Not a bad place to study, but not my favorite Local Coffee to study at. This location is a bit loud and cramped compared to other Local Coffee's. It is loud because they play louder music than the others, and it can also get very crowed/packed/at capacity, which makes it louder. My favorite is the Stone Oak location, which is more conducive to studying (quieter, more space, etc). read more

So this was my first time visiting San Antonio from Los Angeles. So I'm used to the surplus of prevalent coffee shops with oat milk and alternatives haha. I chose this place off of searching "coffee shops" and gave it a chance. I'm really happy I did, the staff was very friendly and helpful. They had a few vegan meals and milk alternatives. They froth their milk really well and pay close attention to each drink. I highly recommend this coffee shop, the barista that made my drink, who I also conversed with is named Nate. I live down the street and I rarely pop in here for coffee & today I remembered why. Ordered with a less than enthusiastic cashier (no hello no good morning) and then my drink was ready and placed on the counter without anyone saying "xyz" was ready. I patiently waited thinking that it could be my drink but being polite I didn't want to overstep and grab someone else's drink. Finally after about 5 minutes I walked up and asked is this mine? We visited this location on a Saturday night, about 30 minutes before closing time. No other customers were there at that time. The cashier was not very welcoming. He took our order and almost $18 later for 3 average, non-fancy drinks, I was disappointed with my drink. I ordered a basic chai and asked for it to be made without foam. When I grabbed it, I could immediately tell by the weight of the cup that it had [a lot] of foam. I took it to our table to verify. After removing the foam, the drink was half full. I returned to the register to advise the cashier. He then took the drink away and told the barista the issue. She looked bothered to re-make the drink. I returned to the counter to pick up the newly made drink. She never apologized or even say 2 words, for that matter. She was extremely rude. The new drink was lukewarm and the chai had a VERY bitter taste. It was so bitter, that I ended up throwing it away. If you're okay with bitter tasting, overpriced drinks in an unpleasant environment, then this is your place. read more

I will applaud this place for the environment. The place is very clean and well organized. Looks like a good place to sit down and study or chat with a friend. However, when I went (only once in my life) with my best friend, it was a little too quiet for a coffee shop. Maybe it was just that day, but still... it felt so quiet that we chose not to stay there since everyone and their mother would hear us. The coffee is also not that great for the price we paid. I'm not a fan of the flavor and it didn't wake me up at all. I ended up ordering a second coffee, and tried one of the cappuccinos in hopes for better flavor, but it still tasted the same. Got a latte, small cup size, 4.44$, barista bragging to customers how she was promoted to barista all the time she was making mine. I got it and it was lukewarm. Yuck. Local Coffee is just great. We used to live next door to the medical center location, but now live closest to this one. We don't get to stop in as often as I'd like, but I love their sparkling tea, consistently delicious coffee (best almond milk latte I've ever had), and friendly employees. Coffee is earthly flavored, overall good coffee. Now I wouldn't recommend to come here for the price if you get an ice coffee they first of all put a lot of ice in it even thought the coffee is already chilled and if you ask for no ice they charge you extra so you end paying $5 for small cup of coffee. It was my first time visiting local coffee and I was excited to see how they compared to the Starbucks which they literally replaced here in this same building. I have to say the menu was very condensed and I ended up trying a Chai Latte which was noticeably more expensive than a comparably-sized drink from Starbucks (I believe it was even more than a larger one). It was okay, but due to cost I probably wouldn't return. I understand supporting local businesses, but I just prefer the flavoring of Starbucks as well. read more

I absolutely love this place to death. It's modern and clean. It's really good if you want to study and chill out. The staff is very nice and helpful especially on your first time there. They really do care about their ingredients and where they come from. The coffee is so pure and delicious. It's a simple menu which is great if you don't know a whole lot about all the different variations of coffee. Their coffee is so authentic and original. I will absolutely go there more often.
