Came in for breakfast 5/23/24. We hadn't been here in a while, and we were not disappointed! We were seated right away. The atmosphere is pleasant. I had the bacon avocado bowl, my husband had an omelet and my son had chicken/eggs benedict. Everything was delicious! They are very creative with the menu. The food came quickly and was hot. All of the staff we interacted with were very friendly and our server Denise was absolutely wonderful! She is so friendly and personable and is very efficient. While the food is classically diner in its orientation, the food isn't overly greasy. The prices are also reasonable for the portions offered. $11.99 for the Bissell Breakfast is a great value. Stopped in for dinner. I wanted the pot roast turned out they were out of it. My server Denise recommended the chicken Alfredo. So I ordered that it was very good. First I had a salad with ranch. For dessert I had lemon blueberry bread pudding which I've had there before so I already knew it was good. Denise took care of everything and made sure it all came out correct. I've come here multiple times for breakfast and usually everything is great. The morning crew is just a nicer group and they don't mess up as much. Now the evening shift, that's a whole different story. My friend and I came in around 4pm on a Sunday. The place had maybe 5 tables filled. The girls working were standing up front talking to each other before they even noticed we were there. When we got seated, the waitress comes over and right away, I could tell she was having a bad day. I mean, we all have our days, but when you're in the customer service field, you gotta learn to put up a front. The girl (Alexandria (according to the receipt)) gave me a water with no straw, I had to ask her a second time around. My friend and I ordered the chicken salad-salad. Usually they're pretty good, but this time was not it. We noticed that the cherry tomatoes had mold on it and we discretely told her to tell the kitchen to keep an eye on the batch. Then she never came back to the table. We had to flag another waitress down to find our waitress. Took us 20 minutes to get our check, and we handed her the credit card immediately to eliminate waiting another 20 minutes. She comes back and throws the receipt on the table with the card and just rudely walked away. She's lucky my friend and I know what it's like to work for tips. Amazing place with just as amazing servers. Our server Joanne was amazing. She was helpful, thoughtful, and kind. Asked us if we wanted to put our half eaten cheese fries in a box before bringing out our entrees. The cheese fries are great with a good amount of saltiness in it. Just wish there were more jalapeños. The fish and chips were ok. Crispy, nicely fried ,but a bit too salty. You needed the tartar sauce to try and balance out the saltiness. The shrimp and grits are amazing. Just pure creamy homey goodness that'll leave you full and happy. This is a must have! The bread pudding is just as great. Warm, soft and a melting pot of chocolately goodness. All in all an amazing place with a special shout-out to Joanne our server. One of the best services I had and super considerate! Service was great! Unfortunately the food wasn't anything to write home about. I've been here once before and got take out; fried chicken and waffles... it was delish. This time around we ate in and I got a breakfast scramble which was good but I wouldn't get it again. Not to any fault of them, it's just breakfast mixed up into a bowl. I got the Hollandaise sauce on side which was good but not the best.. husband got the fried chicken and biscuits which was very good but way too much Hollandaise sauce which he didn't like at all. So basically great service, fun food but the fried chicken meals are really the only thing worth visiting for so far! If we try it again we will definitely be getting something other then breakfast but still a sticking with the fried chicken meals... Also very expensive!!!!!!! I ordered the chicken waffle and Sf eggs Benedict. The sf eggs Benedict was okay. Decent like any other Benedict. I love how they added the avocado to the Benedict though. THE CHICKEN AND WAFFLE MADE MY TASTE BUDS MELT. It was suggest that you mix the maple syrup and hot sauce together. Boy oh boy was that a good combo! I was disappointed in a meal selection I have normally ordered. The pancakes were basically silver dollar size. Far from the normal size I had before at Metro Diner or any other diner. I was told by a waitress and manager it was proper size. I was disappointed and surprised by Metro Diner. It's gone downhill. Gluten free breakfast review here! Excellent food and service this morning! Lauren greeted me promptly at the door and told me to just choose any seat I'd like. She brought me black coffee and water quickly...everything about the service was fast and friendly! Shout out to Diane, behind the counter in the kitchen...happily greeting everyone that walked in. I'm from the West Coast, and 7 am here is 4 am in my world. So I'm sitting here drinking my coffee and asked Lauren "She's way too damned happy. Who is she?" and that's how I have Diane's name. The manager came by and asked how my food and service was (excellent). Shaun pitched in and refilled my coffee when Lauren was busy. Shaun has a shirt that says "trainer" so he must be important!!! This diner reminds me of breakfast spots down the shore. It has a variety of booth seating and regular tables. The floor is black and white checkered. A very old school look. I liked the atmosphere. There was no wait when we arrived at 9am. We were seated right away. However, when we were leaving, there were many families waiting to be seated. I guess their busier times are from 10:30am-closing. To start, my boyfriend and I each got cups of coffee. Free refills! The coffee was alright. They give you regular half and half but I would've preferred flavored creamer. My boyfriend also got a cup of OJ. I ordered the avocado toast. The avocado looked kind of brown but it was still good and very filling. It's a huge portion. I didn't know they gave you 4 slices of the avo toast so I ordered a side of hash browns and added sunny side up eggs to the meal for an additional $2. It was a lot of food. My boyfriend got the three egg breakfast with a side of sausage. The waitress asked if he preferred links or patties. He asked for the patties and said they were a little on the dry side. Everything else was great. For both of us, it was $31. It's a little pricey but worth it because you get a ton of food. I ate so much I wasn't hungry for lunch. my partner and i visited metro diner on a whim. we had no idea it was a chain, just were hoping for some good diner food and metro diner absolutely delivered! i'm typically not a fan of shredded hashbrowns because they're just never crispy enough, but i chose to order them regardless and they were PERFECT. crisp to perfection but not burnt, exactly how i like them. i went with the hot honey chicken biscuit which was as delicious as it sounds. biscuit was moist with a crisp exterior, chicken was thin and coated in hot honey. it made for a perfect bite! there could've been more hot honey but i'm sure i could've asked for some extra. my partner went with the bissell breakfast that comes with eggs, bacon, toast and pancakes. eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly! and most importantly the pancakes were the star of the show! honestly pancakes are always good but always the same. i don't know what metro diner does differently but they're airy, fluffy, sweet and genuinely melt in your mouth. i was speechless after tasting them! we showed up around 10 on a sunday morning and were sat right away. service was fantastic. our breakfast was quick but didn't feel rushed. 10/10 experience and hoping our location close to home is as good! read more

Was there last week for breakfast. Tables crammed together. Hostess sat us. Asked if we wanted coffee and delivered 2 cups in industrial mugs that will never break. Caught her to ask for milk. Delivered in a soufflé cup but no place settings. Asked a bus person but ignored us. No one else around to help. Got her attention again but said not her job! Asked again 3 min later to please get someone to set table so we could stir the coffees. Placed order. I know eggs are expensive but 2 eggs, toast, home fries and coffee should not cost $16. I ordered an omelette which presented well until I realized that the ingredients were placed inside a plain folded omelette. No melding of flavors. Again, dish did not justify the price. I had to ask for more coffee. Poured for me but never asked my wife. Waitress acted like she was doing us a favor the whole time. Not returning. read more
