This diner is fantastic! Great food and great service. I ordered the shrimp and grits. This was my first shrimp and grits and I'm now a believer. Delicious! Worth writing home about. The food was above average and portions generous. The service was good, with attentive servers. The manager made it a point to stop by most tables, and showed a genuine interest in the food and service. Why three stars? The price was high-high-high! Was visiting some friends, found this place on yelp the first time. Decided to go with the family (including my kiddos), they loved the chicken STRIPS and waffles. We have gone back a couple times when we are in town. Unfortunately the last time I was there the food was not to our expectations. my only complaint- We got two specials- chicken fried steak and black and blue tips. The first meal was ok, the crust on the steak was a bit on the salty side. The second plate, the steak tips were super tough or over cooked, it seemed as if the beef cut was not the best. It's served over fries with a vinaigrette, I think if the steak was less tough and served over a mixed greens salad it would be a killer. read more

Ok, we decided to give her a go again. We were at Costco and I mentioned that to continue shopping before breakfast was not a good financial move, Wifey agreed, and when we completed our Costco business. I suggested to Wifey, "hey, wanna try Metro Diner again! You know, forgive and forget!" She glared at me. I knew i was in the line of fire. I was so hungry though..."OK, this ones on me" I stammered. We really liked Metro, but it only takes one bad issue and you are dead to her...dead! "Ok....ass, this one's on you. We get jerked around again its on you!". This was serious I know my credibility was on the line. She pulled in, parked and we made our way thru the door. What a difference! First off we approached the host stand and within 30 seconds we were greeted and sat. Saturday 10am and they were swamped! But there was a very positive energy, no pudge insight. We were lucky enough to score the same waitress we wished for in my previous review. Our order was taken within the first 2-3 minutes and had our meal within 10 minutes. Talk about a complete turn around! As we ate other staff members refilled our drinks as needed. What a great team, everyone working together. What a let down. Only 3 omelette selections, no corn cornbread hash, not chicken fried steak. They also do not have regular saltine crackers for soup. Excuse for cornbread hash is after COVID the supplier doesn't have it. Well this diner is within one mile of Costco. Go buy some. Will NOT be back. Service was fair but not good. Went in at 10am on a Thursday, it was fairly busy but not slammed. Got seated right away but sat at table for well over 10 minutes no one acknowledged us or let us know they would be with us shortly. So we left. Hate to see what it is like at a busy time. read more

What can I say! Their Chicken n Waffle is addictive..they give you strawberry butter with REAL strawberries in it . You know a restaurant has amazing food when, on the way out, you're already thinking of what to get on your next visit! I've tried the burgers, chicken tenders, meatloaf, and a croissant breakfast sandwich. Never was I disappointed. Sides are just as good as the main items. Good atmosphere..friendly staff. First let me start by saying my server Dawn was such a nice person and helped me out with picking something to eat (chix and waffles are so good) but I am giving a 3 star because I set at the bar and witnessed server Carrie be extremely rude to the Hispanic cook multiple times. It was so nasty that I said "that was rude"! I saw that you guy's were hiring and thought to apply part time but after seeing that kind of energy I wouldn't dare. Great place! Chicken and waffles is always a win there. Friendly staff and I've never had to wait for a table.

The place isn't bad the food was average. The only bad part of this experience was the waitress named Carrie. As soon as we were at our table she was rude the whole time not as bad at the beginning when she was taking our drink order. And I thought OK well maybe she is having a bad day so I gave her the benefit of the doubt. It became clear that she Was not having a bad day as a matter of fact she was having good day. It became clear to me what the problem was because new customers were arriving around our table and she was very nice to them. The problem to her was that we were not white. And when our order was wrong instead of her being like "I'm sorry we can fix" it she was like "well you ordered it that way and it's exactly how you ordered it" in a rude tone. And she never came back except to give us the check and she didn't even want to look at us. She just set it down and kept on walking. And I had to fight with every bone in my body to not be rude back so we just just finished and left. I understand she out there grinding working hard but I just ask don't be racist and be nice to everyone and just do your job like what you're getting paid for. She's lucky we left tip! read more

My husband decided on the bold burger. If you like jalapeño's. This is the burger for you! Fried with the seeds! Nice and crispy. I didn't care for the fries. They were ok.
