My son has been enrolled here since 6 months old, he's now almost 3. Overall, I've had a good experience with this facility. A bit pricey but what daycare isn't. Since Mrs. Robin took over last summer, Merryhill has undergone an incredible transformation. Under previous leadership, the school faced numerous violations--so severe that the state took them to court in an effort to revoke their license. It was a deeply concerning time for families, but Mrs. Robin stepped in and turned everything around with remarkable speed and dedication. Her proactive approach, attention to detail, and genuine care for the children, staff, and families have completely reshaped the school into a safe, nurturing, and well-run environment. The difference is undeniable--our most recent inspection under her leadership was completely clean, with zero violations. It's incredible to see how quickly she addressed past concerns and built a community that prioritizes both education and well-being. She is hands-on, communicative, and always looking for ways to improve. Any learning environment she is a part of is truly fortunate to have her, and we cannot recommend her highly enough! A special mention also goes to Mrs. Amy, who stepped in as temporary admin when the transition began--her hard work in getting the school back on track was invaluable. must admit, as a first-time mom I was scared and nervous about returning to work and putting my child in daycare. But by no means is this your average daycare. My daughter has learned so much here, and she engages in activities that are truly great for her development and her age. I feel so blessed to have come across Merryhill Harbor Point. From the start, my child was shown so much love, not just by the infant room, but by Merryhill as a whole. She absolutely adores all of the amazing teachers. I especially want to give Ms. Kelly, the lead infant teacher, her flowers--she is just incredible with the kids. Ms. Kenzie, Ms. Nina, and Ms. Martha have all also played a huge role in my daughter's growth and happiness, and she is so fond of each of them. They make her feel comfortable and cared for every single day. A huge shoutout to Ms. Jasmine in the front as well--she gave me my original tour and made the transition so much easier. And Ms. Maria, one of the original infant room teachers, is absolutely amazing too. I also love how engaging the school is with families, holding different events throughout the year--it really makes us feel connected. Any concerns I've brought up have been addressed very quickly, and I truly appreciate that. And there's one more teacher I'd like to recognize: she has curly hair, wears glasses, and joined a few months ago. She helps run Merryhill and is often in the infant room or at the front. She is the sweetest, always calls my daughter by name, and I often see them playing together when I walk in. Huge shoutout to her too--I'm sorry I can't remember her name at the moment! My son went to Merryhill and was in the infant and toddler rooms. We really liked it and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for child care! The staff were very friendly and would always greet us with a smile. It seemed like they wanted to be there, which can't be said for all childcare workers. We felt like our son was safe and well taken care of too. The yard is properly fenced, the front door is locked with a code and there is always someone sitting at the front desk by the door. Whenever we had an issue the teachers and principal generally seemed receptive to hearing us out. In the infant room we complained that they were very often fed crackers for snack and we asked why they didn't get healthier options. The principal explained to us that licensing prevented many foods from being served to the infant room. The facility itself always seemed clean, especially considering how many kids there are. The cost is not cheap but is in line if not slightly lower than other similar centers in Elk Grove. I thought the service they provided was worth the price. I know the waiting list can be long so if you're at all interested I'd schedule a tour and check it out for yourself. read more

My son attended this preschool for a few months in early 2024. It was the worst experience that left a scar in my soul because of what my son was through on four teachers' watch. This specific location received fines from CDSS due to the complaints I filed. Essentially, though there were four teachers in the building no one witnessed how my son sustained multiple scars/scratches on his face. Then, when we got home and it was bath time, it turned out he had bruises and more scratches on his chest and belly. Investigators asked these four employees how this happened at school and they had no reply. Due to this lack of supervision and safety, the CDSS determined all the staff would need to be retrained and there is a warning letter meant to be posted on the front of the door of the school for at least two years. This experience scarred me and my son permanently, as he is my life and I entrusted him to this preschool. I do not recommend this Merryhill location. We found a new Montessori preschool located in Elk Grove where we have the exact opposite experience. He is safe, he loves going to school and the teachers really do their job to care for the children. I still get nervous to this day that when he is at school he is not be treated well and this fear is only because of our family's experience with Merryhill neglected my child. read more

An update on my previous review: I met another mom at my son's new school and she let me know her daughter attended this school and had a similar issue with Ms.Emma mistreating toddlers at the end of 2022. It's sad to think a year later and that teacher is still there around kids. This is no coincidence, I am convinced there must have been multiple other incidents that went unseen/unnoticed with this same teacher. Knowing that the teacher admitted to mishandling my son after I notified them about the bruises, and Stephanie Gill, the director, being fully aware of this - she still kept Ms. Emma at that school to be around other kids? Disgusting. I am sure this school has good teachers, but think twice before sending to a school with a Director that clearly doesn't care about the safety and well being of the kids and especially do not send your children to Ms. Emma's class!!! read more

While searching for schools for my two year old, I only had two schools in mind montessori and merryhill. I couldn't decide which one was the best fit for my daughter. During merryhill open day, my husband and I were impressed talking with stephanie gill regarding the schools curriculum and structure. My main focus was discipline, learning Spanish and social interaction with peers. Teachers: We drop off my daughter at 6.30am and Miss Nina is there to take care of her until 7am. She's very sweet and caring. She comforts my daughter whenever she cries. Around 7am she takes my daughter to her classroom which is the beginner stage 2. In August, her teacher changed to Miss yasmeen. Miss yasmeen is the sweetest person. In a short span of time, she has won my daughter's heart. She is my daughter's favorite teacher. All she talks about is Miss yasmeen at home. when she's naughty at home, we always tell her that tomorrow we'll tell Miss yasmeen. She'll always say no mommy. She does not want to disappoint her teacher. Food: I love the fact kids get to explore variety of food during breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack time. Reports : we enjoy receiving daily reports with my daughter's pictures and activities she's doing at school. Currently, we've been trying to do potty training and Merryhill helps kids. And they send report on her potty activity. We enjoy sending our daughter here. read more

I came her to apply for my daughter. We're currently on a waiting list which to me will be worth the wait. The staff is incredible friendly and very helpful. I'm nervous already going back to work and having someone else watch my daughter. But here I felt the love and warmth from the staff and couldn't be more excited! What's really neat is they have these tablets that they update info of your child on that connects to the app you download to your phone that tells you info like when your kid ate, napped, and pooped or whatever lol as well as photos of your kid that day! Though she won't be attending this location as they had a longer waiting list. They were able to contact their Laguna location and get us in over there. I am writing this review as my son ends his time at Merryhill. My son has been at Merryhill since 6 months old. He is now 4 yrs old and will be transitioning to a private school, which is the only reason for it being his last day. This school will always hold a special place for me, because of the excellent care that was provided. If I had a concern about an issue, it would be handled immediately and felt like the staff cared for my son with special attention. I went to work knowing that my son was receiving excellent care, and I was always impressed with all the information that he was introduced to, and the material he mastered. I was so anxious to drop off my baby with "strangers" but was shocked at how quickly his teachers felt like family. We have been with MH since my son was 3 months old and the 4 infant room teachers are phenomenal. All four teachers have such different personalities which allows for different teaching styles and interactions with each baby. Somehow they know how to foster relationships between the babies and get to know the unique needs of each child. My son is always so excited to see his friends and teachers. We have been at Merryhill Harbour Point for 9 months and love it! All of the teachers are so friendly and great with the kids. We feel completely comfortable leaving our son here all day and have never encountered any issues. The front door can only be opened by entering a code and you must also check your child in and out with a code so it feels very safe. There is an app used to share photos throughout the day and where the teachers post meals, naps and diaper changes. Our son started in the infant class at 9 months old and is now in the toddler classroom at 18 months. We would highly recommend Merryhill Harbour Point! read more

I love this school, my family has been using them for daycare and preschool for about 5 years. By the end of prek, my daughter was trying to sound words out and was very prepared for kindergarten. I remember one day when she was about 3.5 she came home spelling her name. I was shocked and pleased of course! In regards to their care of the baby's and toddlers, they have such a great, friendly staff that seems to care about each kid. My second child is just moving out of the toddler room to the next level. I must say I will miss all the toddler room teachers, each one is caring and supportive of these young ones. I think my favorite thing about the school is something small. Every day when you arrive and when you pick up, there is someone saying hello and goodbye to the child. That person calls them by name and tells them hello/goodbye. It is something small, but it is a great way to teach your kids common courtesy and I used it to teach my kids to look at them and say goodbye back. read more

This is truly my son's Home away from home!!!! My four-year-old son has been there since the infant room and will be done with pre-K really soon!!!!! (he is learning right now so much through distance learning !!!!! You would not believe how much fun and learn all the kids have with their zoom meetings!!!!) The curriculum is excellent, the amount of sight words, letter sounds, shapes and math is so far advanced. But , what makes this place unique is the love all the kids receive from all their dedicated teachers, helpers, Assistant Principal and Principal. Also, it is a perfect transition going from preschool to Merryhill's Elementary School. It is a seamless transition, both curriculums are aligned and it's the same love all along. I say this because my eight-year-old which is in Merryhill thirgrade comes from Merryhill Harbour since the infant room, too. I was 7 months pregnant with my daughter, when I feverishly searched for infant daycare providers in Elk Grove. I didn't have to search for very long, since so many of my friends and family had recommended Merryhill. I waddled over there, only to find that their infant class was currently booked - the good ones always book so fast! The stars aligned, and I was notified of an opening a week or so later. My daughter is almost 18 months old, and she has been there since she was 4 months old (full-time). I'm blessed to work nearby, so I enjoy the freedom to pop-in during my lunch hours to see her. Every single teacher there has been such a joy to work with. My daughter loves going to school, and lights up every time she sees her classmates and teachers. She's such bubbly baby, and I firmly believe the early socialization and amazing curriculum at MH has helped shape her into the independent and curious toddler we have today. Every time my kiddo has had a bump, scratch or fall (learning to walk is tricky), they've been so quick to call me and let me know. I've never had anything but a stellar experience with any of the MH staff. I appreciate the well-balanced lunch menus, the daily artwork, picture days, petting zoo events, robot concerts and all the things that make MH so so fun. When she was a little baby, having the MH app to see how many times she fed, how many diapers were changed and sleep schedule throughout the day kept this anxious mama sane. Sadly, COVID-19 has prevented her from seeing her friends and teachers in person, but we are excited for when it is safe to resume our normal MH schedule. My son was here for preschool and we had to leave because there wasn't enough room for siblings, however the experience here was five stars. And I'm someone hard to please. Couldn't be happier! Merryhill at Harbour Point feels like a family. The staff, parents and children are wonderful. We had changed schools when our son was 2 and right off the bat we noticed in difference in what he was learning and experiencing. At 4 my son talks about volcanoes, the statue of liberty and Vincent Van Gogh! Every single staff member truly cares about the students and seems to love their job. Lesson plans are thoughtfully put together and cover all the core subject areas. I love that we receive an email every day with pictures as well as a summary of what they did at school that day. When my son was ready for preschool, I asked around and everybody I seemed to encounter had their little ones at merryhill. This is our third year here and we absolutely love it. The teachers have all been great and are very attentive to my sons needs. The teachers give detailed updates on what they learned in class and even send you a picture of your child and a full update on what your child ate that day, how much, and also the duration of their nap time via email/app. After starting merryhill, my son has flourished socially and academically. I love Merryhill Schools! My son has been going here for the past two and a half years and he absolutely loves it! He started in the infant room, then moved to the toddler room and is now in Beginner room. We love the staff, the teachers and all of the families here. My son is only two and a half and he knows so much. He knows his ABC's, he can count to 20 in English & Spanish, knows so much Spanish words He enjoys circle time everyday with his teachers and friends. He really has learned so much and is so smart, thanks to Merryhill. He wakes up everyday and asks to go to school because he loves it! I appreciate everything the teachers do and how much love they give to my child every single day. I'm a single mom and to be honest, the tuition is a lot but honestly it is truly worth it. I LOVE this school! My daughter is currently in their infant room and the staff there has been nothing short of amazing and wonderful. My daughter started there when she was only 4 months old and it was very difficult for me to go back to work. I was feeling very nervous and anxious to be away from my daughter, but after seeing how fast she grew comfortable with the staff there - I knew I made the right choice. The teachers are very loving to all the children and they do a great job of listening to what I want for my child as a parent. My daughter is not only cared for, but she learns so much at the school. Even though she is very young, they work on many different skill sets that apply to my daughters age. The Principal and Assistant Principal are also wonderful. They have been so easy to work with. Merryhill Harbour Point is a great school for my 3yr old. He is learning so much from counting to letters, songs, group play, self-feeding and potty training. Ms. Martha and Ms. Taylor are the best, they are always so loving, caring and gentle around the kids. This is a great school that is very good at preparing a child for kindergarten. His art, writing, and math skills have continued to improve over the years and we do not believe that he should have any problem with kindergarten when he starts next year. Our 4 year old boy has been going there since he was 6 months and they have taken very good care of him and taught him well. He has never been injured or close to injured due to teacher inattention. If you love your kids please read. So just as I finally decide to give this school credit on YELP I have to now discredit them. I now have 2 kids that attend this school. My son is soon to be 3 years old and my daughter who 1 years old. On 8/11/16 I was dropping my kids off at about 8:05am. I put my sons food and drink on the table walked over to the other side of the room and put his stuff away. We can back over to the other side of the room with the teacher and kids I sat him down and started to count all the kids in the room. It was at least 12 with one teacher while other parents were coming in dropping off there kids also. Kids were crying some were sitting some where pushing (being normal kids) but there was so much going on the teacher couldn't send them a message on the iPad or call the front desk for help. There was another teacher that was suppose to be there to help at 8am and she was late which this wasn't her first time being late. With all that being said as I turned around holding my daughter about to go take her to her classroom my son runs around me out of the door and down the hall before I could grab him. I scream 2x for him to stop (as I'm running towards him) and for someone to stop him, thinking that another Parent would see a kid running and stop him or make sure they don't let him out of the front door. But instead we have a principal that was helping a grandparent get a kid signed in and not listening or paying attention to what's going on around her and we have a parent coming in the front door and opens up the door even wider to let the kid run out. But once I yell at the parent to grab that kid he then realizes that was my kid and he reaches out to grab my son as my son is stepping foot onto the parking lot. Keep in mind the parking lot was very busy at this time. So as I walk my son back into his classroom after I sit him back into his seat I look up and there is the principal still with this grandparent as if nothing just happened. So I leave my son in the room with the principal and teacher and go take my daughter into her classroom. I speak to the parent who grabbed my son and said I was sorry for yelling at them but I was upset because not one staff member helped and the principal just stood there. They said it's okay we understand. I go to the front where the principal is and I tell her I need to talk to her. We go into her office and she acted like oh well not her problem sort of attitude. She had an excuse as to why she didn't help which was, she was helping a grandparent sign a kid in but yet she said she did hear me screaming for my son until he was already out the front door. Yet she still didn't move from behind the counter to go towards my son. To me if you hear someone screaming at the top of there lungs in a school you need to stop what your doing because a kid could be in danger. I told her it just so happen that I was still in the room and seen my son running other wise my son would be outside down the street dead some where and she wouldn't have even know because she was unaware of what is going on in your classrooms as well as not even knowing what's going on in front of her. I can't pay this school so much money for them not to know what's going on with my kids while they are in there care. read more
