Great facility!…read more Chandler is the other side of the Valley from me, but since this year's Tri For The Cure took place at Arrowhead Pool and Park, I was able to check it out today for the event. I loved that it was so easy to get to (just over a mile off of the 101 from the Chandler Blvd exit)... The pool has 8 lanes that are 50 meters in length plus the deep end/diving area (seen in the photo). The facility has plenty of restrooms, changing rooms, etc... and it's located right in the middle of the beautiful Arrowhead Park - it was a fantastic venue for the Triathlon. Despite the event running an hour and a half behind schedule, it was a ton of fun and ran smoothly once we started. We enjoyed watching the youth event - it's amazing how many kids participated! They were so cute! I recommend both the event as well as this facility depending on your goals and where in the Valley you live. Thanks to the City of Chandler for hosting this amazing event, and for all of the volunteers that helped out along the way! Congrats to all of those that competed today as well!

I never knew it was there until I did a search on yelp & the internet for swimming pools. Secondly, this place is HUGE and NOT crowded! Two entirely seperate swimming areas! One for the kids, with zero level entry, a water slide and a lazy river. The "adult" side of the pool is entirely seperate, and Olympic sized! Holy Moly! Diving boards, swimming lanes, a basketball hoop and TONS of room to move around in. This place, for once, has ample seating! Tons of chairs! Never a problem to find a place to lay out here! Covered seating is also available as well. Locker rooms are large and plentiful, with lots of toilets, showers, changing areas and lockers for 25 cents. I will go out of my way to swim here. $2.25 for adults, and kids are much less. Go check this place out!

Having only been to one of the Mesa community pools-slash-aquatic centers, I can't really judge…read morethis against anything else. So I can only relate my experience here and let it stand for itself. This is a former junior high, turned into a recreation complex. The pool itself is really three pools--one is the kiddie section with a sloped beach entrance and a tower with buckets that fill up and dump out water sporadically. There's a small slide for the wee ones, in the shape of a frog. The kidlets slide down the frog's tongue and giggle and squeal. Then at the other end is the diving area. Two lower diving boards and a high dive. Not so high, but high enough that every so often a kid will get up there and wuss out. I've done it once as a 10-year-old, so no judgments from me. The other pool is the landing area for the waterslides. Two small ones--big enough that there are height restrictions, but not like a waterpark kind of slide. Just enough that the younguns will have something to break up the simple pool bobbing. There are a few lap swim lanes, and there are bleachers on the north side with shade, so I'm guessing there are probably swim meets here? Then you've got one big pavilion with cement and a large umbrella with grass. Pull your chairs in and hunker down. There's also a small area with tables for your snack needs. The facility is nice. The pool is nice. The bathrooms/changing rooms area little nappy--but that's their design. Concrete floor and a trough of dribbles and drips under the urinals. Other than that, the lobby serves its purpose and is indeed air conditioned.

There are so many places to hang out and rest, and the pool goes pretty deep for people that like to dive (like me)! The only problem (from what I've hears) would be that we are not allowed to bring any coolers for our snacks--only small lunchboxes. We decided to start bringing our 2 year old to swim lessons and this was a great spot to choose…read more Our little guy was very apprehensive about getting in the water and would cling on to me for the first couple lessons, but the instructors at Hubbard are so sweet and supportive and helped talk me through how to make my toddler feel more comfortable in the water. My kid was the one who cried the whole lesson for several of the lessons and at times I wondered if I had made a mistake to sign him up for swim lessons when he was so miserable, but the instructors encouraged us to stick with it. Sure enough, I think my kiddo is finally turning a corner and starting to enjoy the lessons more (and protest less). I even heard a few "this is fun!" statements from him too!
