This place has amazing wings. I got the hot sauce, and it was just the right amount of spicy. Their cheese fries were great too. Last night was officially me last visit to the Mosquito Grille. We were sat upstairs and had dinner with swarms of fruit flies. They were literally landing on my dinner. If you've ever worked in a restaurant you would know that fruit flies exists because they do a poor job cleaning the restaurant. Bathrooms were disgusting and yes, more flies. I shared this disappointing experience with the hostess who informed me she knew about the issue and has asked management to fix it. There was no discount offered to the bill as a result of the poor experience. I would give zero stars if I could. This place used to be a great hang out. Now it's a dive bar. The food was alright. The best part of the meal was the mussels, they were delicious. The bbq was just alright. The ribs were a little tough and more chewy then i would have liked. The brisket was sliced super thin. I'm used to a nice thick slice of brisket. Also got to taste the pulled chicken which was decent. From a sides perspective, the mac and cheese and baked beans were good. Knowing that PA isn't a bbq mecca i would say the food is acceptable but would not put it anywhere near the top of the list. I wish this place was closer to me all though my liver is thankful it's not. There is two reasons to go to Mesquito Grille. 1.) Wings 2.) Beer. The rest of the menu can be hit or miss. The service is good but expect a wait on the weekend as there are not to many tables. There are two bars a relic from when smoking was allowed in restaurants. The beer list is huge and the taps are ever changing. The bartenders cal tell you what's just been tapped and what's new. Plenty of 22oz bottles as well and they do have take out beer as well. The wings themselves are a good size and the sauces are great. I'm partial to the garlic parmesan. There are a few TV's to watch the game in the bars but not a lot. If you are a beer geek bring a DD or take the beer home as it's easy to put back a few strong brews here and quickly become buzzed. read more

I went with my wife and parents for early Sunday Dinner. Most of the food was VERY good. Their chili - I never thought I'd enjoy real steak in chili (never trust restaurants with steak in things because sometimes it's chewy). but their Chili was some of the best I've had. The loaded nachos with chili - a definate buy. The General Tso's flavored chicken wings - very good. A really interesting take on an asian favorite. My wife got Hot wings - dry with sauce on the side. They were absolutely cooked perfectly cripsy and their hot sauce on the side was amazing. I was definately impressed. Their fries were good. Only thing I didn't think was amazing was the chicken Caesar salad. The chicken was sliced thinly but a little on the dry side. Very edible just not juicy. This place lost our order and made us wait for nearly 1 hour before they told us they lost it. Under normal circumstances I would accept this as something that happens when restaurants are busy, but you see in this case, no one was there. There was no one else in our dining area. Then the waiter said he was going to charge us for the gumbo we ordered for an appetizer, but then he couldn't because the computer wasn't working. SERIOUSLY guys, are you are business that serves food to customers? What happened? You guys need to get it together or shut down. I have been here countless times and it seems to be getting worse and worse. Like other reviewers have stated, there is no sense of being welcome here. There is never a smile or even a genuine hello. The wait staff is ok, but can be very indifferent. Our waitress last night ended up spending more time on her cell phone so a waiter from another table helped us with greater frequency. To further the problems, the food is slow to get to you and mediocre at best. With the heavy young kid traffic(with inattentive parents) this has become nothing more than a glorified Applebee's. My experiences at this restaurant have been interesting to say the least. I've been coming here for about 2 years and it's one of the restaurants that I frequent the most which is why I hate to give them a 2 star rating. Honestly one of the things that prompted me to join yelp was to write a review about this place somewhere that they might see it. I'll start out by saying that the wings are unbelievable! Hands down the best you'll find around and the rest of the food is usually great as well. The atmosphere is awesome too, laid back and great to watch sports. Now you're probably wondering about the 2 star rating and that is due to the horrendous service. The waiters are rude and make it very clear they don't care about their job. And the food runners are not interested in accommodating you in anyway. I asked one for a side of sour cream and he rolled his eyes and never came back. After the first few months I came here I began sitting at the bar because I could not take it anymore. I finally decided to give it another shot about a year ago and we got this really nice young waiter named Dan. The guy was awesome and hands down the best service I had ever received, and not just at Mesquito Grille but anywhere. To start out he always had a smile on his face which is something the other waiters desperately need, very nice guy. More importantly he knew exactly what he was doing, very knowledgeable about the food and beer menu, and as accommodating as it gets. Not to mention fast, I'd watch him take 3 tables orders and be back with the drinks in 2 minutes and have the food up in 10! It was great, to say the least he was on top of it. I began requesting to sit in his section every single time I'd go in because he was always there and every single time the service was awesome.. I started coming in pretty frequently and would often bring my family along with me. I booked our family parties there a few times and he was great with kids and still unbelievably fast. As of recent months every time I'd go in he was never there. I would always be told he wasn't working so during one of my more recent visits when I was annoyed due to the service I finally inquired as to if he still works there and was informed he had been let go, I was very disappointed. Unfortunately now I've been again reduced to sitting at the bar or found myself avoiding it altogether. Every other waiter I've had has either been rude, too slow, too lackadaisical, or a combination of all three. The management here really needs to put a priority on fixing this problem because it really is such a shame, the food is great and it's a great place to go and relax. To sum it up, Mesquito grille PLEASE, for your sake and mine, either immediately bring back the only good waiter you had, or b. clean house and get employees who want to do their job!!!!! read more

My significant other and I have had the pleasure of eating at Mesquito Grille on a couple occasions and I cannot express how nice it is to have an above average BBQ place in Doylestown. However, I cannot say the same about the front counter service. This young lady was more interested in making out with her boyfriend than helping out customers. As we were already checked in, I was able to watch her interaction with fellow patrons and was appalled. Her boyfriend blocked the front counter initially then moved slightly to side to allow PAYING customers to inquire about a table which she blatantly ignored to walk him outside. I have seen her been rude, ignore customers, roll her eyes and be the opposite of what any respectable hostess should be. I believe this place would be a 4 or 5 star if it wasn't for this particular employee read more

Beers are tasty... but they're tasty anywhere... Their wings used to be... let me say that again... used to be good. Their salads and tex mex dishes are tasty. The only time it's worth not taking out is if you're on the balcony or in the 3 boothed 'English' style pub where they always have a soccer or rugby match on. We have been to the Mesquito Grille MANY times. The service is very inconsistent. Today when we called to place a take-out order the girl on the phone was rude and dismissive. Despite her frightful communication skills we proceeded to place an order (as it was my husband's birthday). We were told the meal would be ready in 30 minutes. As directed we walked in the restaurant after our given 30 minute wait time. The same rude attitude was at the register and when given our name she sat at the counter and didn't even move to retrieve our order. We waited patiently for another 20 minutes before she checked on our order. When she reappeared she informed us that the kitchen misread the time and thought it said 2:50 not 12:50! She did not even apologize. We decided to ask for our money back. With the same blank stare and disrespectful tone she refunded our debit card. Even after we said how disappointed we were and that we were tired of their mistakes she never offered an apology. We were treated with disrespect and disregard from the moment we called to the moment we walked out the door. I guess our money isn't good enough which won't be a problem for the Mesquito Grille again! We are high tippers and are always understanding of wait staff as we have been servers. This was inexcusable and happens far too often at the Mesquito Grille in Doylestown. Shame! read more

The food is good; however, service and execution lack. Every time my family and I order, something is wrong. More than 70% of the time we order, something is completely wrong and give us something we didn't ask for, or they forget something. For example, I ordered a Bar-b-que chicken wrap and instead received a sandwich which is so far from a wrap. It completely overshadows the good food they have and it's sad. read more

Much improved of late. Pub grub is good, and they really manage their draft beer selection well--- always something to like. The upstairs patio can be a slice of heaven on a nice breezy day. The gumbo is surprisingly good and authentic, with a nice bit of heat to it. The "insane" wing sauce is more like "somewhat disturbed," quite nice for someone who likes spicy stuff. I keep getting burned here. I love the beer selection and like the wings. The staff is very friendly and although the service is at times slow, the place is busy so I get it. Anything I eat there is merely average. There is also a flavor that is found in EVERY dish. Its as if before anything is prepared or leaves the kitchen it gets the "flavor". I had the pork tacos and they were bland and dry. It needed a sauce or something to give it some life. From now on, no more meals here, just beer and wings. read more

Went for lunch on 4/6/12, and hit the wing menu. Great wings! They were cooked just right, and the size was spot on. I did the 20 wing lunch special, doing half Parm garlic/ half honey BBQ, with insane and BBQ smoked chipolte sauces on the side. No worries, I took 10 home. My boyfriend and I will sometimes make a special trip to come here -- it's a good 45 minutes on the train from where I live -- because the wings are really good and so is the beer selection. It's also very pleasant to sit on the upstairs deck on a summer evening, with the trees and lighted windows all around. But I agree with the poster from CA -- the service here is weird and it should be addressed by management. The hostesses have a funky attitude and twice we've been treated very rudely by the entire waitstaff, who don't mind showing their irritation at anyone daring to stay till within a half hour of closing. Um, it's a bar. If you want to be at home tucked up in bed before 11pm look into a different line of work. On one occasion the busboy was totally stoned and acting accordingly paranoid and inappropriate. It's a shame because it's in a lovely location and the general feeling of the place is chill. I was very pleased with my visit to Mesquito Grille. Two weeks ago I came up to Doylestown to catch up with friends before the chaos of the holidays ensued. We found ourselves making way into Mesquito Grille for lunch. It was a Saturday early afternoon and We sat up stairs in the "Eastwood Room" which featured Clint Eastwood inspired memorabilia and a very large tv!! (The sports fans in our group were thrilled.) As we got settled in we immediately began to be in awe over all the possible wing choices. Our waitress approached us with a very cheery smile on and was a great aid to help us come to a decision. She was very excited to help us. Although Mesquito Grille does not have a beer sample list, she was very quick with her beer knowledge of the extensive draft list and allowed us sample a few before we agreed on a pitcher (which turned into several). On the food front, we ended up with the Spicy Garlic wings, Spicy Honey BBQ, Smoked Chipotle, and Sesame Terrayki. To come to a conclusion we were very satisfied. The Spicy Garlic wings left a memorable taste in my mouth, we were all raving about them. Group Favorite!!! I must say upon my next visit to Doylestown I will be making a stop at Mesquito Grille, the rest of the money besides the wings looked awesome. The filet sand which and the pulled pork really caught my eye. Overall, the wings were out of this world!!!! The beer list is awesome and the waitress let us know it is ever changing and we feature a lot of great seasonal beer finds both on draft and in bottles..so when you find one you like..you can most likely go down to the front of the restaurant and grab one from their take out selection. The restaurant was very clean and the Eastwood Room had great lighting. The service was as good as it gets. Our waitress was attentive and truly wanted us to have a great experience, the bus boys were a pleasure and worked around us even though we were a little bit messy!
