I have been using Merry Maids, an American owned corporation for decades since my days in Texas. This company is reliable and trustworthy. I would not trust some random cleaning business to enter my home and entrust them with my most valuable possessions especially when they undermine established and bonded corporations by cheapening the cleaning industry with lower prices and cheap toxic cleaning supplies. Be careful with businesses that bring in bed bugs and other disgusting things in gross old vaccums used to clean people's homes with. Spend the extra money and go with an established business when trusting strangers to clean. Merry Maids has cleaned my apartment so many times to make it spotless and with a cleaning crew that is friendly. They even take the time to clean the ceiling fan blades and the baseboards. And they don't get offended when I ask them to use my personal favorite cleaning products and supplies that I keep for them like my Dyson vaccum and Myers cleaning products. read more

I don't usually post reviews, but I'm so happy with my cleaning from Merry Maids, I had to share. I'm a mom of 3 with pets. I try to keep a tidy home but just keeping up with the clutter and dishes is so time consuming. I've never had a professional cleaning before, but my house needed some professional help (: To keep it short, I was so happy when I came home to a sparkling clean house, I teared up. Shoddy work and bad customer service. Brett at this location was very disrespectful. Even admitted to me that the team lead didn't check to make sure the service was done. I hired them for biweekly cleaning and a few times things were still dusty. I understand they are human and don't always do a perfect job, but this time I could tell that nothing was done correctly. The floors were dirty, the stove wasn't cleaned, the kitchen cabinets weren't wiped down. All the things they promised were not done. All Brett was interested in was telling me how my dogs were big and scary and would block the doorways in the halls. This is impossible as they are crated and the crates are anchored to the floor. Even after I offered to take them to daycare while the team came, he continued to harp on them. When I said, we have a solution for this, I don't want to discuss it, he said "then I don't think we can continue to clean for you." Honestly, I'm relieved he suggested this as i was never 100% pleased with the job that they did. Try Maid Brigade, much kinder, more professional and accommodating. read more

I had a cleaning done yesterday and I couldn't be happier! The maids arrived on time and were very cheerful. I left to run errands and came home to a sparkling clean house. Surprised the husband with a random house cleaning service and got the best text messages when he got home from work and had to confess after the 3rd compliment that I didn't do it myself. Everything was noticed, kitchen appliances, bathrooms fixtures, all the dusting and even the windows and sills were done. So I don't see my review on here any longer......might not be looking in the right spot...however I left a bad review as the company says they do things that they hardly ever do. With that said I called after the last service and received no call back. Funny once they see a negative review they call and end service all together. Their customer service is awful and they don't correct what they were supposed to do, but expect you to pay every time what they charge. There is no discount for missed rooms, sections of the house, or even when the owners wife screams at you and then hangs up. This last service (December 23) they missed an entire section of the kitchen, picture frames on all of the walls, and the mirrors looked as if my 2 year old took a baby wipe up and down to clean them. This was my first experience with Merry Maids and I would have to say it is my last. I was quoted a 2 hour job for $160.00. The 2 girls did just an OK job and when they were almost done I had asked if they vacuumed behind the couch and they said no. I specifically requested this because of recent surgery. The guy that came to my house and quoted that figure to me said that was part of their job. They ended up staying a little longer because of this and I promptly received a bill in the mail for an additional $40.00. I called the office and they took the stance that they were there longer and money was due to them. I paid it to be done with it but people should know this is typical for this company. Depends on which housecleaners you get. Some are great, so if you get a good pair, ask for them again. The service is not cheap and they don't wash bedding, in my experience. I think I will look for a housekeeper that doesn't come from an agency - it is less expensive that way. read more

NEVER ON TIME. Not even close to the window they give. Have been using them for several months. I was flexible with the times they did show because I was at home most of the time. Never reliable. Had to cancel once because they were 5 hours late and I couldn't get ahold of office (tried calling repeatedly for 3 hours) so I called the main customer service line. They said there was nothing they could do and maids still shows up 30 minutes before I had people coming over.. Today they called to cancel me during the window they were supposed to show and couldn't reschedule for another month. DO NOT USE THIS HORRIBLE PLACE. You have been warned. read more

They did an ok job cleaning our house. Biggest issue was they were never on time. With a baby in the house, they were so loud and careless in dropping stuff, talking loudly and waking the baby. They arrived late for several appointments and then had the audacity to charge cancellation fees. If your time is valuable to you, do NOT use them. Ever!! read more

I didn't 't even get a chance to use them. First time I called, I talked to Bret who set up a time to come out the next day to give me an estimate. He never showed. I called and left several messages that were never returned. When I finally got ahold of him again, he did come out and leave an estimate. When I called to set up a time to have my house cleaned, I only got voice mail. I tried all three numbers for the Hillsboro location and left messages on each one. Still haven't received a call back. The two ladies who came out to do our house were wonderful. They were on time and did the cleaning in record time. They were thorough and the house looked and smelled great, a very fresh clean smell.The stove and tubs looked amazing - so nice to get a break from deep cleaning :). It's always a treat to have the Merry Maids come first thing in the morning. I get to enjoy a cup of HOT coffee and read books with my kids. Heather and Jake did such a good job! Very nice and polite and asked if I would like them to do anything extra, or focus in a certain area. They were so sweet with my kids when they didn't like the sound of the vacuum. Having the Merry Maids over first thing, means I get to start my day slow and relaxing with my kids and I have the rest of the day to just focus on them and not worry about the house! I used this company to clean my home for about 9 months, gave them three strikes to live up to their claim that they are the most expensive because they are the best, and then switched to a different company. In fact they are not just slightly more expensive, they were charging me $25 more per cleaning than the company I switched to. Plus, they were really sloppy and careless with our stuff. I repeatedly had to tell them to bleach the bathtub because it looked like no one had even cleaned it (ditto with the dish drain in the kitchen and the hardwood floors, which still would have dust balls in corners after they left), then they ruined our nice bathmats by spilling bleach all over them. They still haven't replaced the mats or reimbursed us for the cost, despite sending some "manager" out to confirm the problems I reported. The "manager" did nothing besides leaving us a snippy note that sounded like I was the one with the problem. Take my advice and find another company - these guys are definitely not worth their overpriced rates. read more

This company is terrible. The come in with a clip board and a checklist, and one thinks...cant go wrong. Problem is that the info is not communicated to the non english speaking folks. The first time I used them I paid 145.00 for two people and the place was not cleaned well at all! More than 35 things were not done. They wrote they "deep cleaned" my kitchen...they did not actually pick up things off the counter and clean underneath, or move things from corners..terrrible job! So they say the guarrantee their work...yeah if they ever call you back. This company is the total pits. I would not waste your time or you money. The owner is really unprofessional. I emailed and called in attempt to have them do a "thorough" cleaning, and they never responded. Very disappointing. Since then I hired a wonderful person for half the price and she does an amazing job. Dont waste your time with Merry Maids...it will leave you sad..not merry read more
