martini is absolutely delicious (perfect balance of sweet, froth, and flavor). Overall, Mercy Me is a great place to dine and I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an elevated South American dining experience!
Pros: very very cute ambiance! It felt like you could go there for any occasion and have a good time . They also had a live jazz band playing with was really nice. The food was good and the service was great. Very friendly staff . Cons: though I thought the food was good , it could've def used more flavor on the chicken and others . I had to add salt .
We had a reservation for 5:30 on a Friday and were seated right away. There were plenty of other tables so this is a good time to come if you don't have a reservation. Four of us ordered appetizers for the table. We had the crispy yuca, the empanadas, the ceviche and the NY strip anticuchos. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. I ordered the Peruvian chicken for dinner and ended up taking most of it home with me because I was so full. The next day when I reheated it for lunch it was just as good!

Mercy Me was another Instagram hyped restaurant I wanted to check it out! I came in for Sunday brunch with friends and we sat in the Blossom Garden which was very cute & picturesque! The servers were very friendly from start to finish. Honestly, the food was 3/5 overall. I ordered the Wagyu A Lo Pobre which was cooked Well instead of Medium. The eggs and fries were too crispy and my friend wasn't a fan of the Pain Perdu. We did agree the Chorizo Rice Hash was good but nothing was spectacular. The experience was just okay so I wouldn't rush to come here or recommend it over other brunch spots in DC. Probably best to grab a drink, take some cute pics and leave. read more

I did come in for food, just a drink at the bar. After waiting 10mins and having time to write this review, I got no service. When I first sat down, someone brought me a menu foe drinks and never returned. The vibe here is nice. But, there were 3 bartenders behind the bar, LITERALLY bumping into each other and no one came to take my order. I won't be back read more
Definitely a fan of a restaurant that serves something other than burgers and boring salads. Peruvian-inspired food is unexpected and yet very well executed. I enjoyed the lamb empanadas. It would be great if they marinated the lamb just a tad longer, but the flavor was great and the texture was better than I expected. PLEASE try a drink you're not used to!! And trust your server, they live for the recommendations. The space is a really laid back vibe with a classy touch, so plan to chill for a while and enjoy the night. The menu changes often, but I hear brunch is really where it's at. I'll come back for that. The rice & beans and crispy yuca were a really nice touch, good flavor without heavy oils. In the words of Marvin Gaye, Mercy Mercy Me! We had Sunday brunch in the Yours Truly Hotel at their instagramable restaurant, Mercy Me. Our reservation was in the covered patio which is a vibe given their greenery and a ghost DJ playlist. We opted for the pre-fix menu, which included a non-alcoholic beverage and a three course meal. My food choices were, first course fruits. My second course was a burger. My third course was the pavlova. The fruit was standard, but could've been plated better. The burger was flavored well but I thought the price point deserved more fries. My wife had the crab quiche which she enjoyed, but still was hungry. The dessert was surprisingly good. What I liked most about this restaurant was the vibe, the food tastes fresh and it was very inviting for families with newborns/toddlers. If you are looking for somewhere that's a vibe with bright greenery, I'd recommend Mercy Me. One of the few cocktail bars in DC where I feel the ~$17 drink prices are justified. Every cocktail has a slew of unique / rare ingredients which are combined to create an extremely well balanced drink. The atmosphere is very comfortable and the music is upbeat while not being nearly loud enough to drown out a good conversation. Plus who doesn't love a vinyl DJ. I also got the burger which was surprisingly extremely good. People around me couldn't stop commenting about how good it looked, too. Finally, I am obsessed with sloths so I love the coasters and wall art. read more
Swanky, vibey, suave place. Not too loud. Came on a Tuesday evening during dinner time and there was no wait. Was worried that it was more of a drinks place as opposed to a food place, but the food was great! Seems like there's a special menu for cherry blossom season so I won't comment too much on the specifics of the food, except to say it was all delicious! Very unique flavors and fresh ingredients. Well cooked. Food came out fast. We weren't super hungry so the tapas style was great to try a little of a lot of different dishes. My picky Asian mom was very pleased with the Japanese fusion and she lived in Japan for 10 years, so that's huge. Service was nice and attentive. I had a fantastic time with my husband (who let me drag him to their newest "Cherry Blossom Garden" bar experience). The service was excellent! From the host (who called me to check on me, since I was getting late due to a huge blue line metro delay!) to the servers! Ambiance was outstanding and beautiful! Definitely picture worth it, would suggest the spot to anyone who wants to celebrate (the music was on spot! The playlist consisted in Latin music, from early 2000s to most recent Bad Bunny's hits, hopefully your vibe!) and get a ton of photos with a divine background! Food is where it kinda flaked on me? We tried a couple of things from the menu: Sakura Oysters ($22 for half a dozen), Burger ($22) that came with seasoned fries, Moqueca Eggs ($21) and the Espresso Martini ($18). The oysters where fresh (as it should be) but what it made them different was the cocktail sauce made with Sakura bitters and cherry ponzu-granita! I was glad that they actually used Sakura blossom flavor to match the whole theme, it gave the sauce a faint floral undertone. I was underwhelm by their take on baked eggs, its like the dish needed more salt and spices, less oil, although the yuca fries where my favorite thing that came with my dish, and I was happy by dipping them on the ketchup that came with my husbands burger, which he enjoyed a lot! Definitely Mercy Me strongest point is their bar service! My espresso martini was lovely and chocolate-y enough to end my meal with a sweet twist! I'm not sure if I want to go back for either dinner or brunch, but probably will returning for some other of their cocktails and their yuca fries appetizers! read more
Beautiful open restaurant off the lobby of the Yours Truly Hotel. Food was good - the shareable tomahawk was especially cooked and presented well - but nothing that truly wowed me for the quite expensive price. It's a great place for a group, where there are plenty of large tables for 6-8 people, and we were able to get a reservation just a couple of days in advance. The DJ playing on Saturday night was also not as disruptive as the reminder texts before our dinner suggested - but then again, we were seated on the other side of the restaurant. Recommended for a fun night out with friends. read more
Nice and swanky place. I was really excited to visit this place, but left underwhelmed. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a bad place. The staff were great and the restaurant was beautiful. My expectations were just too high. I ordered the tomahawk steak and it was first one I've had since I returned stateside. For the price tag, I'd expected an A+ steak, and it fell short. Nonetheless, I had a good time on my visit. Perhaps when I return; I'll sample the menu to better gauge what I like. read more
I think I have one of my dinner/vibe go tos in DC. For cherry blossom season the patio has been designed with a covered cherry blossom canopy. The service is nice and everyone on the staff was super helpful, attentive and well versed with the menu. The space also has a DJ on Saturday and Friday night which makes this place a perfect for date night For drinks we had the high ball & espresso martinis. Here is how I rank the food: Plantains - 8/10 - They are sweet and perfect Whole fish - 8/10 - recommend for 2 ppl only. Had a wonderful evening at Mercy Me for their El Chalet theme, which was their seasonal ambiance of South America at their outdoor, heated winter pop-up experience. Here were some of my takeaways: Environment This was a beautiful space with a large bar area with plenty of bar and lounge seating. It's located in the Yours Truly Hotel. It's very much a great place for a date night. Dark, romantic, intimate setting and looks to have a dj on the weekends to add to the ambience. The pop up experience was in the back area which looks to be a closed off patio. The space was well put together - it felt warm and cozy and felt like we were in a warm cabin in the middle of winter. It was packed with folks however still easy to talk and have a great private conversation. Loved the space and the experience. Service If you want to go here it's best that you make reservations. The staff was great and made sure we were seated right away. Our server was great and gave us great recommendations off the menu. Overall friendly demeanor and provided great service throughout our dinner. Food and drinks The themed drinks were really good and strong. I really enjoyed the customized menu of drink options. The food was also pretty good. The burger was well made and the empenadas were tasty. I also really enjoyed the provoleta. My friend had the steak and enjoyed it as well. Overall I really enjoyed the pop up experience and loved the ambiance of the full restaurant and bar. The food was good and the drinks even better. I really loved the vibe of the bar and will definitely return to check it out. read more
I am SO happy the search for places participating in Restaurant Week, led me to Mercy Me! I had such an amazing time. The relaxed atmosphere, food and service made for a perfect dinner experience. There are many different seating options, lowlights and a nice music selection playing - just loud enough to enjoy while still being able to hold a conversation. For our starter, we tried the Mussels. While everything I had was delicious, the mussels were definitely my favorite. They were so flavorful as if every mussel was seasoned individually. The bread paired well with the sauce and was so good I had to ask for more! Things just kept getting better as the second course didn't disappoint! The pappardelle had generous amounts of crab and a yummy creamy flavor. The skirt steak was also great along with the yucca fries. The house made hot sauce made it even better. For our dessert we had the pavlova which had a mango coconut cream flavor that was a refreshing treat after a such a great dinner. I'm usually not a fan of tres leches but this was exceptional. Nice textures from crunchy to soft with a nice hint of the rum flavor. A truly all around great time and I look forward to visiting again. read more
Mercy Me's seasonal popup El Chalet is such a fun refresh of the former outdoor patio space, with great ambiance and a warm, cozy interior that is perfect for a date night or catching up with friends over dinner/drinks. The popup is fully enclosed with heat lamps that will keep you very toasty despite the cold temps outside. The dinner options can be hit or miss as Mercy Me changes out their menu pretty regularly, a mix of Latin American fare, but the cocktails are usually spot on. read more
This place is very chic and gives Barcelona's fancy bar vibe. Even their food has a lot of Spanish food options. 1. Reservation: necessary 2. Ambience: dark, romantic, large space, so you can have a nice private conversation. 3. Food: 3 stars. - tartare: terrible! it looks grey! you know when the beef turns bad, it turns grey, that kinds grey! - burger: amazing! You have to ask for the bar menu to get the burger. The menu for the table is NOT the same. you have to ask. - ceviche: 3.5 stars. it is totally edible, but not good. 4. Drinks: 3 stars. - Passion fruit drink was so sour, which is a miracle. It is hard to get this flavor in this sorta drink. Bad, basically. - manhattan smelled and tasted like a medicine. We had to return it and we don't do that, maybe just once a year. had to stick with wine after that. Do NOT get mixed drinks here. 5. Dessert: 5 stars. very delicious. 6. Service: 4 stars. He was very nice and tried very hard, but he did not know what he was doing. read more

Great bartender! Ian was so friendly and knowledgeable. We sat at the bar and had a couple of drinks and the pannacotta for dessert. Got to try some scotch from Bunnahabhain where we had visited in Scotland. Wonderful experience and would visit again when we are in DC. read more
I've been to MM a few times but for some reason last month hit much different and here's why! The vibes were vibing and I got there early right as the bar / dinner service was starting! Our bartender was amazing and gave us grade a service. The drink that I had was one of the best margaritas I have ever had in my life. I have been raving about this drink ever since I had it and almost boycotted drinking because I haven't been able to find anything that matches. Then let's get into the food. I usually don't eat at MercyMe. Just get a quick drink, but this time around I decided to offer a little bit of a nibble and I was definitely not disappointed. It was packed with flavor and deliciousness. this is honestly the perfect late afternoon snack that I have been wanting so it was great that they had some small options and not just a large meal. The hotel also has a back bar installation that changes seasonally and their cherry blossoms are next up. They say they start to book out really quickly so make sure to book a seat ahead of time as walk-ins can be really hard to get. I have always love yours truly hotel, but the revamp of MercyMe has a really got me in my feelings and it's a place that I feel like I should always come to whenever I'm in DC. read more

Went to the bar for drinks, appetizers and a relaxing place to read a book. Mercy Me does not disappoint. The drinks are good. They have a solid selection of wine and standard drinks. Their specialty drinks are not engaging. The manhattan was excellent. While the seafood empanadas are nothing exciting, the queijo coalho anticucho was. This grilled cheese skewer with hot honey brings the house down. Smoky and salty, this dish is best consumed while the cheese is hot and melted. Delicious! The relaxed atmosphere sets the scene for a leisurely evening of drinks and appetizers and possibly dinner. Staff is attentive but respectful and allows you to take your time. Mercy me is very cute! There is a covered outdoor space that they redecorate into different pop-ups depending on the season. In the winter, they had a cozy cabin-themed pop-up with wooden decor, throw pillows, greenery on the ceiling, fire heaters, and a vibey black and white movie in the background. Get reservations in advance and it's great for post-dinner drinks. In the spring, there was a cherry blossom pop-up. My friend and I came for the quickest meal of our lives before a show at the Kennedy Center, ordering sushi and mushroom because they seemed like they'd be speedy. The waiter was very kind and accommodating, so our food and drinks came quickly, we enjoyed it, and got to be on time for our show! read more

This has been on my list for a long time and it lived up to the hype! I know they have a great cherry blossom pop up but it was booked for a private event the night we went. A good cocktail menu and small tapas style food options. Everything we ordered was great, amazing espresso martini! Staff were wonderful too. Loved! read more
Chill | Date Night | Half-Chicken Chill - Overall, the place is pretty chill. It has great decor and offers a lot of options. It is attached to the Yours Truly DC hotel. So, you will always have an interesting group hanging out. You can do drinks after work, grab an appetizer with friends, or have a traditional sit-down dinner. Date Night - This place is great for date night. The bar or couches are ideal if you are on a first date. You can get a standard table if you are on dates 2 or 3. If you are on a group date - they have 8 people tables and couches, which are pretty comfortable. The vibe of the place gives it an approachable but upscale feel. So, I highly recommend it. Half-Chicken - If you are hungry, this is the dish for you. It came with two sides. I had mixed greens and fries. It was pretty delicious. The Chicken was grilled and had only one bone. Therefore, 80% of the chicken was a breast that was tender and easy to cut. Pro Tip: Not a lot of parking in the area. Therefore, you need to add 10 minutes to find parking. Pro Tip: Their cocktails are good, but their bartenders/mixologists do not get off the script. So, if you want to let the bartender impress you - this is not the spot. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to check this place out on a Wednesday evening. It was decorated very nicely with an array of different tables and chairs and a large bar in the center. At first, I mistook it for a hotel lobby bar and thought the restaurant was in another location. We started with the Crispy Cheesy Bites ($8). Although it seemed like an awesome combination of two things I love: Brazilian cheese bread and mozzarella sticks. The taste was underwhelming. I feel that if the bites were warmer and not room temperature, the experience of eating them would be elevated. I had the Butcher's Steak ($28) for my entree. It came with fries and a side salad. My steak was cooked medium rare and it was topped with chimichurri. It tasted pretty good. The steak was a bit chewy, but it was great overall. We also had the plantains two ways. Of course they were delicious as well. For my first beverage, I got the frozen piña colada. I normally love piña colada's, but this one had a strong butterscotch-like aftertaste. I traded it in for a strawberry guava daiquiri which was much better but difficult to drink with the provided paper straw. Overall I think this place is okay, but not really worth the hype. Friends came into town last minute and I needed to snag a reservation somewhere quiet enough for us to catch up but cool enough to feel like they were definitely outside of Ohio. Mercy Me was a hit! We sat in the covered portion of the blossom garden and it was gorgeous at sunset. I came in with no expectations about the food and drinks because I'd never been to MM before, but I was pleasantly surprised by both! Lots of restaurants this cute lack the food and service to back up the vibes -- this is not one of those. I recommend the Caipi-Lychee if you're into sweeter drinks, and the Lama de Lima if you want something tart but creamy. The empanadas are delicious, the ceviche is well-balanced and a large portion, and the wagyu saltado exceeded all expectations. It's sweet and savory and a great play on the traditional saltado with pearl onions and potato chips. Go there! read more

on wednesday nights, mercy me does brazilian jazz. the ambience is immaculate, set in a hotel lobby with casual dimly-lit tables in a spacious dining area. the food is so quite delicious. the honeynut squash was out of this world. i just wish the char siu pork ribs came out warmer. read more

From the beautiful decor to the delicious food, this place was a 10. We came here for girls night; and my friends raved about this place and asked how I always find the good spots they've never heard of. Um.....Yelp. lol Ambiance - Cute! Cute! Cute! I actually made a reservation here sight unseen. Then when I was in DC one day, decided to take a look inside. I was very pleased by what I saw and decided to keep the reservation. The Yours Truly hotel actually converts their lobby into a restaurant for meal services. Customer service - They were very accommodating. I had a couple of last-minute cancellations, but they did not seem bothered. Our server did a good job explaining the cocktails and tried to get a feel for what she think we'd like. Food - Better than I expected! They don't have the most extensive menu, but what they do have is packed with flavor! I don't feel like you can get a bad dish. Try those crispy cheese bites. You'll thank me later. :) Overall, I would give this place a thumbs-up for giving it a try. I'd like to go back when the weather is warmer so that I can eat in their outdoor space in the back. read more
