After our experience tonight, I felt like I had to leave a review because the food and service were absolutely fantastic. My husband and I travel a lot and eat at restaurants all over, and we both agreed that our meal at Meril was 5/5. We actually chose to sit at the bar rather than at a table, and I'm so glad we did because our bartender, Ray, was incredible. He was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and just genuinely made our entire experience so enjoyable. The service was outstanding from start to finish. We ordered the mussels, meatballs, shrimp tacos, and pocket bread, and everything was excellent. The mussels and meatballs in particular were AMAZING! The shrimp tacos were still very good, but they weren't quite at the same level as everything else. I have some food allergies and the kitchen was extremely accommodating, so I'm sure some of the modifications may have affected the dish and honestly, I appreciate the attentiveness to my allergies much more than anything else. What really surprised me was seeing all the negative reviews after having such a wonderful experience ourselves. I can only speak to our experience, but the food was excellent, the service was excellent, and Ray was exceptional. We had such a great time that I would and will absolutely come back, and next time, I'm sitting at the bar again and asking for Ray. He should be embarrassed. Meril is the newest restaurant at M Resort and opened to moderate amounts of fanfare having achieved some sort of partnership with celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse and also secured a prime space with excellent views of the pool and beyond. I have tried it three times now and am finally prepared to say that it is not worth the hype. First off, I tried a Blue Crab Linguini ($28.00) to-go. It was uninspiring and evoked memories of similar pastas from the nearby Raiders Tavern. The crab portion was small and the pasta was just boring overall, with little meaningful contribution from the Calabrian chili butter. I returned for a dine-in experience to try the Double Cheeseburger ($18.00). It felt really salty on first bite but thankfully felt tolerable the rest of the way. The patty was thick and juicy, and the cornichons were a fun twist. I just never thought that I'd be wishing so strongly for lettuce and tomato on a restaurant burger. And why is there a choice between paying ten bucks and not getting any fries at all? I'm now here for the 3rd time. The Barbecued Shrimp and Crispy Corn Grit ($22.00) came out pretty lukewarm for some reason, and the grit cake was not all that crispy. But I liked the flavors on the shrimp and sauce, and the grits were a decent complement. Unfortunately, the Beignets ($10.00) ate the way I imagine cardboard would, and they were even stingy with the sugar on top. The French 75 ($10), a cognac version rather than a gin, was pretty balanced and not watered down. Another issue on this visit was that the server ignored me long enough for me to draft most of this review while sitting at the table not visibly eating or sipping much at all. Dine at Meril at your own Peril. The scenery outside of the window may be nice, but inside is simply another underwhelming M Resort offering. We were hesitant to dine here because of all the bad reviews but had dining credits to use so figured why not. Went around 6pm & sat at the bar. Service was great. Never once left waiting for anything. The ambiance is very casual, bright & loud. The menu is all over the place! Meatballs: deliciously tender & the whipped ricotta had a hint of lemon in it that really brightened up the dish. Truffle fettuccine: very small portion but good flavor. It's only $19 so I wasn't expecting shaved truffles on top but more pasta would have been nice. Blue crab linguine: another small pasta portion but really good. It didn't look like much crab but once you dug in it was there. Just more fine of pieces. Overall we'd go back. Probably for breakfast or lunch. I really wish they had a brunch menu on the weekends. Came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, with reservations at 1215p. Meril is located just to the side of where the old (still untouched) buffet used to be. We were promptly taken to window-side seating, facing northeast towards the strip. Beautiful views which we enjoyed while waiting for our food to arrive and during our meal. We had ordered a variety of things to try. HOUSE BOUDIN BALLS with pepperjack cheese, creole mustard, and pepper jelly Was unsure what this was but saw it had pepperjack cheese, so assumed it was stuffed with cheese. We were wrong. Apparently, BOUDIN BALLs are a classic Cajun appetizer made with pork and rice boudin sausage making into balls and deep frying them. The outside was a quite dry and definitely not much cheese. The creole mustard added a nice brightness with its vinegary and spicy brown mustard seed kick. Not sure if i noticed much rice either. Felt mostly was just a fried sausage ball. CRISPY GULF SHRIMP TACOS with sambal aioli, pickled red onions, wasabi tobiko, and cilantro As name suggested CRISPY Gulf shrimp tacos with a creamy sambal (not spicy) aioli and pickled red onions. Shrimp wasn't dry and was nicely sized. Cilantro does nothing except it was laid on TOP of the entire taco. Unsure how i feel about there being wasabi tobiko, if it works or not. Still pretty decent GULF YELLOWFIN TUNA BUNDLES with jalapeno, truffle ponzu, wontons, and tobiko Wasn't sure what i was expecting when the name said "bundle" but i guess i wasn't expected lettuce wrap/bowls. Again, same tobiko from tacos, a slice of jalapeno, and sashimi thickness slice of yellowtail tuna, and a mountain of FRIED wonton STRIPS under, all held together with this lettuce. Truffle ponzu on the side adding a little freshness to it all. Again, unsure about the tobiko but rest of it was pretty nice altogether. MARGHERITA flatbread with basil Decent size flatbread (cut to 6 slices). Melty cheese. Obvious basil aroma/flavor. Pretty good. Can't really say much about a simple margherita ! MARKET FISH with corn maque choux and lemon creole butter On the day we had visited, their MARKET FISH was red snapper. A good portion of red snapper filet with SKIN ON (crispy) topped with an arugula and tomato salad, on a bed of grilled corn kernel. On the side, there was the lemon creole butter sauce. We both love fish and this fish was good. Beautifully cooked and flaky. Went nicely with the lemon creole butter sauce. The dressed arugula and tomato salad was nice. Corn kernels were not overcooked and had a nice bite to it. Probably our top favorite for the meal. FETTUCCINE with truffle butter This, was unfortunately, VERY sad looking. VERY small portion of fettuccine pasta. I know truffle is expensive but for an entree, this is depressing. I dont even know if you can call it a snack or small plate portion either. Ok truffle flavor topped with grated cheese on top. Overall, pretty decent. Never been to an Emeril Lagasse restuarant so this was a new experience. I can see how some people say it's strip pricing at a local casino. Margelli was our server for the visit and was super nice. Overall, I rate this a 3 out of 5 stars right now! Service was great! Our server Trey was very attentive and provided good recommendations! We had reservations and got seated timely. Prices were reasonable. However, they had a few menu items a little overpriced... my opinion. Food was good! Nothing that stood out or had our jaws dropped! Our FAVORITE dish was the buttermilk fried chicken! Hubby and I agreed it was perfectly seasoned and cooked! The dill and side sauce was perfection! Our LEAST favorite was the gumbo! We wanted to like it but couldn't get over the burnt taste. We ended up sending it back! Ambiance was nice, clean and classy! Our table had a great view of the M Resort pool area! Located inside the M resort is this fabulous little gem. Let's start off with the candied pork ribs. They were fabulous. They did have a hint of mole sauce, which made them amazing. The pineapple upside down cornbread was ridiculous. You have to get it if you get nothing else just order this. It will make your whole experience. We also ordered the golf yellowfin tuna, bundles, solid. They were good we went for lunch so we split the double cheeseburger beautifully charbroiled to perfection and the french fries were lovely as well. Would definitely come back. One of my dining rules is to not try a restaurant until it's been open for at least 90 days as it usually takes that long to get their grounding and work out all the kinks. Having said that we decided to try this place even though they'd only been in business for a couple of weeks because our kids were in town and we were looking for a different place to take them. Overall it was a mixed bag (mostly good) but I'm grading on a curve due to the recent opening. Saturday night, reservations for four at 7pm. The dining room was packed and boisterous but not too loud. We were originally promptly seated at a booth near the window overlooking the pool area however the sun was setting in that direction and right in our faces so we asked for a different table and the hostess was happy to accommodate. Our server Christian was very friendly and welcoming (although it took him several minutes to get to our table - again new restaurant) and we decided to order multiple items to share so we could sample a lot on the menu. That ended up being a good idea because this place is kind of like a tapas restaurant in that the dishes are rather small and tend towards snack and appetizer sized portions. We ordered the Pocket Bread, cornbread, deviled eggs, boudin balls, meatballs, fried chicken, crab linguine, gumbo and fried chicken salad. The bread is very creative - it's like a large crispy pita and was quite fresh. We found the cornbread to be well made but way too sweet for our tastes - it's more like a dessert. The eggs were good, nothing terribly special. We really enjoyed the boudin balls (kind of like an arancini with sausage inside) and the meatballs were well made and tasty. I liked the crab linguine but this is more of a crab-flavored pasta dish as opposed to a crab dish so be forwarned. The last "small plate" item was the gumbo which was my personal favorite of the meal - not surprising based on Emeril's background. It has a nice depth of flavor with large chunks of delicious andouille and tender shrimp. The two fried chicken dishes were listed as entrees but again were rather small portions for that designation. They both used the same basic cut which is a part breast and part thigh pounded thin and then breaded. Again be forewarned that it's not all white meat. I prefer dark meat chicken so I enjoyed it but everyone else at my table not so much. I thought it had good flavor although both dishes were delivered somewhat lukewarm. My wife loves Emeril's banana cream pie and orders it at every one of his restaurants so of course we tried the version here. It was pretty basic - good flavor but the crust was a little hard and difficult to cut. We also tried the beignets which were not good. They're just not prepared properly so instead of being the heavenly pillows of goodness like in New Orleans they were dense and way too chewy. I definitely would avoid them. Dinner for four came to $206 before tax and tip which wasn't bad considering that included a large glass of Pinot Grigio and two soft drinks. We did have some leftovers to bring home. Service was good all things considered and the staff appears to really be trying. I would give them a couple more months to get it together and then give it another shot. read more

We dined at Meril for dinner on a Thursday night. We were seated right away after checking in for our reservation. It's extremely bright inside the dining room as it overlooks the pool. The noise level is a bit loud. Juanicieto was our server for the evening. He provided great hospitality and was attentive. We ordered a few items to try. They were out of the lychee cocktail I wanted so I went with the Congo Square Punch. It was sweet and refreshing. We ordered the crispy shrimp tacos, meatballs, and bbq shrimp for appetizers. The shrimp tacos were our favorite appetizer. The bbq shrimp still have the heads attached so be warned if that's not your thing. The meatballs were good but were spicy. For entrees, we selected the ribeye which was decent and the crab linguine which was pretty tasty. The Brussels sprouts were really good and memorable. For dessert, we went with the banana cream pie. This was a stand out dish and a must order. Our only gripe was the food temperature. Every dish came out lukewarm and definitely could have been served warmer. We will return to try more items. A bit late for the review as we were here on 7/17 Friday lunch, their second day of opening. Very spacious and contemporary interior design, especially the seatings by the window overlooking M resort pool, which brings relaxation and vacation vibes. The staff were nice but not familiar with their menu or serving time. And the second we got seated (no wait as we made the reservation), we heard the next table guests complaining to the staff as they waited one hour, not sure for food or the check. We also witnessed the server brought the food back in the kitchen after looking at it, not sure what happened. We waited roughly 20 minutes for our server to come by, Another 20 minutes to order. After we ordered, the first thing brought to the table was the cocktail. Then another really long wait for our food to come, but we were not able to eat as there was NO utensil provided. Of course another while of wait just to get the utensils. We literally ate for 10 minutes and waited for more than one hour. The food was mediocre unfortunately. Nothing like what those influencers bragged about on social media. The only food item we liked is the street corn. And their lychee rose cocktail (substitute vodka to Rum) is really good, exotic and refreshing with great and rich flavor of lychee with charming floral notes. We got what the server highly recommended, crabs linguine and ribs plus other items. The crab linguine is a total disappointment. Really small portion like 3 bites at $28, can't see any crabs and the only thing we can taste is tomato sauce. The ribs were ok and covered in sweet sauce. We also ordered burgers and pastry basket. Burger patty was not bad, but we ordered well done, and it came out pink meat. The pastry basket never came. At this point, we just wanted to leave. I would come back after 6 months to try their breakfast and hopefully everything goes on track. But my other friends were totally done with it after this experience. read more

I'm a fan of Emeril's restaurants so I was excited to see him opening one at the M. We went on a Friday night, maybe a week or so after they opened. It was busy but we had a reservation and were seated quickly. Main takeaways - service was good (slightly slow but understandable for a new restaurant on a busy night) - food was okay (some items were great, others were meh) - pricing is on the higher side value and quality wise. We ordered the: - pineapple upside down cornbread (great mix of sweet and savory, small portion) - house boudin balls (also good, best way to describe it is a mix between a pork meatball and an arancini) - blue crab linguine (light sauce which I liked, not very spicy even with Calabrian chili, could've used more crab but a good portion of pasta) - ribeye (the cut/quality was mediocre especially for the $56 price tag, small portion 8-10 oz, 1/2 inch thick, disappointing) I don't mind paying for quality but you can get a much better steak for a few dollars more at Anthony's. The ambiance was casual. If you're seated near the windows, it gets very warm, especially when it's over 100 degrees outside. Overall, I would give them another try as some of the menu items were good. But they need to strike a better balance between quality and pricing. read more

Today marked the long awaited and highly anticipated grand opening of celebrity Chef and TV personality, Emeril Lagasse's new restaurant at the M-Resort, Meril's. The simple but mighty menu offers guests appetizers, small plate dishes, flat breads, soups and salads, along with a host of other items such as; fettuccine, hamburgers, fried chicken, mussels and a seafood boil. I started with the deviled eggs then transitioned to the barbecue shrimp, cod sliders, brussels sprouts, vegetable flat bread, mussels and the pineapple upside down cornbread. All of the food was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. My favorite of the dishes was the barbecue shrimp and the brussels sprouts. The shrimp were lathered in a brown deliciousness sauce, which only enhanced the dish's overall flavor. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with color coordinated table, chairs and wall decor. The large windows allow guests to enjoy the outside views overlooking the pool, surrounding area and the strip. The actual dining area is a nice size and designed to allow large parties ample space to dine. There is also outdoor seating available. Overall, my experience today was good. However, as with any new establishment there are still things to work out and adjustments to be made. So, being too critical at this point would be unfair. My hope is the standards being established with respect to food quality and customer service will continue. But only time will tell. read more

I think the negative reviews stem from the first few weeks this place was open. Probably still finding its sea legs. Our experience was excellent. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, blue crab linguine, paccheri, and the banana cream pie. All were delicious. Service was also on point - never an empty glass and food came out promptly. Portions seemed smallish at first, but after finishing our meal we were satiated and not uncomfortably full, so tbh the servings are just right especially if you get an app and dessert. We'd definitely eat here again, and I hope more people take the negative reviews with a grain of salt and give it a shot too. read more

We had high hopes for this place, but the portions for the price were disappointing. We started with the so-called "candied" spare ribs. Absolutely not! My Diet Coke was sweeter than this falsely advertised small plate. Then we got the deviled eggs--oh Lawd--I couldn't believe my eyes. They gave us what seemed to be three quail-egg-sized halves. Why three? These are two eggs and what did they do with the other half of the second egg? Just give it to us - especially for what you're charging. Then for our entrees, I got their "popular" crispy buttermilk fried chicken--#NOPE. #Flavorless. #WheresTheRest. #NotCrispy. I was so dissatisfied, especially for the price. It's a small chicken thigh cut in half. I was flabbergasted. I had my friends try it, and they said to send it back. I sent it back and got the truffle butter fettuccine. Let's be honest, for the price, we could've just gone to Olive Garden and gotten breadsticks and soup with it. The double cheeseburger was another entree, and it was like two silver-dollar-sized patties. I could've gone to the Jack in the Box next to this place at the gas station and gotten a better burger. And the fries were an extra charge? Our server said everything is à la carte. The service was great, and the restaurant is beautiful. Please fix it. I don't think I'll be back until they fix the portions, menu, and prices. Needless to say, we left still hungry. I had been wanting to try this place since the day that they opened but hesitated due to all of the negative reviews being posted. After dining there I really don't understand where all of the hate comes from. 3 of us dined on an early Wednesday night. Had reservations for 5:30 but it wasn't busy and walk ups were seated fairly quickly. The place is modern and clean, with no hint of anything that really gives it personality decor wise. We ordered a good array of dishes (see unaltered pics), flat bread, corn bread, cod sliders, chicken parm salad, short ribs, gumbo, brussel sprouts, and beignets. I was expecting to not like any of it from the reviews but I was actually surprised on how tasty everything actually was. The short ribs and meatballs were tasty, maybe a tad saltier than my liking, but not overtly salty. The cod sliders were really good too, with a crunchy crust and flaky cod center. The chicken salad was very flavorful and the portion of the chicken was pretty sizable. The gumbo was nice, flavorful but did not quite blow me away. Everything was good, not great. And from the reviews others have posted I wonder if the taste of the food was not the issue. Portions are smaller than what comparable places serve, and one dish was noticeably small for the price. The cornbread is not really shareable, as the portion size was like a small cupcake. Service was very good, and people seemed to be enjoying their meals. When we were there most of the diners seemed over 50 and we did see a couple get up and leave without eating. It seems like they thought the wait for the server to come over was too long. Overall, all 3 of us thought the food was much better than we expected based on all of the negative reviews I suggest you try this place for yourselves and not give too much weight to the bad reviews. The food options are slim as it is at the M, and Merils gives a good option to the diner that wants a little more variety than just mediocre Italian food, overpriced steaks at a steakhouse, or sports bar items. Greet first impression of this new local Henderson gem. Saw some of our favorite staff at the bar of this new venue that is still in start up mode. Drinks were very tasty and the menu was very distinct from that of Jayde which we love too. There was a mix of familiar favs with Emeril's obvious touches of the South. We hade the salmon tacos which were beautifully presented, healthy and pretty good but missing a bit of spice for me. The short ribs were very tasty and our appetizer of mussels paired very well with the super airy flatbread that the bartender suggested! Top tip right there!!! As with any dish like this you must have something to "sop up the juices"! All in all this pre Stone Temple Pilots concert dinner was a hit! EXTREMELY Disappointing Experience; Service and Food Issues. (tldr: We won't be back and would, sadly, not recommend.) We went for lunch today to celebrate a family member's birthday and were PROFOUNDLY disappointed by the back-of-house experience at MERIL. Our party of three was seated quickly and cordially greeted. Orders were placed and then the experience went downhill from there. About 15 minutes later, HALF of one person's order arrived (Gumbo). We waited and about 15 minutes later the other half of their order (Vegetable Flat Bread) arrived. It was pretty burnt. After waiting a while, we told him to start before his food got too cold. We called the server over to ask about the remaining two meals and he went to check. After a while he returned to tell us that he had checked with the kitchen about the status of the remaining meals. By this time, the first diner had completed his meal and parties seated after us were eating their meals. Server returned again to let us know that he had checked on the rest of our meals and was "kicked out of the kitchen" for asking again. We asked for the manager. In the meantime (over an hour after ordering) the Double Cheeseburger, Cod Sliders and two orders of fries arrived. When the manager came by, he apologized for the delay, acknowledged the burnt flat bread and, in his observation, there were other parts of the just-delivered-meals that he "wasn't happy with". He said that the gumbo and flat bread would be removed from our ticket. The taste of the food was just OK, but the cheeseburger had an oddly over-salted spot and the tartar sauce was also over salted. The fries and cod, on the other hand, could have been better seasoned. The aioli and the tartar sauces had sat under a heater for too long-- evidenced by the oxidation of the top surfaces on both. We originally had planned on having Banana Cream Pie for dessert, but decided to pass, not wanting to be disappointed further. We have dined at the original Emeril's in New Orleans and the experience at Meril is nowhere near in quality and taste. Clearly, there are issues in the back-of-house. We had dinner Sunday night and the restaurant was about half full. Despite our reservation being mixed up with another party, we were seated quickly. The wait staff is friendly and are readily available. There were a couple cocktails on the menu not available which was a bummer since those were the ones we wanted to try. The menu is a little eclectic. It has some Louisiana type dishes mixed with Chinese style dishes. We thoroughly enjoyed the BBQ shrimp and recommend that dish as a must try. Definitely need the pocket bread to sop up the sauce. The pineapple upside down cornbread is super sweet.... More like dessert. Our mains did not arrive at the same time. My guess (this being a recent opening) is that the kitchen is still figuring out timing. My mussels and broccoli were not hot upon delivery and my husband had to wait another 10 minutes for his swordfish. The mussels had 5 that were not open so clearly I did not eat those. The swordfish was delivered hot and my husband enjoyed it quite a bit. I got a small bite and the fish was tender and juicy. My mom had the Crab linguine which she ate with gusto. The broccoli side was steamed broccoli with sliced hot peppers drenched in sweet/ sour sauce. Not my favorite as it was 1) cold and 2) too sweet. We will give it 6 months and try it again. read more

I was really excited to try Meril so when I arrived at the M recently I bolted for the restaurant. First, everyone had bright and positive attitudes. Keanu our server was great. We needed a receipt for missed points Colton a manager didn't hesitate to help. Both well spoken and courteous. The space is great, it offers plenty of seating. It's light and open and offers a nice view of the pool and Vegas in the distance. The bar seating is really nice. When it came to the food... *sigh I visited twice once for breakfast and once for lunch and unfortunately, both meals missed the mark. The one standout was the pepperoni flatbread, which I genuinely enjoyed. The breakfast potatoes were barely warm, and the omelet was flat and lacked flavor. I would've enjoyed all my extra crispy bacon if only it would've came hot. I did enjoy the pineapple cornbread I skipped the bacon drizzle. For lunch, I ordered the Parmesan chicken salad, and it was underwhelming. It just wasn't something I'd order again. My Bloody Mary was good, I enjoyed it. The atmosphere was nice, clean, and inviting. The food was presented well and looked appetizing, but unfortunately, everything we tried was quite salty, which took away from the overall experience. Service was a little slow, likely because there didn't seem to be many workers available. The restaurant was also somewhat difficult to find, especially from downstairs, as there aren't many signs directing you to the location. Five stars for Emeril Lagasse's Meril! We visited on opening night and were impressed from the moment we walked in. The restaurant is beautiful, the atmosphere is lively and welcoming, and the servers and staff were attentive throughout the evening. Many of the staff came from other M Resort restaurants, and we were especially happy to see Amy, our favorite hostess, and Chris, one of our favorite people from Raiders Tavern & Grill. Their familiar faces made the evening even more enjoyable. The menu offers a wonderful variety, with everything from salads, pasta and seafood, to tempting desserts. Even more surprising were the very reasonable prices--especially for a celebrity-chef restaurant! We started with the Parmesan chicken salad, which was honestly one of the best salads we have ever had. My husband also ordered the delicious street corn and buttermilk fried chicken. I chose the seafood boil, and it was excellent! The seafood was delicious, but the rich, flavorful broth may have been the best part. For dessert, we shared the bread pudding with ice cream, and it was amazing. My only suggestion for Meril is to serve crusty bread slices with the seafood boil. While I realize that there are potatoes in the dish, a piece of crusty bread would have allowed me to savor every drop of the broth. It is far too good to leave behind in the bowl! Meril was an impressive experience, particularly for opening night. We cannot wait to return and try more of the menu--including the famous banana cream pie! read more

We wanted to try this new offering by Emeril Lagasse at the Me Resort. It's a light airy room and spacious. The menu is set up for things to share. We had several things to share including Deviled eggs, BBQ Shrimp, the Big Ceasar, blue crab linguini, flat bread, and crispy shrimp tacos. The prices are between strip prices and neighborhood. The portions are a bit underwhelming for the prices charged. What's the deal with serving 3 halves for the deviled eggs!. Where is the other half? Exception would be the Big Ceasar. The two standouts to us were the blue crab linguini and the BBQ Shrimp which is one of Emeril's classic recipes. Most of the food delivered the flavor and was spiced nicely through out. The service is earnest and friendly. Smiles all around from the service staff. Our server was folksy and knowledgeable. If they either adjust the prices or the portions I would enjoy coming back to try other items. read more

Not impressed at all. I think Emeril would not be happy either. The pineapple upsidedown cornbread was ok. The bacon pieces on top would have been better if they were thin and crispy instead of thick, hard and chewy. The pasta was swimming in oil. The french fries tasted of heavy oil. The burger I enjoyed and was actually the only thing that was pretty good. I was told they don't cook the burgers to requested temps. Service was super slow and a few of the servers were rude. Our primary server was nice but she was slow too. Atmosphere wise I felt like I was eating in my college dining hall...too open and definitly not a romantic date night place so if you're looking for a place to take your significant other, move on. I am a huge Emeril fan so was super excited to try this place at the M. Unfortunately this fell way short. I think we went opening week and they got some things to work out. 1. Some of the dishes came out lukewarm 2. The beloved BBQ shrimp that I remember from his Fish House at the MGM was not even close. The sauce was separating or there was too much oil/fat that made it look like the sauce was separating and the shrimp was over cooked 3. Timing was way off - it almost felt like they held onto all the appetizers we ordered until everything was ready to drop at the table. This may have been one of the reasons the food wasn't hot. 4. Gumbo just wasn't what I remembered it to be from the fish house. Lacked his normal flavor On the bright side, service was excellent. We mentioned that the shrimp was over cooked so they comped our desserts, which we got the banana cream pie and beignets. Both were very good. Not sure if we'll be back but I'm still a huge fan and hope they work things out. read more

Came with myself and someone else, spent well over 100 dollars and left hungry. They get one extra star for the drinks as they were decent and the service was adequate. The hostess was nice and we walked right in. As for the food, the prices are outrageous for what they give you. The portions are small and the food is bad. The deviled eggs are on a bed of lays potato chips, crab pasta is laughably small, and the jambalaya is in a small bowl barely enough to have someone else to take a bite. We tried to redeem it by ordering desert, because how can you screw that up, but the banana pie was bad too. The restaurant looks nice but that's about it. read more

Meril - Very good smoked-salmon, egg-Benedict and berry-bowl - American Near Me - Henderson, Nevada

This has easily become one of the worst restaurants on my list. We recently came here for breakfast and ordered the BBQ shrimp. The shrimp were completely undercooked--still raw and bloody near the heads. We decided to give the restaurant another chance and came back for dinner a few days ago, but unfortunately, it was just go as disappointing. We ordered the highly recommended Blackened Chicken Fettuccine, and it was unbelievably salty. The portion was also shockingly small--smaller than most appetizers I've had--yet it cost $24. We also ordered a burger, which was extremely salty as well. The burger alone was $18, and when they asked if we wanted fries, we didn't realize they would be an additional $10. Bad food, tiny portions, and high prices. After giving this place more than one chance, we definitely won't be coming back. read more

Very Disappointing Service We waited about 15 minutes to be seated on a Saturday, which was completely understandable and not an issue. Once seated, a very polite young gentleman approached our table and explained that he wasn't our assigned server but would be assisting them. He asked if we wanted something to drink and assured us that our server would be with us shortly. Unfortunately, we then waited another 20 minutes without anyone returning to our table. We never saw our assigned server, and the gentleman who initially spoke with us never came back either. At that point, we had been waiting long enough without even receiving drinks or being acknowledged again, so we decided to leave. Before leaving, I spoke with the hostess, who was a different person from the one who seated us, and explained what had happened. I asked her to please make sure the manager was made aware of the situation so hopefully this can be addressed and other guests don't have the same experience. The service was extremely disappointing. As someone who is a regular player at the M, I was especially surprised by this experience. Unfortunately, it has made me hesitant to return to this restaurant. read more

Absolutely incredible experience at Meril! The food was outstanding, especially the gumbo and the burger -- both were absolutely delicious and easily some of the best I've had. A huge shoutout to Ray, the bartender, who made the experience even better. Ray makes amazing cocktails, provides fantastic service, and has such a great personality. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and it really makes a difference. Great food, great drinks, and even better service. I'll definitely be back -- can't recommend Meril and Ray enough! read more

Outstanding! My wife and I made our second visit to Meril after having breakfast there a few days after the opening. This experience was much better! Our waiter was welcoming and friendly. We ordered the Pineapple Upside-Down Cornbread with bacon marmalade and the Crispy Cod Sliders pickles with tartar sauce. Both did not disappoint. I had an Old Fashioned and my wife had the Indigo French 75 cocktail. We would order everything again! We love how open the restaurant feels. We'll be back! read more

The esthetic of this restaurant completely misses the mark for Emeril Lagasse and Vegas. It's bright, loud, and plain. It literally makes you feel like you're in a glorified Denny's! At first they wanted to seat us in the "private dining room". However, there was a large party already dining in there and they wanted to put us in a corner to the right of them and it was super loud and very sterile bright white. We asked to sit in the main dining room. Seemed odd that they called it private but wanted to put us with a big group??? The main dining room is very open and structured like a diner style seating there is no ambiance and it's very loud. Service was great. The servers were very friendly, polite and accommodating. The food came out in just the right amount of time. Drinks were great. Food was tasty and prices were reasonable. I wouldn't rush back but I wouldn't seek it out either. Was genuinely impressed! It's super cute inside and the food was really good! Some standouts were... The codfish sliders were insane! Think like McDonald's fillet fish but healthy. Loved the candied short ribs, shrimp tacos were delicious, the tuna is a must, (we ordered a lot) fries were solid 8/10 (definitely a bit of a fry snob), deviled eggs were great, the Boudin balls were OK not bad but just OK. We also did the banana cream pie for dessert, which was really good as well. Also got the Hugo and Leche drinks, which were both really good! Definitely recommend and for sure will be coming back! If you've been to Raiders Tavern, this will feel very familiar. The menu is a different concept. Some standards like burgers and pizza, some unique items, but it all tastes like it came out of the same walk-in. The ambiance is nothing inspired despite the view of the pool. Avoid the tables near the front. You'll have people walking past you the whole time. The waiting area has no seating, so everyone just stands around, though they do seem to seat people rather quickly. Our server was friendly and the food did come out quickly and was cleared away pretty much as soon as we finished. The burger is $18 and fries are another $10. Vig Deli has burger and fries for about $20, and Anthony's has a 10 oz wagyu with fries for $32. You're at near steakhouse prices for what amounts to deli food. If it was 20% cheaper, I would give it more stars. But at this price point, it's not somewhere I will go often. read more
