We went on a Sunday evening and…read moretook advantage of their deal--if you eat at the restaurant, you get access to the surf park for free. For two adults and two kids plus dinner, our total came out to around $60, which felt like a really good value. The kids had an absolute blast playing in the surf and sand, and it was such an easy, laid-back way to spend the evening. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and there was plenty of parking, which made everything super convenient. Definitely a solid family spot.

As we were looking for the entrance, we noticed there was still a lot of construction going on, sand everywhere, and not fully done yet. Besides the wave pool and surf lagoon, they also have a diving pool, sand volleyball court, and seating areas in the sand. One thing we noticed, though, was that there were only about three lifeguards for the whole area when we were there. The luxury cabanas are located right next to the construction zone, so I'd probably wait until everything is done before renting one. At the entrance, that's where you can get beach passes for the River Wave and Surf Lagoon, rent cabanas, and also the restaurant. We got a table on the patio with a view of the wave pool, which was a nice spot to relax. We ordered wings, fries, and a couple of cocktails, perfect for chilling before dinner. I loved my cocktail; the color was so beautiful. We'll probably wait until construction is done before coming back.

This place is BEAUTIFUL. I want to like it and not be ungrateful…read more I signed up exclusively for basketball. There's 3 courts and plenty of space. First two times I arrived all 3 were blocked off for various other rec things. I go in today and one court is blocked off for PICKLEBALL. YES, they have an empty Pickleball court and lifted the hoops even though there's 30 pickleball courts outside. The 2nd court had 5 year old kids training with coaches. The 3rd court has Seniors fitness day even though we have multiple patios, an upstairs section, an actual gym that hardly gets used and an outdoor pool area. What's the point in 3 courts if they are the least allowed to be used? Their first gym floor was improperly installed and they just had the entire gym closed for about 6 weeks. I was excited to come back and play on better floors. I get there and the SAME EXACT floors were installed... the wrong floor type and the panels were installed in the wrong orientation AGAIN! lady at the front desk even mentioned it to me. They never put a clear coat over the top of the floor and they used basic sticker tape on top of the floors to create their basketball outline again. You can use your fingernails and feel the lifted exposed tape. THIS IS GOING TO CAUSE ANKLE INJURIES IN THE FUTURE!!! You cannot have exposed, lift tape as people are sliding and stopping on them. I dove for a ball on day 1 and ripped a 6 inch hole on my hip because the floor is like concrete with no surface coating that allows forgiveness. Absolutely disappointing week 1. I go to the gym. It's low energy and the music is sooo low you can't even hear the lyrics. PUMP IT UP!!! Feels like a quiet retirement center at the moment. I'm going to consider ending my membership after the first month if they keep blocking off the courts. I will adjust my rating if they continue to make this place better. I am not a complainer but when you install the wrong floors twice and make it unplayable... you're going to lose the basketball community. (Fingers crossed) EDIT: Soooooo. I jumped through their hoops and scheduled time off to fit into their slim schedule to make their Open Gym on Wednesday night. I walk in and one court has half the court blocked off with an empty PICKLEBALL court AGAIN!!!! The other court was blocked off with some skills challenge. THEY BLOCKED OFF TWO COURTS TO PUT TWO RANDOM GAMES THAT WAS NOT BEING USED INSTEAD OF PUTTING THE SKILLS CHALLENGE AND THE PICKBALL COURT ON THE SAME COURT TO FREE UP AN ENTIRE BASKETBALL COURT!!!! How incompetent can management be???!!! It doesn't matter how beautiful the facility is if there's no common sense to what your community wants. We had 14 of us asking them to move the skills challenge to the basketball/pickleball court so we can play. Nope... we all have to sit there and follow bad rules and watch two half courts not being used. These tactics is EXACTLY why Legacy Sports Complex down the street wasn't successful. Another beautiful facility ran by incompetent middle management people who have zero clue about sports. I don't like speaking about people like this. But they're deserving to be scolded after non stop negligence. People on FB were complaining too and their friends didn't come out after they found out we couldn't play AGAIN! Absolutely wild. It's been one week and I'm already debating on canceling. How much money is this facility loosing in opportunity costs because of this? Lowed my rating another star again. I will raise my star rating if someone improves the common sense at this place.

I visited Great Wolf Lodge on 05/04/2026 from 11am to 7:30pm with my whole class for a fun field…read moretrip, and it ended up being such a great day. I hadn't been to this specific location before, but I've gone to the Garden Grove one many times. One thing I noticed right away was that this one felt a bit smaller--just a couple fewer slides and a little less space overall--but it didn't take away from the experience. We arrived around 10:45am, and my teacher grabbed our wristbands in about five minutes, which was awesome, especially since it seemed kind of busy. By 11, we had our stuff set down and headed into the indoor water park. The first thing I did was the white group raft slide (fits about 2-5 people), and it was such a fun way to kick off the day. Of course, I had to try the red group raft next too. After that, my friends and I spent a couple hours going between the wave pool and the lazy river, which never got old. By 1pm, we were ready for lunch. I brought my own food, but I couldn't resist getting dessert after--a double scoop of ice cream from the creamery (cookie dough and mint chip). It was honestly amazing and easily one of the best resort ice creams I've had. After lunch, we went back to the slides and lazy river again. Luckily, my mom had signed the permission slip for me to stay an extra six hours--best decision ever. Around 3:30pm, I started exploring more on my own and tried the solo slides. Just like the group ones, there were red and white versions, but flipped in terms of intensity. The white one was definitely more fun, and I loved the small drop right before the end. My absolute favorite, though, was the red group slide. It starts like a normal twisty slide, then slows down before dropping you a few feet and swinging you side to side--it had all of us laughing nonstop, especially when my friend accidentally bounced up in the air. Around 6:15pm, we grabbed dinner. I got two slices of pepperoni pizza, a Pepsi, and a cookie. The pizza was actually better than I expected, and the cookie--an Otis Spunkmeyer--was so good. Definitely something I'd get again. After eating, I relaxed in the hot tub around 6:45pm. It wasn't too hot, which I actually liked because super hot water can make me dizzy. We left at 7:30pm, and honestly, I was surprised how fast the day flew by. I thought I might get bored after a few hours, but I stayed entertained the entire time. I can definitely see myself coming back here with my family soon. Great Wolf Lodge is AWESOME!

The biggest issue for us was the constant extra charges. Not only was there a $100 deposit required…read moreper night, but we also had to pay separately for parking. By the end of our stay, we had well over $100 in taxes and additional fees alone, including taxes on parking and amusements. It felt like absolutely everything came with an extra price tag, despite already paying premium resort prices. Unfortunately, the experience itself didn't justify the cost. Two attractions at the waterpark were shut down for most of the second day of our stay, which was disappointing considering how expensive everything already was. We also witnessed several kids getting injured in the wave pool area, which raised serious concerns about safety and supervision. In addition, many of the lifeguards seemed far more focused on chatting with each other about personal matters than paying close attention to ride cycles and guest safety. Lifeguards are there to protect guests, remain alert, and operate rides safely -- not socialize while attractions are running. Another issue was the lack of rule enforcement throughout the waterpark. We repeatedly saw both adults and children running in areas where running clearly shouldn't be allowed, yet staff rarely stepped in. Attractions like the lazy river also became unenjoyable because so many kids were swimming through it instead of using tubes and following the intended flow of the attraction. It made the experience feel chaotic rather than relaxing. We also chose not to eat at the resort after reading numerous Yelp, Google, and other reviews mentioning the high food prices and lack of healthy, filling, and sustaining meal options. Considering how expensive the resort already was, it was disappointing to feel like dining onsite would just add even more unnecessary costs for mediocre food choices. On top of that, we were woken up at 4 a.m. the first night by what sounded like a loudspeaker blasting tones, and then on checkout day there was a fire drill at 9 a.m., so we couldn't even enjoy the full checkout time until 11 a.m. We did have some fun, but overall the value just wasn't there for us. Honestly, I'd rather spend the money at Disney, where I feel like you get much more for the price. Parking and several of the attractions should absolutely be included at these rates. Sadly, we won't be returning.

The weather was perfect but it would be a lot to eat in the car during the hot summer. I feel like there was a lot of variety of things to do for the age difference of my kids. My main issue was with the flooring of the entire park. I'd like to see them do something to make the sidewalk more comfortable for the 99% of people who are walking around barefoot. All of our feet hurt from walking around on the really hard concrete. I guess I'd recommend you wear water shoes if you have them. We used a Get Out Pass and the whole process was seamless. It's worth getting because just a trip to Sunsplash is pretty much the same price as a Get Out Pass and you get so much out of it. I don't know if I'd go again because the cost is pretty high.
