I wanted to try the original but they didn't have any available at the time. My options were Buffalo Dumpwings and Chicken and Conecuh Sausage. I got a bag of each and even got a couple extra buffalo that I think they just had extra! It came with sauces for both an instructions for easy pan cooking. I made a batch of both to put with dinner and it was easy enough. I've made frozen dumplings before so it was a familiar process. While I enjoyed bothe flavors, they're both very bold. I would only want a few at a time and wouldn't really make a meal of of them. I think I would do that with the traditional so I'll have to try those next time. Either way, these dumplings are amazing and creative with the flavors. Check them out at a pop up or order some delivered with a porch drop off.

My husband's name happens to be Billy Hall too, so we figured we had to check it out. We walked in and asked to be put on the waitlist for seats at the back bar. Even while we were waiting, the bartenders came by multiple times to check on us and brought us drinks while we stood along the wall. Then the owner, Billy Hall himself came over, shook our hands, and welcomed us. I absolutely love that kind of old-school customer service, it feels rare these days. The vibe was classic steakhouse: classy, lively without feeling pretentious. The drinks were strong, well made, and exactly what we were looking for. Once we got seats at the bar, we ordered the bison nachos and the steak martini as a snack. Both were so delicious. The nachos were loaded with flavor but somehow still stayed crispy and never got soggy. I was honestly in heaven eating them. Great people-watching, attentive bartenders, excellent service, and a fun atmosphere. We had such a great time here and can see why it's been a Charleston favorite for so long.

Well, a friend is in town visiting, and wanted to go to dinner. We're both carnivores, so steak was the order of the day. I did pick a spot off the beaten path, but at the last minute snagged a reservation for Halls, and figured I'd "check off the box." I'm extremely happy I did. Last year I cursed myself by going to The Oak, which was like Outback Steakhouse 2.0; Halls (at least in my experience) was top tier dining at its finest in terms of presentation, service, hospitality, and overall vibe. Yes, it's incredibly loud in there, but that's life. My friend ordered the filet and I, the dry aged ribeye (with black truffle butter accompaniment), both medium rare. Lobster macaroni and cheese and the roasted jalapeño corn, along with the crab cakes and onion soup. The ribeye had fantastic flavor, though I secretly wished I grabbed the NY strip instead. No real reason, but it's a genius marketing move to display the cuts of meat to the table before ordering. That's what screwed me up. But, to be fair, I do that everywhere I eat ("maybe I should have ordered that"). Cannot say enough about the service. A+. Along with our incredible server, no less than two members of management came to our table asking if we needed anything, and that was in a full house. And they all seemed GENUINELY interested in making sure we were happy and satisfied - I didn't feel any of them were going through the motions. I don't usually drink, but I polished off two pineapple martinis and probably could have had five more. Also, I have to note we NEVER felt rushed - it's a hectic room, but the chaos is under control. Totally relaxed and comfortable. Halls Chophouse absolutely delivered for me, and I will certainly be back without a doubt. If you're staying downtown with limited time, I'd definitely recommend it if you can grab a reservation. And, after experiencing Halls, give the little guys a try down the line.

Honestly, nothing about them I'd change--I'm ruined forever. We also got the avocado roll, which was refreshing and light, and the shrimp tempura roll, crispy, deep-fried, and just plain delicious. The service was amazing too--staff were so attentive and welcoming, checking in just the right amount without being overbearing. I wish I'd gone twice during the trip that's how much I loved it. If you're in Charleston and craving Thai, this spot is an absolute must!

The Thai Tea was made perfectly imo and was a generous portion. The Pad Thai had plenty of protein, the aforementioned excellent noodles, and just the right balance of peanut. The place is fairly large and was not very busy during my visit. Service was friendly and patient as I explored the full menu before deciding on my meal. Location is good as it seems to be in the thick of things on King Street. I'm not sure you'd come to Charleston looking for Asian food. However, if you have an inch that needs scratching, King Street Food will deliver.
