    Best piercers in SD

First timer, visiting from San Francisco and this place was amazing. It was super clean, the workers were professional but still made the environment fun and light hearted by cracking some jokes. You can tell they know what they're doing. My nose piercing looks awesome and they were super patient and understanding with me taking so long to decide on placement. I'm so glad I found a place to go to whenever I'm in SD.

I got a double ear piercing and the spacing and placement is perfect!

Dawson is always professional and friendly! He takes the time to make sure everything is perfect and keeps you informed about how to manage your piercing as well as what kind of jewelry is good. The store itself is clean and welcoming, and you can tell that the people there care about giving you a safe, fun and easy experience. If you want anything from simple lobes or nose piercings to more complex or unusual work, this is the spot!

Amazing experience today with Dawson! He pierced mine, my daughter, and her friends ears. He was so patient and kind to all of us but made the kids feel super comfortable. He explained everything that was happening and was especially meticulous with placement. Thank you Dawson for everything.

New septum piercing by Parker at Embellish PB
    Eden L.

This review is to highlight Parker, who is an incredible person an piercer. I spontaneously and impulsively wanted to get my septum done. Regardless of impulsivity, I always do my research before modifying my body. That's how I found Parker at Embellish. Parker helped me make a last minute appointment and worked with my schedule. He was incredibly patient and informative and answered my ridiculous amount of questions before I even came into the shop. When I arrived, I had the normal pre-piercing anxiety and Parker not only talked me through the entire process but reassured me the whole time. He takes genuine pride in his practice and you can tell with how he measure everything out before the piercing to ensure perfection. After piercing me, he even helped me loosen the balls on a piercing I got elsewhere, and offered to order me jewelry for it that I was struggling to find myself. He also gave me saline for the healing process and encouraged me to follow up if I had any questions or concerns. It was such a pleasant experience it made me want more piercings LOL. Parker, I cannot thank you enough for your kindness, patient, and talent at your craft. I look forward to working with you in the future.

I did it! I finally got the one piercing I've been dreading for YEARS to get...My n*pples (censoring because I am not entirely sure what Yelp's policy is on that, lol). The scheduling process is as simple as 1, 2, 3. Their online scheduling platform was straightforward - you pick a date and time slot, and there's a (n optional) comment box where you can input what piercing you'll be getting. Their system also emailed me and texted me prior, and on the day of, my appointment. I had been so anxious leading up to my appointment; albeit, it wasn't helping that I was looking up videos and reading about it/the pain non-stop LOL. The day finally came (today). Fiancé drove us and knowing PB's non-parking-friendly situation, we arrived a minute or two after my scheduled time. Surely, I'd still get seen within 10-15 minutes, right? Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. When my fiancé and I arrived, a posse of young ladies filled their lobby's couch, and another group of ladies were already ahead of me. My heart sank because this means I had to wait and my appointment time wouldn't be honored. We waited over an hour until I was finally seen. This is the reason why I took a star off! Another reason for the -1 star is the discrepancy between the piercer I scheduled with (Steve). In hindsight, this wasn't such a big deal as the piercer that took care of me was fantastic (Ronnie)! I was finally taken to the back room where Ronnie asked me to undress. ***NOTE: IF YOU ARE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH BEING TOPLESS AROUND STRANGERS, THIS PIERCING MIGHT NOT BE FOR YOU.*** I stood in front of him while he marked my n*pples with a marker. My left one proved somewhat tricky, but the right was a breeze. Once both n*ps were marked to Ronnie's satisfactory, I laid down on the piercing(? lol) table... Ronnie had assured me that the piercing would be "quick," like "a pinch." Alas, that's what all the forums and reviews I read all said! I asked Ronnie a few questions, with my main one being if a clamp will be used. He said that the clamp would make the pain worse, so this was all freehand. I didn't care as much that my bare chest was exposed...I was way in my head, counting down when the actual procedure would take place and bracing myself for the pain. Ronnie instructed that I would feel the needle rough in and touch my n*pples but that it wouldn't be the actual piercing...AND THEN..he would pierce... I began to calmly and slowly breathe...The left was the first to go....it was over in a few seconds: between the initial needle touching, the actual piercing, then the jewelry going in... My right one hurt just a bit more than the left, but this is also expected. To my pleasant surprise, the piercing was a 6/10 in terms of pain. My tongue and conch were way more painful (on the 8-9 scale), but....!!! LITERALLY EVERYONE AND THEIR BODIES AND PAIN TOLERANCE will be different. The pain is similar to a nipple twister...but 10x worse (or more). It didn't really feel like I was getting stabbed...? Lol. My fiancé was also in the room the entire time. Holding his hand and listening to his voice helped a lot! Ronnie also helped me feel safe and comfortable, and, according to my fiancé who saw everything--Ronnie was steady, precise, fast, smooth, and professional. I 100% attribute the surprisingly minimal (SUBJECTIVE. Again---everyone's tolerance will be different) pain to Ronnie's technique. I paid almost $150 for the piercing and jewelry with tip. Ronnie did discount my piercing due to my wait time, which I highly appreciated. Before I left, they gave me a saline/cleaning solution, and was told that I can swap out the jewelry at least after a month. I initially wanted to go to another reputable piercing shop (where I had gotten a lot of my piercings from), but I did not like the recent reviews I read...So I ended up in Embellish PB, and I am very happy that I ended up here instead. I felt that I was in good hands with Ronnie. He also encouraged me to reach out to him directly for any issues or questions with the piercing. I could tell he cares about his work and clients! It is an understatement to say how much I LOVE my n*pple piercing. The fleeting pain was well worth it. ***NOTE: They will burn immediately after they're pierced, so I suggest you wear a cute and comfy bralette or sports bra for after your piercing. DO YOUR RESEARCH!*** I am super excited to come back to get cute jewelry for my n*pples and likely picking up a new trinket for my tongue ring as well! I would post a pic of my n*ps, but don't think Yelp's policy will allow me ;) Just know that it's SEXY AF. Thank you again, Ronnie! LADIES AND GENTS--get ya piercing on here!

    Diana Y.

Still a great experience. The only problem I had was with jewelry. It wasn't screw on flat backs. They clicked in. My daughters front piece first came off a couple days after piercing. We found it, and put it back in but after that it seemed to pop off easily. My conch popped off when I bumped my ear on an airplane and the back fell off too. Still 5 stars but not sure if I could have asked for screw on jewelry or if it's all they have.

    Olivia J.

This place has 5 stars for a reason!! This was my second time here to get my nostril re-pierced as the hole had closed, and my experience was great -- to be honest, I don't know if I'll ever go somewhere else again! Ronnie was my piercer (as I had no preference) and everything was easy/convenient. -Cleanliness: when I tell you this place is CLEAN. Like... they're so sterile with every step of the process it's insane. They change their gloves often to avoid cross contamination, and Embellish also has a jewelry sterilizer machine so your jewelry is extra clean before even entering your body. -Customer Service: Please don't be intimidated by these people because they're so nice and personable. They've been piercing probably longer than I've been alive. I also love how easy it is to fill out a form and pick jewelry. I appreciate that Ronnie took his time to measure my nose and make sure my piercing would have an even placement in relations to my hoop. His piercing technique is so good and precise that the pain was little to none. I asked if he was done, and he was long finished before I asked! He even tells you to call/text if yo have ANY questions (no question is a dumb question). I'm not swimming in piercings or anything, but I would be because of how incredible this place is. -Aftercare: Every piercer is truly dedicated to educating their clients so they can get the best, healed results possible. I feel this is a step that is often skipped when it comes to other studios, but not here! They tell you every single in/out to keeping your piercing clean and how to avoid bad scarring, etc. All and all, if you could get a piercing done anywhere in SD, go here. Granted, it's a 30 minute drive for me, but every bit of this studio is so worth it to me and it'll be worth it to you too!

Eddie showing us how to clean the piercing.

Eddie was holding it down this morning! It was non-stop customers with soooo many questions and he was fantastic. He turned a couple people away, recommending that they wait for a bit more healing until changing their jewelry. He set expectations for wait times and staggered walk-ins with appointments. It took a while to get everything taken care of, but we weren't in a hurry. I listened to everything that he told my family about after care and watched him run the autoclave. His skin care recommendations were perfect. I am a doctor and can confirm that he hit the mark on sterility/cleanliness. My 9 year old got her ears pierced and he fit me in to change my jewelry. He was very patient with my daughter. She was so proud of herself when it was finished. When he changed my earring, it was immediately more comfortable in the stud that he recommended. Will definitely be back!

Late Review, but I was here back in November 2020. I came for a navel piercing. I made an appointment prior because they didn't take walk ins. I had to Uber and told them I might be around 5-10 minutes late, and they were totally chill with it. I arrived right on time and checked in. I was with my friend and I didn't know if she was allowed inside because online it says no one else could come in. She was allowed in the building and sat on the couch, she just couldn't go in the small room with me and the piercer(s). I had to answer some questions on an iPad which took a few minutes. Ronnie helped me with checking in and he was also the who pierced me. There was also a woman - with red hair I believe - to assist him. Both were very kind, friendly, welcoming, and informative! Before the actually piercing, Ronnie did some drawing and made some marks and explained to me how it would turn out. Also, beforehand, he helped me with choosing jewelry. I wanted something universal, but they were out of clear, so ended up getting an aquamarine belly ring (super cute!). Through the process of getting pierced, they were very helpful on keeping me calm and not worrying. They told me what to avoid: tight clothes, high waisted clothes, not touching it, no swimming, etc... to avoid any infections or problems. They also gave me an after care saline solution. My navel area was pretty sore for the rest of the day. I was very cautious and aware of my movements, and slept super still on my back. The next day, no more soreness. Couldn't feel anything unless I accidentally came into contact with it. This lasted about a month or two. After that, I didn't really feel anything if I accidentally brushed my hand against it or laid down on my stomach, As I'm writing this review, it has been about 8 months and I've never had any problems or infections. I haven't gone swimming yet (I'm lowkey scared). It seems pretty much healed, but I'll give it a few more months because even though it may look and feel healed on the outside, then inside may not be done. Definitely going back for future piercings!

Ashley did my eyebrows. She has changed my life they look so amazing I can't believe she was able to fix them. I'm so grateful. She did a wonderful job and did not charge me an arm and a leg. She is the best I would not go anywhere else I highly recommend Ashley. I had these eyebrows done in 1998 from a friend who did tattoos. Ashley was able to color correct and shape my eyebrows for me amazing. I don't have to spend an hour and a half on my eyebrows anymore. Thank you so so much Ashley you're the best. Ashley Morales

I walked in and was greeted (barely), and I told them I had an appointment. I was then shown the jewelry options. If you've been here, you know they have quite alot of jewelry to choose from. I then was basically rushed to make a decision, saying that the time for my appointment was running out? Mind you, I had only been there five minutes. After I made my decision on jewelry, I waited up at the counter because I was unsure of what else to do. The girl with the mid-length brown hair just kept making eye contact with me and not saying anything. She eventually said "the piercer will come get you when she's ready". I went to sit down and then shortly after was retrieved by the piercer Ruth. She was very abrupt and kinda rude when asking me questions about which jewel I wanted where, re-asked me questions that the front desk girl had already asked me, and just was overall not kind. She using terminology that if you don't work at a piercing shop, you probably don't know what it means. And then would look at me like I was stupid for not knowing how to answer. The only good part about my experience with Ruth was that it was fairly quick and painless. She told me we were done and I was like dang, that's it? And she said "yeah? It was just a piercing and an earring change?" I was like okay, I'm not reading too deeply into this, she's just rude. Anyways. I said all that to say, when I go into a tattoo/piercing shop, I want to be treated with kindness, not to be rushed (I do understand they are on a schedule and I do respect that), I want to be taken seriously as this is obviously not my first rodeo, and handled with care. Ruth didn't even communicate what she was doing as she did it. All she said was "this will feel a bit tight" so I had no idea what was happening. I would say overall very disappointing and frustrating experience. They have beautiful jewelry, and a huge selection which is what drew my attention to them in the first place. However, if I'm going to spend over $100 somewhere, I would love to have a reasonable experience that reflects that. I won't be going back here.

The tattoos were not great quality either. My artist which I believe is the owner or one of the main guys gave me attitude when I asked if he could make my tattoo half and inch small. Then I asked if he could rotate it as in physically turn it before placing it and he got annoyed again, said I'd have to pay extra if I'm going to be asking for all that. I explained it wanted it at 90 degree angle vs how how was going to place it. He wouldn't need to make any further changes. Obviously it was a misunderstanding but the way he spoke to me was not friendly at all. But the real issue was how bad the tattle was, didn't look like what was on the flash sheet at all. On the sheet it looked like fine line and well. Just look at my picture to see the issue. You can hardly read the inner part which was supposed to say Veneno. Overall it just came out sloppy and I'm genuinely embarrassed by it. I lie to folks and say that it's supposed to look like that to give spooky vibes but in reality that's not how the tattoo was portrayed on the flash sheet, I think they tatted a little too deep too.

0/10. Do NOT come here…read more I found this artist through Instagram for anime tattoos. His work looked good, so I reached out. He was quick to respond and asked for a $200 deposit, which I sent via Apple Pay on March 5 to the shop owner. We booked for March 16. Leading up to the appointment, he would send random updates on the design, but nothing was finalized. I gave feedback and stayed patient, even knowing they had a Friday the 13th event going on. I didn't hit him up again until March 15 (the day before my appointment) because we STILL didn't have a finished design, which is wild. He tells me he'll have it done that day. Cool. Then a few hours later, I get a generic email saying my appointment is canceled. No explanation. Nothing. So I reach out to the number I sent my $200 to asking for a refund, and instead of handling it like professionals, they get confrontational and start acting like I'm the problem for asking for MY money back. They try to hide behind a "no refund" policy... even though THEY canceled on me. Make that make sense. I added my conversation with the artist, since the owner wants to claim harassment. Judge for yourself. No policy was ever clearly shown to me, and communication was trash the entire time. Instead of owning their mistake, they blamed me and got disrespectful. I only got my money back after I told them I'd file a chargeback with my bank and take them to small claims court. Go read their bad reviews--you'll see a pattern, especially with how the owner talks to customers. Super unprofessional. Save your time, save your money, and go somewhere else.

I had tried and tried to take it off but it wouldn't, so I thought "it's time for the professionals" LOL anyway i walked in and was immediately greeted nicely as they were finishing up with another client. Ruth was the piercer I saw, and was laying down on the table with my head turned to the side. i was prepared for the experience to be difficult and unpleasant since it was so stuck. I kid you not, I didn't feel anything ?? genuinely, ruth took out the stuck jewelry then put in two hoops (2 helix piercings but one stuck) and all i felt was her gloves brushing against me, as it normally would. By the time she told me was done I thought oh maybe she forgot the second piercing but sure enough she had taken the stuck stud and put in 2 hoops. TL;DR All I know is Ruth is incredibly gentle and fast ! Definitely coming back!

Many cute gold pieces - which I find is rare. I've seen three diff piercers so far and maybe 4 diff front desk staff and all have been so friendly. Definitely recommend ! Parking is lowk hard to find sometime so maybe expect to come 30 min early to give yourself time to park and walk to the shop. Got a double helix in July and it's been healing well. Got it downsized and staff were nice and informative
