I have been with Meriwest as long as I can remember. It was one of those neighborhood banks where everyone knows your name and even though some of the modern conveniences like Zelle are not available and all checks get held for 7 days, the benefits seemed to outweigh the inconvenience. Today all of that has changed. While my original purpose was to was to leave a glowing review for Humaira for her amazing customer service for the last years, instead today I am looking for a new bank instead. The new employees along with the manager would not provide the same services that had my loyalty for all these years. I will be consolidating my financial business to a different institution because they no longer made me feel like I am valued at this one. read more

Because a few years ago, when I first went there for a loan and credit, Ms. Manpreet treated me and my spouse nicely, but only because she wanted to show her manager and get a point for it. After that, her behavior totally changed. Even today, when I requested a loan after several years, she was rude and disrespectful. She never even asked me for my income; she only asked for my paystubs. Yet she called me rudely and said, "Why doesn't your income match?" I told her, "You never asked me for my income; you only wanted my paystubs." Now she says, "I'll wait until you send me the income." She was very rude. I want to change my review today and say it's absolutely not right to be nice only the first time someone comes in just to say, "I opened a loan and credit." I even left a good review back then. I will definitely change my review today, and I don't want to work with her anymore. She is very rude. If you try to call this bank, be prepared to sit on hold for hours--not minutes, hours--only to eventually get routed to a dial-in service that can't actually help you with anything meaningful. If you need a quick response and can't physically go into a branch, you're essentially out of luck. That's not an inconvenience--that's a real risk when it comes to managing your finances. Banking here feels like you're putting your financial well-being in the hands of a system that simply doesn't respond when you need it most. I have needed a new debit card for years now, but I've put it off because I dread having to deal with them over the phone. Email support is hit or miss at best, so neither channel is reliable. My interaction with Angela only made things worse--communication was unproductive, dismissive, and ultimately went nowhere when I needed actual help. After 25+ years as a customer, with the last 10 being especially frustrating and concerning, I'm now being forced to make a change. To be fair, customer support used to be decent years ago. But it has deteriorated so badly that trying to get help now feels like an exercise in self-inflicted frustration. A teller immediately flagged my mom down and processed her request with ease and answered all her questions. I don't have a bank account with Meriwest, but it was part of a network of credit unions that allowed me to do some in person transactions since I have an online only bank in the west coast. I needed a cashiers banks for final payment on wedding ... and after connecting with my bank via phone they sent me here. I came back twice as I needed to change the amount of my original cashiers check and they graciously helped me out with that without charging me the transaction fee the second time, I appreciated that greatly. Staff was friendly. There a small wait as it's been quite some time since I've been inside of an actual bank. Would bank here if I needed to open up another account . read more

I want to compliment Charise Roberts-Antoie for her stellar service in opening an adult account for my son when he turned 18, and making the transition of accounts seamless, in addition to adding new add a user so I could transfer money in AND getting him a small line of credit so he could start establishing a credit history. She is outstanding! I also want to add that I've been banking here for years and the service has always been awesome, 5 stars! So I'm not sure why the overall isn't at least a 4.5. After banking with the same CU for 40 years, we made the switch to Meriwest due to their great money market rates and other plans. Converting is quite a process. Charisse gave us all supporting documentation to present to our direct deposit institutions. She assisted us in opening the appropriate type of accounts for the best return and was an absolute delight to deal with. Another trip to obtain a signature medallion had me scratching my head as it seemed complicated to me. Manpreet checked in with me during my wait and found the appropriate person to complete the request. I felt as if she really listened to my concerns. I've been a proud member of Meriwest CU since the late 1990s and have had multiple loans, accounts, and safe deposit boxes with them over the decades. Meriwest has always done right by me. My most recent situation prompted me to write this overdue Yelp review. My wife and I were victims of tax fraud. In short, a significant amount of money was deducted from our Meriwest checking account. This is where Charisse came in. We visited our local branch to see what can be done. Charisse listened to our situation intently and reassured us that she will do everything in her power to make things right. She took down our information and spent several hours working with the back office to trace the fraudulent activity. She contacted us later the same day and reassured her that we have nothing to worry about and that Meriwest will reimburse our missing funds while her team conducts a fraud investigation. This was a better outcome than I could have imagine. Throughout this process, Charisse was professional, attentive, and extremely pleasant to work with. She even called several days later after the matter has been settled to make sure everything was OK on our end. Big kudos to her! read more
