Old school...none of the modern glitz you get at places like Fat Cats, and you don't have to pay for glitz either; prices at Mesa East Bowl are literally half the price of fancy bowling alley/gaming centers. They have unlimited bowling on Friday and Saturday nights, and it's fairly cheap too. The staff is always kind, the wait isn't too long but I do recommend calling the day of to reserve a spot or you risk not getting a lane. They have a nice bar area with pool and darts as well, and it's just reminiscent of the old school bowling lanes. The food isn't half bad either, nothing fancy, but nothing terrible. read more

The only good thing about this place is the pro shop those guys are amazing and awesome but the rest of the staff or so rude for no reason. Guy at front desk is rude and lazy and favors some guests, everyone has to stand in line for 30 minutes to check in for cosmic bowl, (AFTER I called and was told check in was 9pm) In line from 9:15 until it opened at 9:30, line was out the door except two large families who chilled on the sidelines then walked straight up to the front of the line, rude guy waved them over for immediate check in! The hand sanitizers were all empty, the bathrooms are small, dirty, and outdated. Handicapped bathroom had no seat covers, no toilet paper, the front of the toilet paper holder was ripped off, MIA! The lights that run down the lanes are broken on half the lanes. The bartender with RBF is rude, acts like she hates her job, does not acknowledge people in line, out right ignores people because shes too busy talking to the 2 people sitting at the bar. Been coming here for years with family and friends, birthday parties, work events, pretty much for any reason to come bowl and have some fun. Management has been pretty awesome! Very understanding! Very helpful! Amazing hospitality at this bowling alley up until recently. I know it's the new year, which means new goals, new purchases, and new people etc. What I wasn't expecting was new attitudes.... This place was great until I ran into this person with blonde streaks in her, fake eyelashes, and a TERRIBLE ATTITUDE. Didn't give anything but respect in the conversation with her, but our request was very simple in regard to the game. All I wanted was names switched over between 2 lanes because the keyboard wouldn't let us switch it ourselves. I think 4 of us came up and asked about it and was told NO! each and every time. So in the sense of ( what the hell?) we're paying x amount for bowling, the shoes, food and drinks, and alcohol, but we can't switch some names up? So I went on my phone and typed it all up for her, knowing we were already told no, I go to the counter and ask, again told no we can't do that. I took a breathe and handed her my phone with it all typed up, given so much grief, shaking her head the whole time, and having an unexpected attitude she finally made our request happen. I get being frustrated being its a lot of people that come in here, working a long shift believe me I work 10-12 hour shifts for my job, but I most certainly do not have any sort of attitude with anyone. I felt very disrespected for me and my family. We will be returning because this is our favorite bowling alley, but that said person needs to be put in check, or fired because attitude your whole shift is unexceptional. read more

Decent bowling alley near Apache Junction. It's not as fancy as other places, but it has everything you need. They have food, a bar area, and obviously bowling. It's a decent bowling alley to where on a normal day there will be a few lanes open, the only time they're full is when there's a league going on. Absolutely horrible! Came to this location to watch family in bowling league at 9am. The bowling league had already been bowling for an hour on a Thursday When entering Saw signs for no outside food or drinks. Returned my polar pop and snack size chip bag. back in the car. Came in and saw over a dozen people have outside food and drinks. So didn't feel it would be an issue. I went and retrieved my snack and drink. And brought in my daughter small drink as well. Used the bar entrance since it cut half the time to my table made sure to sit at table not around bowling area. After a few minutes of sitting at the table enjoying my drink. Had a woman identified herself as the "GM" (heavy set woman with red hair) run from the main entrance to where I was sitting at the last table. Grabbed everyone's attention that were in the middle of bowling...screams at me and my family that I need to remove my snack.(small bag of chips) I showed her every person around me has brought in an outside snack and drink. The bowlers have been bowling since 8. She instructed me that I need remove the drink or throw it away. Now! The woman stormed off *Wow! Not a single person was told they couldn't have a drink or snack. * I went to ask why I was being singled out and attacked. Overheard "GM" telling employees that we need to be removed. This location is unprofessional. And rude. I ended up leaving. After being embarrassed for being singled out and having bowler's distracted. Definitely won't be returning. And will be contacting proper management. read more

What a good time!! We (3 of us. 2 adults and a kid) came in to play on a Sunday evening. It was packed! Only 4 lanes left. I didn't ask around but from the looks of things Sunday is the day for the league bowlers. I even saw 2 little league bowlers next to us. It's a little different here, you pay for your shoes before bowling and you pay for the games you played at the end. Cool. I can dig it! This is an old fashioned bowling alley. Typical extremely greasy food. I would say eat before you get there if you can. We ordered a cheese pizza, the appetizer trio and the cheese crisps. The pizza is a frozen food isle pizza, the kid liked it of course . You get to choose 3 items on the appetizer trio. We chose fried zucchini sticks, onions rings and mozzarella sticks. The batter on everything taste great but man, it was all soooooo greasy. On the menu the cheese crisps sounds like it would be similar to a cheese quesadilla. Well, it's actually a flour tortilla with LOTS of shredded cheese melted on it. That's it! Skip the food! The bar area is off limits to kids. I like that. That's also where the pool tables are. The drinks are stiff and reasonably priced. I paid $6 for a crown on the rocks with a splash of ginger. Erica was the bartender. She's great! I'll be returning for happy hour and to shoot a little pool. read more

Brought my 4 year old daughter in to bowl on 9/20/23. Was having a great time until my daughter wanted to try to bowl without the ramp on her 8th out of 10 turns. The ball gets stuck in the lane because she's not as strong (she's literally 4). And this rude old lady in a purple polo with short hair and glasses comes over and says "does she have a ramp?" I tell her yes but my daughter wanted to try her last few turns without the ramp. she then says "well she's gonna have to because we're not gonna do this all night" as in grabbing the stranded bowling ball. But seriously? That's how you talk to paying customers? I thought that was very rude and unprofessional at her big ole age, do better hagetha! read more

Update! I went to the Mesa East Bowl with my daughter and grand daughter, they had a blast! We all ordered food while we were there and the food was great! We had mini pizza, double hamburger, French fries, fried mushrooms, and fresh pretzels, all were delicious. The place is a great place for food and fun! Go there, and enjoy! read more

Their covid precautions are a joke if you want to feel safe don't come here. Masks aren't enforced and social distancing isn't either, despite the signs, especially if you come during leagues. I walked in and then walked right back out. no one was wearing a mask or social distancing in the leagues, that take up over half of the lanes there. I think I saw 2 lanes that were following the covid precautions but they weren't part of the leagues. read more

I came here for a birthday and the service was horrible all the way around. It is an old bowling alley which is kinda cool and makes you feel like a kid. The older man that works at the counter is rude and doesn't lime to help anyone. I asked for a different pair of shoes and he rolled his eyes at me. The food is obviously short staffed and the lady taking orders was freaking out from too many orders. It is also unclear where you order from. (On the bar side in case you want to know). We got a salad and a cheese crisp. Salad was good, cheese crisp not so much. No problems with the bar. I had a good time overall. read more

The staff at Mesa East Bowl is super friendly. From the front desk to the grill, every employee treats you as though you're family or like you have been there a thousand times. I am a casual open bowler but feel as though I am one of the "regulars". The house is very clean, the setee areas are spotless and the lanes are well kept. The food at the grill is top notch! Came here with my family to bowl and after spending $22 just on shoes for everyone we are told to go to a lane crammed in the same tiny space as another family. Lanes 15-1 were still open. Best bowling alley ever, will only be coming back to this bowling alley exclusively. The staff are the friendliest I've ever met, The food is absolutely delicious 100% beef pattie's. They actually have real chicken for chicken tenders. Surprisingly this has been around for 38 years I can't believe I'm just finding out about this place, definitely worth the drive if you're in Phoenix to go to this place. I am giving East Mesa Bowl a 5 Star rating due to being a great place to bring family and friends for fun and at a affordable price. Also, because Yelp is a piece of shit platform that will forcibly show negative reviews and mark good reviews as "not recommended" simply due to not getting paid to do so. I live less than two miles away and Bowl here regularly. If you have left a bad review here, you need to start your own business and see just how much Yelp will screw you unless they get some of your money. No wonder Mesa East Bowl has not claimed this business. I signed up with Yelp for my business and more than half of my customers reviews are listed and not recommended but the only two bad reviews are constantly posted at the top. We waited for a lane and when someone they knew came in, they give the open lane to them and said screw those that have been waiting. Then they tried to say they weren't their friends. Mesa East is a great place to bowl a few games with family and friends! We have been here several times because it's just a down to earth good time. The atmosphere is friendly and casual, the staff is so nice and helpful - at the front desk, at the snack bar, and in the pro shop - and the Parmesan fries are our favorite snack! They really work hard to keep the place clean, too. We are very comfortable coming to Mesa East during this covid period - in fact, it's been a nice break from having to be stuck in the house now that businesses are opening back up. read more

Love this place!!! Old school bowling alley like I remember when I was growing up. Older but clean. Also, the staff there is absolutely AMAZING!!! So friendly and helpful. Went there about 2 weeks ago for my daughters small Birthday party. I called ahead of time and didn't think we had enough people to justify their party package. I declined but asked if I could bring a Birthday cake in during "normal bowl". They said that would be fine. When we got there the day of the party, the sweetest lady from behind the food counter area asked if she could put our cake in the fridge while we bowled. (How nice of her considering we never book the party package with them). We ordered sodas and pizza. All was good. Then when we went to get the cake, she asked if we needed plates and utensils. WOW!!! Super helpful!!!! I did being my own plates, napkins and forks but forgot the knife to cut the cake. Guess who gave me a knife to got this done? The sweetest lady working the food court/concession. They made our small party a HUGE success and I will continue to frequent here. Great People, Great Enviroment and personally i think the best lanes that i have bowled in AZ so far. Living in East Mesa/ Apache Junction Area there really isn't many bars to choose from this place is a diamond in the rough! Really beats driving to Tempe and the prices are better and drinks are better. Grey Goose Martini here is the best in town! Best part i have never had to deal with drama whatsoever here unlike college bars. Everyone that comes is here for the same reason to have a good time. This is my regular spot. read more
